another good forgotten band, like the bible they didnt fit in ,cos at the time,it was the time of the manchester scene of bands.and a new era of euro electro acts.
Used to sit behind guitarist ‘batty’ in geography—Saw him last decades ago in St Helens, whilst wandering about ill, and thought the world thought I was finished, I was nothing, I was gone, I was a crater from an accidental bomb. I was time chewing on its own ankles needing to do something with its teeth and not knowing quite what they were for or which way to point them. Got on a bus and went to Southport. Where I’d used to get drunk in my teens and run about the fair like God geese on fire.
I love this song. In Spain there were well known, only those who had satellite TV and it was worth having it only to see masters of the melody as they were this unforgettable group.
I am 40 years old, and it is hard to believe the first time I saw them it was my 18th birthday in Atlanta, GA. OMG! I am sooooo old, but what a great memory. It was one of the best concerts I have ever seen of theirs because they were playing (in what I wanted to recall as the Velvet Room) and it is set-up where you stand RIGHT in front them at the same level. Not really sure if I got the name right, but I remember having one of their concert promotion posters!
have there album from the 80s and wood have to say 1 of the best ive heard real get up and go that comin from a u2 big country simple minds fan...but hell the music was and still is pure class.... dean fron donegal
Too early for baggy and on the end of the Smiths coat tails, same thing happened to a few bands around this time The Bodines spring to mind........1st album is brilliant (when signed to Factory), produced by Martin Hannett I think??
@dontpanicblink Hi DPB, my sister did it for me off the internet, i will try and see if she can remember which site it was from then i will reply to you with it.
Always liked this single, but they'd gone a bit too pop by the time they released 'Native Place' and it was a real disappointment, after the brilliance of 'Reunion Wilderness' and the maturity of 'Recurrence'.
@rickydazzle yeah what i mean is that it's a big step from good to great. Great bands fulfill their potential or at least most of it. I think The RC had a lot more to offer but for whatever reason it didn't happen
I loved this band. Went to see them in concert a few times and they were fab. Unfortunately they were around in an era where if you didn't go to number 1 or 2 with your first record you just fell by the wayside. Get them to reform and get rid of the current monstrosities like Kate Nash

I've loved every song I've heard from these guys, and it's sad they never got the break they so richly deserved.

Always wondered what Paul Scholes did before he played football, obviously a budding young bassist, lol!!!!
Top song though.

I saw them in Salt Lake City in 1991. Way fun. This music needs to be re-released. Way better than the crap my kids like.

Good song but would've been better if they had an 80's flock of seagulls look about them. Turned up like they're going shopping really.

Their debut album is a pretty great thing. But it was released on Factory.
This wasn't - and is the fact it doesn't sound as good a coincidence?
Possibly not, but its bloody rubbish either way.

loll.. Did someone say that a band from Wigan didn't make it because they were too posh?? Classic! They must have been from Shevington!

great band, but they never really made it.
Before there were the Smiths, and after there were the Stone Roses.

@dontpanicblink It is on eBay, or you can get the tracks free elsewhere ;)
I bought this album as soon as it was released. Every track is great - there's not many albums I have which I can say that about.

They were superb, unfortunately they looked too posh and were 4 years after the Smiths and 4 years before britpop and suffered because of it.
