I lived in Maryland the state above Virginia, on the outskirts of the 2nd largest city there in the mountains. There were rumors of a old cult that sacrificed cats in a house for "worship" though just rumors.

@NatasOmega It's pretty much a staple in the series. The people who interact with Silent Hill are supposed to be emotionally repressed. They creators never really explained why the main characters always act like this, but it definitely helps give the series its signature disturbing and uneasy tone.
