The first matrix was the only movie that i thought it was like "The gospel" in the bible. The rest is just added stuff. The movie is a good example though, but still belive in the Bible than movies lol
We all play our parts and have our purpose. If we clue into all as a collective you can see how much of this is our mission to LEAVE the matrix, and the only way out is through the sacrifice of THE ONE.
yes. it's an atheistic movie. in the first movie, the matrix itself is a metaphor for controlling systems like government, commerce, and especially religion. this is why morpheus says "you can see it when you go to work, when you go to church, when you pay your taxes". the matrix, like religion is "the world which has been pulled over your eyes, to blind you from the truth".
later they take their anti-religious metaphor more litterally, portraying morpheus as a mindless dogmatist whose faith is shattered, taking his hope with it, when he learns that the prophecy was a lie, and his religion, like all religion, was just another system of control. he spends the third movie broken and aimless. niobe shows him that there's another source of hope, when she says that while she never believed in the one, she believes in neo.
No no no... again, a bit ignorant in scope. Morpheus faith is shattered in his not understanding why Neo must in the end make the choices he does to in fact Die for the saving of Zion. So... not sure why you were confused about this. Again, another "religious" analogy not "anti-religious". Please get a pen, paper, hit up google, then rewatch the movie in half speed so you can realize what is happening.
you're confusing mytholgical references for religious meaning. the first movie follows the messianic myth pattern to the letter, but the next 2 go beyond the end of it. the third breaks the pattern altogether, when neo makes a true sacrifice, with no resurrection, no reward, no golden fleece or elixir to bring back, no hero's welcome or happily ever after.
The third breaks the pattern because its analogies refer to part of "Revelations" that have not yet happened... which would be the RETURN of Jesus, what part of this is confusing? Mythological? How? Peter and Judas both lose faith as does Morpheus, Peter denies him 3 times to his face as he is being brought in to his trial and Judas turns him in for $, that which is the root of evil, what is pulled over our eyes. There is no resurrection at the end, just a new world built for us by Jesus.
Okay okay... so semantics got you, but the movie is so spiritual and so much more in tune with TRUE love, TRUE teachings, it's not even funny... jus' so happened that through man organized religions blinded Truth. But... to say that an anology to Christ or Gospel is incorrect is entirely ignorant, because if you watch the clips you will understand which is why I was actually being sarcastic. Kinda a rhertorical question but since you answered I think you should re-watch the movie not atheistic
What's wrong with Keanu Reeves? He played the part well I thought, but mostly because he seemed alot like myself. Man of few words.....he's on a mission.

of course, in the matrix online, morpheus slips back into the religious mindset and does something monumentally stupid.

there's nothing spiritual about it. the movie is at it's core humanistic.

Like I said. REwatch the movie, or reread your Bible.

Matrix would of been a much better movie if they had a better actor to play neo
