Reserves are nothing more than IOU's, paper has no power. They only own 1.5 Trillion of our 14 Trillion Debt anyway. China is finished, these properties are being sold way too high, 90% of the homes can't be sold to the general population. Investors will start selling when no revenue is generated. This will wreck havoc on the global economy including the U.S..
What??? What kind of analysts are they? I'm an engineer, not an economist, but even I know their analysis is misleading. Over 79% of the world transaction are used in US dollars, so the dollar is pretty safe, despite fears, and what can the Chinese use those reserves for? But up American companies! Not just regular companies but high tech companies. Dangerous? For the Americans yes, but for the Chinese NO!!!
The mother of all bubble is the Dollar. Dont worry about China growing reserves of dollar... Worry about what there doing with the other 50% in profit they get and dont invest in foreign dept.
China could care less about there reserve, they know they wont get 100% back on there investment.
Why do you think they keep bying more? Because they could care less, there happy enough spending the other 50% in profit from there trade surplus in *REAL GOODS*.
Deb, You Rock! Great clip. The worst investment Ive ever make in my life was in U.S. Treasuries. And why Invest in some thing that's only goal is to take everything off of you to give it to the richest people in the plantant.
Not sure I'd call this a bubble any different from the US. They have to issue debt based on people wanting to invest in China. Same thing here, with our "world reserve" currency. Someone wants to buy oil? A dollar is made. Someone wants to buy gold? A dollar is made. Someone wants to buy Chinese stocks? Yuan is made. This is how they work the world over, inflate a currency, buy stuff with the inflated currency, and dip out before the workers can catch on. Thanks for the post, Deb.
Agreed, although some technical analysis shows they're floor support level is about $1060-1070.. cookies/crackers.. same thing I guess. Looks like we'll find out pretty soon.
When are they going to kiss?? Do they have other performances of them together??

Hmmm.. what to do with $2.4 Trillion in reserves...
They could start a ping pong league, call them the Hong Kong Ping Pongs...
They could buy McDonalds, turn them into a Chinese fast food chain, "gimme a big mac with kung pao fries"...
They could buy CBS, change the name to Chinese Broadcasting, and show Charlie Chan movies all nite...
