Just to let you know, "Kitsune" is just fox. Any fox is a "Kitsune".
Also, you should practice your annunciation. You'd treat the "u" in Kitsune the same way you treat it in (and god do I hate using this as an example) Sasuke.
Every 100 years, they gain more magical power and wisdom, as well as a tail. At age 800 (because they are born with a tail), their 9th tail grows, and their fur turns white or gold. They become so powerful, they are almost divine, gaining omniscience (all-seeing).
Okami's Ninetails' Japanese name is 'Kyuubi,' anyway, which only translates to 'nine tails.' Pokemon's Ninetales' Japanese name is 'Kyuukon.' (a combo of 'nine' and 'kon,' the sound a fox makes) Damn fans and their fandom fail...
I'm sick of seeing people claim they belong to certain fandoms, too. It's like... those stories are at least 500 years older than you; they can't be hard to look up. Google and books you has, yes?
Ninetails was originally a japanese myth for the great fox god that tricked travelers(and making a good snack). It is also a korean myth aswell because of the japanese invasion of 1517 and 1905 that the people were forced to speak japanese. I believe the greatest ninteails is the original that started it all. I dont care for pokemon, okami, or naruto. I love to play them but i like the ninetails as ninetails not as a fantasy character.
I absolutely love Ninetails (from Okami). I hate how some people believe it's a rip-off from Naruto or Pokemon. It's like they don't give a care for the culture behind these mythological beasts. Ninetails (九尾狐) or Kyubi, is the strongest and wisest of all tailed foxes. I'm sick of seeing people claiming they belong to certain animes or video games. Okami, personally, has the greatest Ninetails of them all.
