A new music book is being published called 'You Are A Tube!' compiled by Steven Fried PLC. This publication contains literally thousands of comments from YouTube.
Hey, I'm looking for an instrumental funk-tune like this one, but I have no idea the name of the song.
Type in "Patrice Oneal The Black Phillip Show (05/17/2008)" into the youtube bar and on either video (like 2 hours long) then you'll see my comment linking the start of the music. I figured it was similar so someone here might know what it is, please and thanks.
@ImpreciseException Musically, they're brilliant. Musically, it's not that hard to believe they're Scottish boys. A lot of great muso's came of of Scotland. It's just a shame they're such tight asses when it comes to money.
@eldercurt53 - It was Robbie McIntosh. He was simply way ahead of his time in what he played and HOW he played it. I remember Jim Mullen hipping me to Robbie, as he played with him very briefly in Brian Auger's band.
As a bit of trivia, Robbie was the son of American actor, Bonar Colleano, from a 'liaison' Bonar had with a certain Scottish lady whilst filming here in 1949!
accuruneide , grazie mille for komentarie ! jeg er enig med accuruneide ! Vi tabte den unge generation med gammel musik- jazz, rok, bluz, and ect......
I'm so sorry for the today generation because they do not know what mean hear at good music. Unfortunely they only know remix, and remix is just a bad bad bad copy of the master piece SO... today generations: pick up the pieces hahahaah loosers
I saw these guys when I was in high school! Never seen so many hot dancing girls at a show in my life!! They could flat out get it goin' on! AWB forever!
Forget about Iron Man 2, this song was used better in the movie Swingers (also starring and written by the director of the Iron Man movies, Jon Favreau).
Well, this must be one of the best songs ever made. Great artists. Sounds as good as any thing else in this genre I have ever heard. Even a non fan like 36cheese36 (smile) has to give it credit and I quote... "So like this isn't my kind of music, but it's REALLY good for what it is. music like this must be a gem for fans of the genre." You got that right!
I had no idea what funk was til I heard this as an 8 year old in '74. Been a funkin' mofo every since lol. We convinced my h.s. jazz band director to add this to our folders. Man we blew the roof off the joint w/ this at basketball games and pep rallies!
Went to see this band live in Liverpool, about 1978ish, they were bloody awesome, they came back on for an encore and did the most amazing version of a slower version of "Heard it through the grapevine" for 20 minutes, absolutley epic night!!!!!
made Marvin Gaye's original sound like a poor relation awesome!!
Man....I was 3 when this came out & this was my favorite song...even back then. In 95, I met them...very, very nice people....still have my autographed card in a frame on my wall. I love you all....RIP, Robbie McIntosh....Alan Gorre...Love, you, bro!!!!
Heard this at Fred Meyers today, sounded cool. Can't beat the saxophones.
