  • Bend your knees a little more and it will look way better

  • na its not good

  • he is just a little out in

    front calm down guys

  • Dude your backside is so weak. Hips before hands. Slow the video down. Your all upper body. But good try rookie

  • This material is crap. Follow at your own risk.

  • @superjeff299 ok, well either way, i did this and i am hitting at least 1 ball over /5 feet from the fence every game.

  • @superjeff299 It's in the description. L2Read.

  • Great drills for practicing the fundamentals that could be practiced convenienty from home with the Hit It Sports net.

  • i have a problem when im batting and it is every time i swing i step towards third base instead of the pitcher so can you please tell me how to correct this problem

  • @jskdfhr this is just a suggestion take it or leave it but usually that happens when a batter is trying to pull the ball or he is not keeping his head in and on the ball. so maybe try keeping your head down and in on the ball but if that doesn't work than sorry. or maybe try not dipping your back shoulder cuz that can cause you to over rotate and open that front foot too much. But like i said take it or leave its just an opinion.

  • @vjlcolo thanks this really helps alot!!

  • just watch from 4:14 on.

  • do you need to drive your knee through

  • 0:58 haha needle dick

  • does he have a boner at 0:33 O.o

  • @insanecat1 why you looking?

  • @Thr0ugHxxxStruggle wasnt trying to... i was paying attention to what he was saying.. >.>

  • is it a good idea to fully extend your arms through a swing, say to hit a ball on the outside part of the plate?

  • @StarJekker

Why do you give a fuck? Learn how to create movement in the most effective way and your swing will look exactly like a major leaguer and you will maximize your power.

You will not accomplish anything looking at the physical body in slow motion and trying to match your physical body to a professionals.

First, mind is movement. Body is a symptom of movement.

Second, force is transferred inside the body, not the outside.

What you see in a swing is an effect, not a cause.

  • @StarJekker

    More specifically,

What you see in a swing is an effect of maximizing power, not a cause of maximizing power.

You can look identical to a professional hitter and produce very little power compared to what you are capable of producing. Emulating mechanics has never developed an average athlete into a professional athlete, and I personally don't see it happening anytime soon.

Learn how to create movement properly instead of copying side effects of power generation.

  • This is very standard, and very wrong, advice. No major leaguer actually looks like that at the Point Of Contact.

  • @thepainguyckol that is EXACTLY how any major league hitter looks at point of contact! stiff front leg, the "L" of the back leg, hands almost at full extension on contact, belly button facing the pitcher, and eyes on the ball. it's perfectly accurate.

  • @TheRiversOwn Nonsense. On their best swings, good hitters are not at extension at the POC, they do not swing level to the ground, and the bat is not at an angle to their front arm. Among other things, what this clip teaches is dropping the hands. Google "Rotational Hitting."

  • @thepainguyckol

Actually the best hitters produce movements in a very effective way. The best hitters often times look like high school and college hitters when swinging, yet they produce a hell of a lot more power and hit much more difficult pitches in much more difficult situations. This is not necessarily because there bigger, stronger, or more talented. They are producing movements in a more efficient manner.

Could you clarify how movements are generated since you seem to be an expert?

  • @TheRiversOwn

Who gives a shit? Why should anybody care what they look like? This is nothing more than a side effect of the power created by movement. "Mind is movement, body is the manifestation of movement."

You're looking at symptoms and act like they are the cause of the swing. How in the hell is what the parts of the body that can be seen by your eyes the cause of maximized power? Especially when power is transferred and directed in the inside of the body (Which we can't see)?

  • he explains it so smooth and his demonstration is on point thank you man i had a baseball game today and i did like 5 ground balls urgh had a bad day I keep getting on top of that ball this is how i should be batting thank you for the video

  • cockywatchman u r easily the dumbest youtuber i have ever seen in my entire life. you deserve a trophy for that and then you should proceed to stick it down ur throat

  • you dont weight shift

  • nice but ur front leg should be locked not bent.

  • thank u dude i played baseball for 3 years and i cant even hit the ball so i watch some of your videos and now it is all making sense now im gona work on my swing and ill see how i do in the major league thank you vary much

  • DUSTER

  • Poor mans cricket. Just swing and hit it-easy. Cricket is much more hard technically.

I went in the batting nets when I went to the US-I hit EVERY single ball at the top speed having never played before. Just because I am a cricketer. A pitch is a full toss in cricket-a very poor ball easy to hit.

Just my opinion, before all the fools start abusing me!

  • @cockywatchman1976 yeah i know ah, wish when i was batting i knew the next ball was going to be a nice waist high full toss.

  • @cockywatchman1976 you must be on a wind up mate! I watch both, I think you forgot these points- 1- baseball bat is twice the size. 2-you can add much more movement to a baseball 3 most importantly, if you just hit the ball as you would 99 percent of the time in cricket, you'd be out. You don't have 300 chances to leave balls you don't like. I would love to see a baseball team play a cricket team at both sports.

  • @jamesjonesrocket I've played both! And don't agree with you. I played the baseball pitching nets with some American guys who claimed to be big baseball fans and players...they could barely hit a ball, yet I, who had never played before, missed almost nothing! Just full toss after full toss. A cricket ball will move FAR MORE than a baseball, since it has a seam. But the real difficulty come with how the ball reacts off the pitch, another variable. Baseball's variable is air!!!!!

  • @cockywatchman1976 You missed my point, hitting the ball is not enough, most hits are caught or thrown out. Also, the guys you went with sound pretty crap. Pitching machines are designed to be hit, and only throw fastballs. If you hit against a decent pitcher who put some movement on it (baseballs are lighter and DO have a seam), you would find it more difficult - If it was that easy . why don't cricketers like you play in the mlb for millions?!

  • @jamesjonesrocket Because a, Im not good enough to play cricket, baseball or any sport for money!-everything is relative. b,baseball is a pretty boring sport (IN MY OPINION). i find there is little to baseball in comparison to cricket. Also I am not motivated by money. Money means zero to me.

  • @cockywatchman1976 If you're not interested in the sport, what are you doing commenting on it! for attention? get a girlfriend pal.

  • @jamesjonesrocket Trying to win an argument on youtube is like competing in the special olympics-even if you win (and you haven't), you are still retarded. You aren't my pal-your life with your boyfriend is clearly shit, since you spend the day pretending you know about sports. What a loser you are gayboy. Oh by the way, me and my Mrs are sitting here laughing at you, ya TOOL, pal

  • @cockywatchman1976 you've just proved my point- 'i'm not good enough to play the sport, but I can sit on my fat arse disrespecting the players who work hard in it' . You haven't got much of a life have you!

  • @jamesjonesrocket Baseballs hardly have a seam compared to a cricket ball. Cricket balls move WAY more-FACT. No more replies please. You annoy me with your childish, I know best its black and white attitude!

  • @cockywatchman1976 Everything's easy behind your laptop isn't it! if cricket was any good, it wouldn't be a minority sport played by gay public school boys or thick northerners like freddie flintoff. see, I can be a prick as well!

  • @sherriffflood Oh yes, you're a prick alright. As is proven by your gay comment. Haha, what a retard. Do you believe I would be interested in ANY retarded statement that comes out of your mouth. You're a prat, with confused sexuality. Any further comments will be deleted without being read-PS I fucked your mother up the arse last night loser HAHAHA

  • agree with a lot of people who said his weight is on his front. For some reason, a lot of people's slow motion "teaching" swing is always different than their actually swing. No doubt he was a good hitter, but how he hit and how he teaches hitting probably vary more than he realizes.

  • @RYENZRO well said sir!

  • @RYENZRO preach brother i agree

  • @RYENZRO

Can you name one professional hitter he has developed since he has the 'credentials' to develop hitters?

  • @RYENZRO I sent my LL team to see these videos, so maybe you can think of a word that doesn't start with F?

  • @dht084 You're actually right, and I apologize. I certainly could've exercised better judgment and used more appropriate English to get my point across. But if your LL Team is offended by a few "F-bombs", batting tips are the last thing they need!

  • ...and i was really hoping to get a video on check swings

  • The dude's playing college ball, which obviously means he knows something about hitting.

  • this guy is a fucking joke

  • This guy really does not know what hes doing, all of his weight is on his front side. Anytime a changeup or curveball or some off speed pitch is thrown, hes screwed. How spread out your legs are don't matter at all, as long as their not too close and not ridiculously far. Hes basically telling people how to do his own personal swing. Everyone has their own swing

  • exactly, right to the point. all the weight is on his leg, like the ending of a golf swing. this is baseball buddy

  • Seems like everyone who commented this video is a professional swing coach. What teams are you guys swing coaching for? Any chances I could get some autographs? /sarcasm

  • lol i was thinking the same thing

  • Watch major league video. People are simply making observations that this is not what the top pro's do. This is very far off, and I guarantee the guy doesnt swing like this in a game, but thinks he does.

  • proper mechanics are the opposite of what most coaches teach... i think its hilarious.

  • The swing mechanics are not perfect, but are okay - although he lowers his arms a bit too much vs tilting the bathead down. The real error, and a common one, is that he is hitting the ball off a tee in the center of the plate. Contact should be made at the front or preferably just in front of the plate. All tee drills and soft toss drills should reinforce that contact is in front of the plate. When you contact over the plate you lose power.

  • Grinninbear... You say hitting the ball deep makes you lose power? Hit the ball out in front of the plate? Do u actually sit and watch professional swings and analyze in slow motion? That answer is an obvious no. With proper mechanics, which this young man does not have, If u hit the ball in front of the plate, you roll over. The weight shifts forward, front leg lock, The lead elbow needs to work its way up and around the body, back elbow down and in. back shoulder dips, bathead below the hands

  • give the guy a break....he has the right idea of what he is doing he just doesnt know how to explain it as well as others......and bonds, bagwell and them all didnt have fucked up swings....they all actually had the same swing....almost every major leaguer has the same swing cept for K Youkilis or w/e his name is...

  • People grip it and rip it.

Bagwell, Bonds, Babe Ruth, for God sake Tony Batista......What do they have in common? They played in the majors and all had a f-up batting stance and swing.

Blend and adjust to you're own way which gives you the best results.

  • i have done better hitting lessons for people drunk than this - this is actually hilarious

  • I've seen alot of bad baseball swings, that ranks right up there. If you want your kids to be ridin the pine their whole lives, show them that swing

  • Of course you need to rotate your feet like that you freaking retardeds if you don't you are going to be off balance you will not hit the center of the ball and hit a pop out or groundout and will also lose a lot of power

  • wow ur fuking retarted baseball1755 his back heel is off the ground and he rotated his hips fine to the ball so who cares how his back foot ended up its all about the weight distributtion and getting the hips thorugh

  • Your not supposed to rotate like that on your back foot. you are supposed to get your heel off the ground. no offense but your not going to make it far wit dat swing

  • but after that you ruin it.... the swing sucks.... the hips don't ever turn....

if anyone wants to get anywhere, don't watch this video

  • i completely agree man hips are for two things dancin and romancin hahahahah

  • some good advice, "whatever works for you." - regarding the setup.

George Brett was big on that
