You know....you don't hear Muzak music like this anymore. Here in Cincinnati there was a Radio Station WWEZ that played music like this. It went out of Business sadly.
.
Thank you for introducing Frank Chacksfield to us You Tubers.
Anyone notice the bossa nova in this? It's the 'secret' rhythm that created 100s of hits in the 60s & 70s. I've playlisted about 5000 videos for you to hear . .
My 400 playlists give you continuous play for any of over 250 artists or any of the past 120 years, so you hear the pop music of the day as if you were there!!! It's the Ultimate jukebox! Chuck
I am the producer of the music and I can assure you that Frank would be very proud to be associated with your work.
Knowing that our work motivated you to produce this syncronization is flattering. I will be suggesting others who know the recording stop by and view your work.
Well thank you for your very kind comments! I am flattered by your assertion that Frank would be proud to be associated with this.
I must say that prior to this (the download), I had only heard your work through ceiling speakers at my company. I listen to this through Sony studio headphones amplified through a digital stereo receiver, and the sound is stunning!
I must give kudos to you on a thoroughly enjoyable product, and for choosing this song! I look forward to those others' remarks.
Frank Chacksfield could be the poster-guy for beautiful music! This version is tops and your presentation of the pictures and lyricsis magnificently stupendous ! ! !
I prefer to lose myself in the orchestral sounds and not hear the singers most of the time -this is PERFECT for me, thanks for sharing this with us ! ! !
Thanks for your comments, and you're most welcome! Glad it works for you. Frank Chacksfield passed away a few years after this was recorded, but he did a fine job on many tunes from way back when. John's voice might be the exception as far as listenability is concerned, because it was such a fine instrument that got better like wine as it aged. But I understand what you're saying as far as orchestral soothingness.
One of MANY JD songs that could EASILY be a very good instrumental!!!!!!!
Muzak has recorded about 35 John Denver songs - and they ALMOST NEVER PLAY "Annie's Song" - because people start to sing along - and are not paying attention to their work!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh there are so many! When I have played John's songs at a singalong such as a campfire, the people usually sing the wrong verse at the wrong time! Fellow guitarists ALWAYS get it right! That's why John said "I'll do the verses" LOL. One time he even extolled the audience to sing the same song he was doing. He was just ribbing them. But there was an album I had in the early 80s of muzak singers and I believe they did Annie's Song. Where that album is is anyone's guess.
For the Sydney Opera House performance, he said "and you don't have to limit yourselves to the choruses of the songs gang. If you feel like singing the verse...then go for it!!" LOL.
Women enjoyed saying "I love you John!!!" and he'd reply with "I love you too!!!" One woman at a concert tried to seduce him (I didn't catch what she said, it was quite a few rows away), and he said with a laugh "It's MY show". Heh heh.
So am I. Really, I just can't find the right words to say, its Beautiful!!! I really Love it!!! When someone ask me what my favorite JD song is, first I tell them that it is hard to choose just one. But i always come back to "Looking For Space" So I guess I have to say, that it is "Looking For Space" And I really Love what you have put together!!! "Masterpiece" Now, that could be the word that I'm looking for!!!

After recording "Annie's Song" Muzak got many requests NOT to play it - as it was distracting - the employees were SINGING THE SONG!!!!!!!!
I REMEMBER THAT ALSO - his saying - "You do the chorus - and I'll do the verses - after all - it's my show!"
He also often said: "Feel free to sing anytime you want - just try to sing the song that we are playing!!!"
GREAT ENTERTAINER!!!

PS While I could listen to John's voice all day, I like this instrumental rendition. It's very relaxing.

I agree 100%. John's voice is/was absolutely gorgeous, but this version has stuck with me since I first heard it.
jrssjdca 2 years ago
Very nicely done. Beautiful, clear images - and I love that you superimposed John's lyrics and ended with a picture of an eagle and then John.
Thanks for sharing!
