    amen!

  • I'm trying to play this song at home, but I think it is beyond my skill level. I've daydreamed that I was the writer of great songs. It's hard to imagine she really wrote this at 14. She is extremely talented and it makes me feel guilty for under achieving all those years in school. But I didn't really love the sound of the violin. Vanessa has changed that for me.

  • Ye Ha!

  • @ 1:14 it's not a "more complicated version" of the melody, it's just arpeggios! Why are amateurs so easily impressed? Look at what Bach did in his variations (ie; Passacaglia in C minor BWV582), that is MUCH MORE IMPRESSIVE!!!

  • @mtv565 don't be a snob

  • I can't live long enough...

  • Still my favourite rendition. It's got it all.

Put on your headphones and crank up the volume.

    Bravo!

  • Thank you Vanessa, you already brought a music from heaven to earth. Amazing play!

  • Es impresionante como se acompaña por la orqueta, simplemente Extraordinaria, lo mejor que he visto

  • ooooooo muito bom adoro vanessa mae

  • I LOOOOOOOVE it ,How ever, i don't think we have to seek a key for this song. I'm going to say maybe a error but I think this song is based upon a mode, it isn't a tonale music

  • how can we get the sheet music to this?

  • she's awesome, but somehow i paid more attention to the conductor lol

  • Just wow!

  • grandiosa

  • And about her dress....

She is young and the tour is called Red Hot...

She is hot and the dress is red...

  • I just love it!!! Thanks!

  • bombeeeeeeee .. voll der hammer

  • one heck of a standing ovation...

  • Absolutely Fantastic all around.

  • This is one piece of absolutely fascinating music...

  • Simply Amazing....This song stirs the emotions and reminds us all what great music sounds like.

  • What an amazing talent, playing AND writing exquisite music.

  • benn93z28, you messed up this video by adding your comments. It bothers as hell!!!!

  • And I hope she's coming to Brussels again. I 've seen her live on stage in '96.

    Amazing.

How she was running and jumping around while playing... she made me love "classic" music ;-)

  • we do rg on this song!!

    great!

    x

  • The melody is real magic. She jumps through the tuning like she wants to...

  • I hope she'll come to Belgrade again...10 years passed from the last time she was here... :( Bravo, Vanessa, bravo!

  • linda musica

    es genial

    amo a vanessa mae

  • Thanks so much for the annotations... they were awesome, I love to hear and appreciate!!!!

  • i'm speechless..!!!so great!!

  • Comment removed

  • You can turn off annotations if you want to, I thought it was interesting that she wrote it at 14 years old. Besides it doesn't block the music, which is what really matters.

  • thanx, i didn't kno about annotations control! she is a VERY gifted performer. i first heard her years ago on windows media player!

  • Magnificent !!!!

  • <333

My favorite variation is the 3rd one she plays (at around 1:14)

For some reason, I just love watching her smooth bowing.

  • Wow, I absolutely love this piece. I've been checking out several of her performances after I got curious when I saw a friend listening to "Bach Street Prelude." Since then, I have not been disappointed, and this is by far my favourite song yet!

  • I love this song

  • This is such an an amazing and inspirational piece. <33333

    I absolutely love the orchestra.

I just wish her back wasn't to the audience so many times.

  • Ah :D Having an orchestra in the background gives it a total new taste to it :) And I'm loving it!

  • • her violin skill & music are simply superb.. :-)

  • wtf is up with the play-by-play??

  • Brava!

    最佳的音乐!

    สุดยอดไปเลย!

    Sungguh menakjubkan!

  • this is my favourite!! it's so inspiring, i just started violin and i love it .

  • i agree i started violin3 years ago but i apart from that this is such an inspiring piece!!!!!

I wanna see the whole concert.

    Please upload it!

    Thanks in advance.

  • Es... magnífica adorablemente virtuosa

  • she's real talented...the youngest girl in the band...think about how cool she is...!!!

    from Thailand

  • super muzyk...uwielbiam ją:)

  • Not much emotion in her playing...still good !

  • gegrgegr

  • Jest swietna,co tu duzo mowic

  • 1) Get half as famous as her in rock violin and write your own piece that gets played by an orchestra, then you can complain about how she dresses

    2) She's damned good, and she knows it ;)

  • i don't care what she wears..i just care what she plays..cool!

  • If you actually look at this video again, you'll see that she was facing the audience most of the time. But occasionally she has to face the conductor just so that she'll keep tempo with the orchestra and not trail off on her own.

  • easy, Sex sells, and what better to use a HOT and stunning Red miniskirt and top for the song title "RED HOT". and from today's standards(2008) its not revealing at all.

  • Shit man, just be glad she does.

  • Wow who cares what she wheres!? it's what she plays!

  • woops meant "wears" not wheres...stupid me...

  • Superfuckingcool-she rock, and she is awesome violin player..i like very much :)

  • Some people who criticized her don't know much about real music.

  • Don't knock Vanessa. Number One. She is British. And she is bringing classical music to the masses. It is called crossover music. We hope (as do the marketing people) that by listening to this many people will listen to 'proper' classical stuff.

  • Well, VM is NOT British...her mother is Chinese and her father is Thai. She was RAISED in London, so that's where she gets her British accent from.

  • This is my favorite version of Red Hot.

  • sounds like a horn...

  • Wow!!!!! *.*

  • wow that dress is short

  • You're saying that like it's a bad thing.

  • Absolutely beautiful to hear and see.

  • I just don't understand people who criticize her for her style of playing. "She doesnt play it like so n so." She's an artist. She plays it like she hears it. Which in my uneducated view is very pleasing.

  • well said. She's also not a snob about her playing, you can tell she just wants to cut loose and have fun. Amazing performer, amazing beauty.

  • Ma VAffanculo,va!!!

  • i loved everything!!!!

    goodness vanessa!!!!!!

    that is wonderful!!

but the only thing i do not like is her apparel......

  • Did she compose this? This song is tremendous and I like her uneven rhythm. It makes me feel that this piece is very very unique. But I think she should not face her audience when she is performing.

  • why not?

  • Because a performer should never face their back toward their audience. Quite unpleasant, that's why.

  • Umm... what? You just said she should NOT face her audience and then you said she should never face her BACK toward the audience, which is it?

  • Oops. I mean she should not face her back towards her audience.

  • she should face the orchestra as well, i can say that as a violin player.

  • wow vanessa mae-san sugoi desu!

  • This is one of the best videos about vanessa

and yes this is her own creation

    she is beautiful isnt her??

  • This is one of the best videos about vanessa

and yes this is her own creation

    she is beautiful isnt her??

  • OMG!!! her own creation??? amazing and beautiful, my favorite piece, definitely!! Regards and congratulations from Mexico!

  • this is to: hattsoffboysfarm you really don't know of what you are talking about, she is better than bond, bond doesn't play difficult things, and vanessa does, you better hear more music coz you don't know any of it, viva is very easy to play, and the others, but try to play, classical gas, or reflection or paganini (caprice 24) from vanessa, that is very good music

  • are you kidding me?

yes i knowviva is one of bonds "simpler songs", but have you heard songs sucha as explosive, victory, shine, and wintersun? and the song "kismet" composed by gay-yee (cellist) is one of the hardest songs i have ever attempted. listen to kismet. youll see that they play more, complicated songs.

    DXx

  • try, kismet a kingdom hearts tribute. or oceanic live at the royal albert hall.

  • NO, I'm not kidding you, and yes, i have heard all that songs coz i like bond too, my point is, they aren't as good as vanessa, coz bond plays very easy things, they play fast, but is just cuestion of the metronome, example korobushka, like the others, and if you see the videos of bond, you will see they don't use all the strings in all positions, they barely use the fourth position just in the first string and vanessa uses all positions in all the strings,

  • see the videos of the songs you told me, and see videos of vanessa, life this one, or classical gas, mm or reflection and the other songs i told you , and you will se a diference

  • Nice comment. If it sucks, play better and give link to that video.

  • If it sucks, then why don't you try composing a song yourself? Then you'll know what the meaning of "suck" is.

  • Im with you rawrness1230

  • Red hot is my most favourite theme from Vanessa. Orchestr.version is amazing!

    Thanks for this video!

  • la mina pesa xD

toca dando la espalda mucho timepo :S

  • WAW! esto es asombroso... Ella es tan genial. Simplemente.. una violinista digna de admirar.

  • this is great for the same reasons beethoven was a rebel and so popular. She brings the passion of the music to the audience. The notes aren't always the most important thing .. how well the audience recieves the music is .. no matter how well you play, if people are only half-listening / involved in the music .. half the passion is missed .. she brings the full passion to the music .. LOVED IT ..

    Jeff Williams

  • im sorry but i just have to laugh. dont get me wrong. i could never do what she does. she just funny

  • she is not as good as bond!

try viva or wintersun or victory!

    DAViDx

  • This is not Bach, but an original composition, Red Hot, by the beautiful and super talented Vanessa-Mae. She was ranked the wealthiest entertainer below 30 in the UK with $64 million. Not sure how her career has gone in recent years, though.

  • i like this version more than the original, it sounds great with the orchestra

  • ella es admirable como rompe los esquemas de una sociedad tan mmm "cuadrada" ,jajaa en todo caso yo se que ella toca muy bien.

  • i wanth to fuck ...she :D

  • learn English first

  • Wow!

  • *sheesh*... why is it not possible to edit comments ? this was meant to be a comment about her Toccata interpretation.. sorry guys

  • Dunno if this is Bach though, but I know her Toccata interpretation

  • Poor old Bach.. thank god he`s dead. Just my humble opinion..

  • i like this! She also is really good at Toccata and Fugue

  • She is the Ulitmate!

  • Hace como 9 años que la habia escuchado, y siempre quise encontrar su nombre, definitvamente se nota la potencia de su musica...BRAVO!!

  • realmente fantastico y ella es hermosa

  • great video!! :D thanks for posting :D The outfit isn't that bad...also this was on 96 right?

  • Correct, September of 1996 in Germany during her Classical tour.

  • yheah es genial red hot

  • What a talent, great video, should see barrage, and bond, they are terrific too, but in other genres, chek it out.

  • Cant you all see? Look at all those people in their suits, all indistinguishable, unreachable. Vanessa just showed em all up, wearing that. Great music :)

  • she sounds the classidal music as a chinese music .also her electric violin dose not fit with the other classical instruments . and her outfit is ???

  • wow

  • I totally understand where she's coming from. Break down the walls of convention and spice up what has, for far too long, been a tight ass musical environment. Get on stage with a flashy outfit, rock out to the music and have a fun time feeling the power of such a huge orchestra. Hell, she can get up there with a thong as far as I'm concerned. :-)

  • Vanessa-Mae recently performed "Red Hot" after a 5-year hiatus. Not only that, but unlike in this video, she performed it on her Guadagnini acoustic violin!! You can see her most recent pictures at vanessa-mae dot "n" "u"

  • The song is played very well.. but the outfit is indeed in very bad taste..quite sleazy. I understand its for the song "Red Hot".. but still. yech.

  • she's a GREAT player, but her outfit is alittle skanky.

  • She's so beautiful! I luv how she's playin! OMG!

  • I think that she is way too underdressed for this.... she looks like a whore at a wedding.

  • i sow her and she signed me. she's very sweet

  • And now something on a nicer note! I love the Devil's Trill she plays the most just because it has sooo many cool sounds with the violin. And cuz people were being idiots and dissing her over and over and not being civil on the Toccata vid I want to say that she plays it well. Tricky song for me still >.<!

  • Iam so glade i got her cd! shes da bomb!

  • she wrote the music for all the instruments of the orchestra? or just the first violin part

  • Just the violin part, most likely. Ian Wherry probably had an instrumental part in creating Red Hot, as he created the guitar part that you hear at the very beginning of the single edit version and the guitar intermission about half away through the original/single version.

  • okay, this honestly makes a mochery of the classical music world. To dress like that with a professional orchestra. Any jackass can play that crap.

  • You're a close-minded tool.

  • Excellent, I want you record yourself playing "Red Hot" and make it available on YouTube please.

  • Yes, but just because you can't look that good doesn't mean you have to hound her for it. It's unique live with it and go to vids you like instead of the ones you hate..

  • I don't see you up there :0)

  • That had to be one of the funniest things I have ever seen. I nearly crapped myself when she horny mouthed "red hot" at the end.

  • this rendition of red hot with the orchestra accompanying her is another great performance done by the violin virtourso, vanessa mae. her virtoursic skills shows once again in this song. well done vanessa mae. bravo.

  • a very interesting and technically challenging piece, great arrangement for an orchestra, flawlessly crisp violin technique, entrancing performance...vanessa such a sensual joy to behold...and an orchestra from the heavens.

  • great melody, vanessa mae it´s the greatest violin player ever exist

  • brilliant, but I must say that this music doesn't go well with classical orchestra...if Vanessa were using an acoustic violin, it could have been different though

  • try searching for bond.. or haylie ecker

  • thats an electric violin

  • The title was actually taken from the video, but it implicates a place, not an orchestra. The full title is "Vanessa-Mae at the Berlin Philharmonie". During the credits, the orchestra seen here is the Bratislava Radio Symphony Orchestra.
