  • how is this a fat burning exercise? this exercise requires a lot of energy in a very short period of time, and fat is NOT metabolized at a very quick rate, primarily creatine phosphate glycogen would be utilized for this, very little if any fat would be metabolized, but it is a good power exercise for athletes.

  • @kuherrm Agreed. To burn fat, whatever exercise is chosen, the person's heart rate must be 60-65% of what is normal for their age, done over a longer period.

  • Ive had problems with my knees in other excercises but squats dont bother them at all. but yeah... i do squat presses in a workout I do daily...whew...its brutal, but it definitely works! :) I dare you to do 100 squat presses!! LOL I doubt I could. Ive done 200 REGULAR squats. but squat presses?! thatd be a challenge.

  • I am so glad I found this channel. Not irritating, abrasive, or annoying. I started with the video explaining the proper form of running, bc I felt odd. All these videos are very helpful, I will be looking into the books!

  • @AnamorphicDreams Yuri is big on taking in alkaline forming foods into your body (as opposed to acid forming). Carbonation is one of those very acidic substances. Plus, I am pretty sure one of his videos talks about caffeine. I was drinking 150 + oz of diet dr pepper and i stopped cold turkey. It hasn't been long but i am determined. I feel so much better too and my workouts are better as well as my performance.

    can i use this as part of a hiit session? like 20 seconds squat press then10 seconds rest??

  • @tchoilegend My rule of thumb is: select a weight that allows you to do 3 sets of 8-10 reps, failing on the last set.

  • agreed, this guy is the real deal and offers the best advice i've found on exercise, diet (especially raw food) and healthy living....his website has some great stuff on their as well, he has a book he plugs in every once and a while, but he's not pushy and its price is very reasonable and I will prolly get it eventually....i've learned allot from this yuir and am glad that I found his youtube channel, KEEPEM COMING YURI!!!
