  • Not the most melodic lines but the kid can definetly play...

  • I know this guy! He is at our jazz festival in Blaine, Washington. He gives out such great advice. What a badass.

  • loved the sax playing apart from the tone, was a bit gerald for me

  • Great sax solo!

  • Wow the Sax player is actually pretty good just keep listening a little bit longer

  • You are KICKIN. You're a beast man. All of your playing maintained consistency throughout a slew of choruses. Nice job man.

  • Nick - you are killin and fresh! Some of these comments are flat-out strange. Hope to hear more...! Stay tuned!

  • Good stuff, but the sax should try to play a little softer. It seemed a little harsh and raw, which might not be so bad, but it didn't seem to fit the mood.

  • sorry meant choruses

  • you play very well, i enjoyed listening to your several changes, they infact had something to say each time around, with a new pattern/phrase...very consitent with that, and your sound was good, and the tempo...very cool man, keep it up!!!

  • oh man, you're on fire!!!

but i have to agree... two choruses of bop is pretty much all anyone can handle. after that you have to take it out or do something like jump through flaming hoops to keep your audience alive.

  • Nice solo, would have been perfect if it was half the length. 2 Chorus of bop is more than enough to say what you have to say.

  • Stunning, absolutely fantastic!

  • Great job Nick really burning the changes.Obviously put alot of work into the changes, nice ideas also.Keep on working it.

  • The drummer was great.

  • i agree with you oattrane.....LOL....AND FOR THE RECORD EVERYONE...MUSIC IS PROGRESSIVE...AS A MUSICIAN THERE ARE THINGS THAT I HAVE PLAYED THAT I DIDNT WANT TO PLAY AT THE MOMENT...BUT I JUST GO HOME AND SHED..DAMN SHOULD HE NOT PLAY OUT UNTIL HE IS PERFECT...LOL...COLTRANE LACKED CONFIDENCE AT FIRST...BECAUSE OF CORNBALLS ALWAYS CRITICIZING SOMEONES GROWTH...LOL...DAMN...SIT BACK AND ENJOY THE MOMENT...IM SURE IN 1 YEAR THAT SAX OR ANYONE UP THERE WILL BE A DIFFERENT MUSICIAN.LET THEM GROW

  • LOL @ everyone saying this guy doesn't sound like this and that...he ovbiously has chops of steel...and probably roasts the balls of everyone who posted here so please cut the crap.

  • Great sequencing on that first chorus. Sonny Rollins was a master at that, stretch a motif to the breaking point. I'll take that over rehearsed Trane licks from sax man #29,8374 anyday. haha

The lick at 2:54 reminded me of something Eric Dolphy would do. Great stuff. Post more.

  • this kid pisses me off! Sounds better then me.

  • Oh, and the run from 2:32 to 2:37 was insane.

  • Sax solo wasn't so great at the start, but it really started gaining momentum during the 2nd chorus.

Cool stuff. Sax player has great technical ability.

    Piano solo was really good.

  • You should hear Nick on the piano. He went to the same college I did, though he graduated my freshman year. He's fucking incredible.

  • man hard bop lives on in cats like u keep it up

  • Good playing man!and it's definetly not an easy tune.

  • serious alto playing!

  • good job man..

but i think the sax took too many sequence in soloing.. CMIIW

  • stompin'

  • Ya Man

  • sounds great.

  • nice. feelin' the groove!
