@xRonTheReaperx with bootcamp, you are just dual booting so you are not getting rid of os x. on start up of your mac, if you hold down the alt key, it will give you the option to boot into mac osx or windows

Or is it better because I currently run windows 7 on parallels and it takes up a LOT of ram and then if i want to export something in an windows only editing program, it will take a lot longer or it will have an error message saying theres not enough ram. when you finally get the windows installed on your mac are your able to log out, go to the start page where you enter your password and username, and either choose if you want to enter your computer on windows or you mac the way you had it??

the parition has to be bigger than 7gigs i recament AT LEAST 20 if you screw up reboot your computer while holding down option then you can boot back into OSX not the instilation disc

no, you would still have macOSX. bootcamp just enables you to do a dual boot so you can decide to use your mac as a mac or a pc

uh, backing up your files is always a good idea in case you accidentally delete your files or if something happens to your computer. i dont know if you lose your files if you use bootcamp, but you should probably back up your files. bootcamp works with windowns XP and Vista for sure. it probably works with windows 2000, but im not 100% sure. most likely it does, and the easiest way to test it is just to try installing windows 2000 through bootcamp
