acualy the schecianu is reserved for the first time a person is lighting the candels that year. if it happens to be night 1 then we do it, If the first time I am lighting candles on say the 4th night or even the 8th I would say the Schecianu.

Thank you, I have the menorah on my desk (reception desk) for my boss and want to respect his holiday by understanding it a little better.
