  • I can't stop watching this!

  • literally not heard or seen this game in over 15 years. Pure nostalgia right now.

  • Anyone know of any good working Amiga emulators or anyway i can play these games?

the Amiga is my childhood lol but last time i looked for an emulator about 2 years ago there was nothing worth using.

  • Why is captain planet so tiny and what's he doing when he flys down. I got cartoon classics for Christmas

  • Uberdude25 I got cartoon classic for Christmas aswell

  • Why is captain planet so tiny and what the hell is he doing with he flys down

  • loved this game as a kid, anyone know if u can play it online??

  • Great music

  • Cartoon Classics Pack... Best Christmas eva!

  • Thx sooooo much 4 uploading this, my mind just melted from nostalgia overdose!!! This game was sooo hard for me as a kid, I never actually got to the Captain's level :( Time for a re-try almost 20 years later!!!

  • This must be some sort of enhanced version - I have this on Amiga and it has the Atari ST level layout and enemy graphics (but with the colours of this version).

The melting ice platforms that Gi creates look different too. And I'm not entirely sure, but it kinda looks like you can make more of them in this one.

  • omg i wanted to cry when i seen this for sheer nostalgia alone, now to download ut :) seriously prob d best game ever! thank you, ur a legend

  • i remember a 12 hours of playing the game to finish it. If i remember right it hasn;t got any save option!

  • more games with italo disco soundtracks please

  • This always confused me - could you break the rings of all 4 Planeteers who have animals as part of their objective (by killing at least one) and still advance to the final level?

Anyways, this was my first childhood game and I spent obscene amounts of time playing it. Eventually I got to a point where I'd reach the Earth level consistently and there was one point about halfway through I could never get past, which in the era of no saves was frustrating to say the least!

  • heh heh, when Linka hovers it looks like she's flying on her own farts! that would kind of undo Wheeler's work repairing the ozone layer!

  • linka had the best music

  • Guys please help. I have 4 roms of this game but the ones with cheats on them crash at certain parts of the game. I really want a rom with a trainer at the start but plays all the way through. Any ideas? I own the original game btw.

  • @darkwhitty

Look for SPS or WHDLoad versions

  • @38:53 LMAO!!!!! Mati jumps into a helicopter smaller than him! xD

  • well it just goes to show I wasn't THAT smart when I was 11... I used to let the dolphins out the tank BEFORE sorting the water from the top first... DUH. I am embarrassed at my younger self >.<

  • I remember how my heart used to pound when you had to transport those cans in the ship.... OMG COME ON, THE WATER'S BLUE ENOUGH! CAN WE GO NOW?!?!?! I didn't have much patience at the best of times!!!

  • @14:55 LMAO!!!! HERE THEY COME!!!! Ahhh the nostalgia! xD

  • I'm deliberately not watching past the heart level, it's kinda sad but completing this game is one of things on my checklist before I die. : )

  • Captain Planet's level had the coolest music :)

  • One of my first Amiga games too! I think the reason why so many of us had it was probably because It came with the A500 in the Cartoon Classics package. Wow, 18 years ago! The graphics and the texture of colours show a good use of the Amiga's copper and blitter by the programmers.

The music is excellent - they really used the Paula chip quite well and it sounds even better if you turn off the FX as then the 4th channel is used for the music too. :)

Not my fave Amiga game but one I did enjoy.

  • Man this takes me back to childhood! I loved this game. I belive it was Captain Planet that thought me the importance of ecology :)

  • What the hell!!!!

  • no way did some absolute legend post a full video of this total classic. im dreaming, i must be

  • Yippee, this was my first Amiga game too, but me and my brothers never got past the heart level... after a couple of years we just forgot about it.

  • i hated joysticks on these type games as most i used the mega drive pad made easier

  • @JOCKATEO same here, never got the heart level.. this game was too difficult

  • @Faden111 i dont feel so bad now either after over 15 years! i never got past the <3 level either! so i'm thankful i get to see what happens finally!

  • what do giant mushrooms and tiki masks have to do with anything?

  • This is one of my favorite games on the Amiga. Gi is my favorite Planeteer that does the Water Attack. But Captain Planet is my favorite Super Hero too. Thanks for posting dude.

  • It would be a nice game if it wasn't captain planet game...

  • this music fuckin rules!

  • I only completed this game once.. Epic! You did die some stupid deaths, but yeah nice gaming nonetheless. =)

  • Music - We Music The Return = Antony Crowther and Ben Daglish.

  • I could only get as far as level 3. If I had made it to the end I would have been mightally pissed off with the ending.

  • Loved this game when it came with my amiga 500 pack in the early 90s. First game i ever completed

  • Loved this game when it came with my amiga 500. First game i ever completed

  • it has like the best 8 bit song i have ever herd

  • I loved this, came with my Amiga cartoon classics pack.

  • Good effort! 1st level i always used to leave all the squares til i had all the little aliens following me and went back for them to get a better score... only ever finished the 1st 4 levels unfortunately, got stuck on the rock one! Cartoon Classics package - immence!

  • i used to have this game when i was a kid ^_^

  • Does anyone know if there is a level select cheat or infinite lives - cheers

  • This game was rele fuckin hard.. altho i did suck ass at it as a kid cuz i cudnt even get past the 2nd level. Didnt stop me playing it tho, even tho i always died in the same place

  • @Amsterdasm

If you can't master typing as an adult then it's no wonder you found the jumpy jumpy collect collect action hard as a child...

  • Im suprised your unaware of this method of typing; wherein the individual shortens words to write messages alot quicker. Its quite common in the internet community, as well as text messages on mobile phones etc... Or perhaps everybody in the world should write out every single word at great length all the time, as i've done here, to please odious little shit-creeps like yourself..

  • @Amsterdasm

I suppose I'm meant to write back something about you mixing up you're/your? Nice attempt at going to "great length" to please me though!

  • This is wierd. Super Mario Bros format with upbeat music and all these creepy sperm monsters. What does this have to do with Captain Planet

  • @neddx

I give up, what DOES destroying toxic boxes and collecting polluted water droplets and avoiding damage to the ozone layer have to do with Captain Planet?

  • Uhhhh....got me

  • i remember playing this with my mate as a boy. good times.

  • Comment removed

  • @Djitzzz

No, Captain Planet was specifically designed to not work with any emulators at any time in the future. It is the only game so far that has evaded the emulation scene. (Apart from the dude who's recorded it IN THE FUCKING VIDEO YOU'RE WATCHING NUMBNUTS!!!!!)

  • I'm afraid it's been emulated. Took forever to find it, but it can be emulated on a pc using Amiga Forever and the appropriate download.

  • @mauroamatosi

    It's been emulated? I don't believe you!

Incidentally, are you aware this is a comment page of a video showing Captain Planet being emulated? Hello? McFly?????

  • What a loser!

  • @bensutherland

We can't all be winners like you, Ben...

  • back when games were so advances and fun, shame there weren't any saves in those days, how frustrating it was isnt even commentable.

  • how cool would a remake of this be or even a movie

  • I remember played a captain planet game once but I never had a amiga, was there a game of it on the nes too?

  • I loved this game. I got really sad when the little ghosts stopped following me around. Also, the title music was bizarrely great for such a ridiculously uncool game.

  • GOTY?

  • So the more little guys you collect act as some sort of multiplier for your score?

  • Captain Mario Bros. and the Planeteers.

  • The music on wheelers level makes me want to dance

  • I used to love this game

  • Great memories! This was a great game.

  • Anyone else missing the sound on this video after 15 minutes?

  • Looks like youtube's messed the audio up on the video. There is a speedrun of the game on the account which should still have audio. I'll try to upload a fresh version of this if I ever get time.

  • man that brings back memories. got this with the machine, lemmings and bart vs the space mutants. couldnt decide which to play first, but i think it was this

  • Aaw what a Game!!! i loved this game som much i never got a chance 2 get past ht elevel where u got 2 free the dolphphins cuz there was a error with my disc i still remember the music 2 this lol!!

  • This was my first Amiga game too! <3

  • this game gave me nightmares for some reason

  • I'd love to see a pc do this with a 9.14 MHz processor (PAL)....

  • fantastic!! remember playing this on the 500 plus amiga!!

  • In fact, the Amiga used a 7.06MHz processor (PAL), or 7.16MHz (NTSC). The reason, I'm told, is that an NTSC signal runs at 3.58MHz, exactly half of 7.16MHz, allowing them to use the same timing circuitry for both.

  • I stand corrected! Don't know where I conjured up 9.14MHz from... seems pretty random come to think of it!

    I should have said 7.09379MHz...

  • how do i do the cheat , i typed in go planet but nothing happens

  • this is the best game on amiga for me , god i miss the old days when games were games , music is also great for its time, i always got stuck on linka's level in the sub , wish i was a kid again lol

  • Where can I download this game for free?

  • The music's amazing. Especially Linka and the last level.

  • I've got this game on the WinUAE emulator and love it. I used to play it years ago. My mum used to stay up til about 3 in the morning every night trying to complete it. I only ever remembering her getting to the water part of Linka's level. But curious as I was at the age of 6 or 7 maybe older, I took the metal sliding part off the floppy disk. The game never worked after that and so mother dearest never completed it lol. I never did that again, except with games I didn;t like hehehe

  • haha...i was all chuffed when i got past the first stage but found Gi's level so f*ing difficult i just killed the friggin' dolphins!

  • wat is with those little creatures ? lol

  • Where can u get this game ? or where Can i download it on my computer for free lol?

  • 1: I never got past the Heart level either...

2: I have no idea what the 'enemies' are called. For some reason I called them moggies. Though I was 4 at the time

  • how do you ubloaded a 1:47hour movie?? oO on youtube

  • Read the channel FAQ :)

  • I LOVE THIS GAME! I dread to think how many hours of my childhood i spent playing this and still never got past the heart level, it was so hard! The music is legendary though.

  • Same hear mate, igot through so many joysticks just by getting frustated by this game.

  • this was a really hard game yeh, like the simposons was, but well worth thr perseverance. Was a state of the art game in the 90's, looks so dated now. That music LOL

  • Bloody hell, this brings back memories. Must be almost 15 years since I've seen this! Classic

  • I've just downloaded this game onto my laptop, that's how much I loved it as a kid! Never could figure out the water level and how to get the dolphins in the water so thanks for putting this up! :)

  • Mannnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn this was such a hard game i never got past the heart and water levels. Now im 22 i bet id have the patience to beat it LOL! I was so chuffed when i beat the fire level for the first time!

  • WOAHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!! i havent seen this game in over 15 YEARS!!!!!! memories!

  • this brings back memories of the morning i got the amiga with this lemmings and the simpsons - what a day that was!

  • Oh wow, I'm going to have to watch this through when I have more time and take notes! I still boot up my Amiga from time to time and am STILL trying to beat Captain Planet 17 years after I got it! LOL. Fire's the only level I find easy, Wind I can do with more difficulty and Water only by cheating. Can't pass Heart or Earth yet and so obviously have never got onto the Captain Planet level.

So many thanks for this vid - just knowing it IS possible to complete will help me be more patient!

  • you are a LEGEND!!!!!!

couldnt get past that F***** heart kid.

How much did he suck? all the others had cool powers and he had the power of MDMA.....

  • I have to admit, I liked this game when I was 9. In my opinion, the best captain planet game on any format, because this one showed a bit of imaginatiom in its game design.

    1. 2d platformer

    2. Flying sectons

    3. And captain planet? I never managed to get past level 2 unfortunately

  • The lesson we learn from this is, if you wanted to play your favorite cartoon and it was the 80's, you had to SUFFER for it.

  • I spent HOURS playing this game when i was little. Found it impossible to complete though!

  • Hey does anyone know where I can get an amiga emulator and this rom? seriously I need it

  • have you tried googling it, if so then i will try and get you the link for it. let me know

  • Collect the animals you've burnt, so that they follow you around, then climb so high you're on the clouds, to get to a spaceship you use to stop the hot air balloons from polluting the earth (and grab the parachuting pilots while you're at it). Once you've done all that, repair the ozone layer dropping on it things that a giant gives you, then and only then can you persuade the polar bears (situated on clouds) from walking on the ozone layer to safety. What a fucking random game. But a good one!

  • Of all the games that came boxed with my new Amiga so many years ago, this was the one I remember wanting to play the most. I also remember how disappointed I was when I found it was almost impossible for me to complete. Love the music though - thanks for posting!

  • loved this game i always got causeon the linka level lol

  • This Amiga version is much better than NES version.

  • This is rediculous. When I was young this game seemd so much cooler. it looks retarded now

  • not the worst game of it's kind, but colours are much overdosed, it almost hurts looking at it. then the ghosts that follow you all the time, simply annoying. some levels were much too hard. and the enemies are ridiculous. then you have to walk on the clouds to get to that aircraft - what a pile of crap. ^^

  • That sure as hell wasn't the Duke Nukem that I know and love, haha.

    (See Captain Planet's mission objectives)

  • HAHAH!!!

  • Is that why "forever" just won't come out?

  • Because Captain Planet killed him.

  • Now there's a game I thought I would never see again

    Those were the days...

  • The music to this game is superb and what a game it was.

  • Oops I meant to say this game wasn't that easy beacuse of how in depth it was. Imagine how gutted you would be if if your 3 quaters of the way through the game and there's a power cut of something?

Thank heavens for memory cards and save state nowadays indeed....lol

  • Yes I remember this game well also. I only got to the Linka Wind level. This game was that easy as it was in the days before memory cards of save state.

I'm sure I am not the only one who noticed the Lemming in Mat-Ti's level standing on the ledge at 38:05 - 38:10. What's the point of it? My guess is it was just a little cameo appearance because of the Amiga Cartoon Classics Pack that featured this game and also Lemmings.

Great Captain Planet walkthrough video though :)

  • Little different than mine version. What I had, first stage played with Ma-Ti then Wheeler, Gi, Linka and finally Kwame. Never got trought Kwame's stage. Also in that version what I had, those little enemies were a little different.

  • I loved this game.

  • Great video! I remember this game on the Atari ST

  • long forgotten cousin of super Mario 3 LMAO, can't say it was bad, these are the games we had back then

  • man i LOVED this ! so many hours spent on the game, not a second wasted. thanks!

  • This is really fucking mental. Ten bucks says it wasn't originally about Captain Planet before they decided to slap the license on it.

  • If I could play this now, it would be just as engaging as any other game out there. Classic platformer, I remember the music, fantastic

  • "Not a perfect run because i killed an elephant though i had a feeling he was going to turn evil you know."

Hee hee! Did he have shifty eyes? That's a sure sign of evil. LOL

  • This brings back memories! This was on of the games bundled with my original Amiga. It sucked then and sucks now XD

  • How creative... :>

    - Remove toxic/radioactive waste ("I'm gonna burn it!")

    - Fix the ozone layer! ("Alright. With duct tape?")

    - Clean the water!

    - Free the <insert cute animal>!
