actually if you've progressed beyond triage on a patient then you cannot leave them to go to a new patient
that's why doing proper triage BEFORE starting care is so important. i'm afraid that was a case of abandonment, since the vitals were apparently not stable and you obviously can't just walk away from a patient in such a state.
the only exception to this rule that i can think of would be in the case of an emergency move (hazardous environment) and even then you would remain with the patien
