  • sellers peak id say he would becme much more famous when the yanks heard of him but i dont think he ever did anything better

  • ''The management is wilfully jeropardizing the safety of it's employees'' LOL

  • Its a pity Sellers became such an international star, as he stopped making these wonderful British films.

  • sellers almost look like hitler with that moustache lol

  • What a send up . . .

  • No mines closed down.!!No chimneys?? central heating, but no factorys either...Your Point ..Please???????????

  • look where the unions got us today..

  • @SpeedTriple59 Yeah, limits on the hours in the working week, no kids or women down the mines or up chimneys. Tragic.

  • @WilliamDeGroins its crow you idiot. If you want to take the piss, get the name right prick

  • A brilliant movie. Remind you of anything today??

  • Fred Kite alive and well, currently using the name Steve Turner.

  • that is merley technical, pml

  • AHH unions what great times we had.then who was worse the managment or the union..lol

  • I think old Fred Kite is now working for the Health and Safety Executive now, slowly destroying industry from the outside this time.

  • Utter shower!! Classic British comedy.

  • one of my favs, along with wrong arm of the law .. two way stretch and billy liar..what great actors and great story lines we had then

  • I agree, jpck, it's a great Sellers performance. Check out his Brummie vicar in 'Heaven's Above' too. And Billy Bragg is a national treasure!

  • Maybe the best movie ever on union and corporate corruption and disloyalty. Instructive and hilariously funny.

    Go BNP. Go Nationalist.

    'Pro-Family, Stewardship, and Fair Trade.'

  • i love the bit when the stuttering bloke says - "they should go f- f- f- f- photograph something worth while for a change!"

  • Such wonderful characters and storyline. I was in a militant trades union in the late 60s/early 70s. Everything bang on! Everyone was on the fiddle, bosses and workers.

  • Sellers isn't the lead in the film but he is certainly the role you remember. Other fims gave more money or prestige but this is, I think , the best ,funniest and most accurate character Peter Sellers ever created . What is amazing is that todays union leaders [and Billy Bragg] still talk in this stilted " soviet speak " - I wonder if they pay royalties to Peter Sellers estate .
