  • Funny how the guy who supports piracy has a full head of hair and is more calm. Meanwhile the nazi asshole,is bald with his testicles in a knot.

As he said before,it is inevitable to stop it. Just find means to support it and find new solutions.

  • Just like they are not entitled to make good movies,we are not entitled to PAY to watch their crappy movies. If they would lower the price and make better films other than their crappy Transformers ripoffs and AVATAR.

  • all these fuckin pigs want is money, fuck them i didnt ask to be born so why should i have to pay for shit!!!!

  • Jesus f'in' christ if you don't like these people don't buy their damn movies or songs. There are alternatives, aholes!

  • The movie and game industry, couldn't be in a better spot with piracy...

But by setting an example of a

couple of individuals, they can scare a percentage of the population into buying them... Making their products spread throughout the world, either free, or/and at a price and still being able to make a profit, for production costs and as an incentive for future projects...

  • i hate idiots who think man made laws ARE laws of nature. Human laws are virtually non existent,. as for piracy vs file sharing as i said when i saw this the first time.

    well see !!!

  • who stealing from who! Movies are over priced, drop the movie fees down to 5.00 Canadian at theater, and 3.00 on DVD and piracy will eventually end. It will be made cheap enough that it will discourage video piracy. The more it cost, the more roads are opened to provide it cheaper. If I want to buy new released movies on DVD, I can for 5.00, it's called competition! Now hollywood has digital competition! Video pirates are now getting guns and they will use them!! Thanks Hollywood!

  • how about hollywood stop making shitty movie that i pay for not knowing that they suck ass how about you guy give me my money back !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • fuck hollywood movie suck these day !!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • lol i love how the industry knows absolutely nothing the dark net never heard any one say that if i ever heard people say that i would slap them

  • Am I'm very upset that the U.S. government has created an operation to bring down online movie piracy as of yesterday. Pratically seizing 9 websites as well as their assets. Even U.S. Immigration and ICE got involved in it. Wasting money on an operation against piracy as if they were drug lords. The U.S. just keeps pulling MORE stupid stunts like these. It is no wonder that foreign countries laugh at us. :/

  • It's because of this that piracy has been much sought after nowadays. I rather watch a new release movie at my house and at ANY given time. On MovieTVLinks alone, it had 3.3 million visitors a month! The movie industry would make much more money if a legal site was created to watch new release movies. The market needs to change. It all comes back to supply and demand. The internet has made it easier to give people what they want at any time.

  • It's because of this that piracy has been much sought after nowadays. I rather watch a new release movie at my house and at ANY given time.

  • Yeah I would pay an annual fee to watch new release movies legally online if it were possible. The internet has made it much easier and faster to view such goods which is making rental stores obsolete. Several rental stores around my area have shut down. Having to pay $9 to see a movie in the theatre is just TOO much. I also see no point in going to watch a movie and having bothersome kids not letting me see the movie.

  • @MissLadyL09 I agree too. It's not that I most people don't want to pay, it's a mater of convenience. The market is clearly demonstrating how it wants to consume content, and the movie industry could make a mint if they catered to that market. - I.E. No DRM!!!

  • As the guy in the video said , there is no point of try to stop piracy as even if companys out protection like in games, then some group Like RAZOR or Skidrow would allways find way

hackers are every where and they will crack and protection what so ever

  • apperently from rumors and what not , the company had spent 200 000$ for the DRM which had been cracked 2 weeks after the release of the game. Then Ubisoft followed them with Assasins creed 2 and Splinter Cell conviction

but they got cracked as well. In fact the crack for Assasins creed 2 is only one file that allows the player to just play the game without the DRM system connected online the whole time.

  • the guy who is defending the side that piracy is a good thing is smart

as we can see what is happening the game industry with all that DRM

as all the big companies are like OOHHHHHHHHH all pc gamers are pirates.....

but the truth is the DRM and anti protection software just makes the customer unhappy and unsatisfied with the product that they got.

    great example is Rockstar

what they did to GTA 4 oo yeah

they put a DRM system which was ment to protect the game

    AS IF

  • If they lowered the price for DVD's there would be so much piracy, same with CD's. People don't have money to burn these days.

  • the darkest clusters of the net hahahaha

  • THE way some people get stuff for free... You would need to be a PIRATE and you don't even need to hide it, unless you want to keep the cops at BAY.

  • piracy is not theft

  • I only buy Blu-rays because they are too big for my space and a disc is 15 bucks each other then that long live free stuff (just don't sell it)

  • Does internet sharing hurt high budget film and music companies?

    Yes, it probably does.

    Is that a bad thing?

    No, it is not.

    There were movies before Hollywood.

    There was music before Pop.

Killing the greed does not kill the artform.

I understand that the quality of the production would be VASTLY lowered, but I would much rather see that kind of money spent on those productions go to people who don't know if they are going to eat today.

  • If something is good its gonna make money regardless, and its just more exposure and word of mouth.

  • what laws of nature? you dont need to GIVE anything, cinema, concert and fanbase are still good moneycows! I wont pay jack shit for rammsteins albums but il camp for a week to pay 70 bucks to see them live! the mp3 and mp4 files are good advertisement since i have never heard them on radio or from a commersial CD.

  • The laws of nature are responsible for the current situation. It cannot be another way.

  • he owned MPAA , long live piracy and he is said truth about this , they care only for the money and the content sucks , why would i buy a movie when it fucking sucks and i watch it a single time , if i buy it then i make 100 copies and give to my friends then it's worth it , a movie should cost 0.25 cents

  • MPAA suck my balls , keep downloading and share

  • the world keeps turning, the music and movie industry needs to adjust instead of moaning.

  • Just because I don't have to pay, doesn't mean I never will (I know there's no such thing as a free lunch and others do too). The sooner MPAA stops criminalizing potential consumers, and trying to stop the wind from blowing, the better off we will all be.

  • Dan Glickman looks like he's about to have a coronary.

The piracy equivalent for cars is making a car yourself that resembles a Mercedes from custom parts, NOT stealing one from a dealership as the big industry wants us to believe.

  • Wow. How the fuck is a car equivalent to a file that doesn't physically exist. All music distributors like iTunes are simply putting up a server and making you pay for something you could do by yourself. You could copy and paste a file a million times on your own computer.

  • wow that guy speaks the truth, anyone know his name?

  • is it just me or does Dan Glickman seem like he's full of shit? Just seems fake the way he gloats about.

  • He just looks like an idiot. And closed minded.

  • they are rich because of us. They want a god givin ticket for limitless money for a one time performace, expecting us nine to fivers to pay for them to get gold teeth and chains. i think they are the criminals. let them make money doing concerts, "doing work" . We can't download a car, that guy is a dumbass. If they wanted to protect their movies stop rental stores and the net sites that offer it. we still support them so they should be thankfull, not put us in jail because we wanted to see one

  • the dark net???????

  • the movie industry have a huge inflated ego problem. We the people are what keeps them going. Yet they keep raising prices on movies and make us buy there good . when i was little it was 4$ to see a movie at my local place. now its 10$ 2.5x the price in a few years. it costed me 4$! to buy a 500ml bottle of fanta . We dont need to change for the industry they need to change for us they making us download films by treaty us like crap.

  • Well we all have to adjust, it takes more money to make movies today than it was before. And WE the people are the ones that keep them going by paying them to do their job since we are benefiting from their job, but they just have to benefit for the job too they also need money. And if they were were not to adjust than they wouldn't be able to produce high quality entertainment because they wouldn't have enough money or their workers morale won't be good enough.I realized how old your comment is

  • i agree. "stealing and sell for it profit" seems to be the issue. people that do that must die because that's the reason why there's a search for certain "sites" are getting shut down.

so people like that must die

  • so if you have a dvd and a video camera and plug it into the dvd player and record it and put that on your ipod and thats all you do with it is that still piracy

  • well, technically its not if you dont show it to people in a public area or charge to see it. you paid for your movie and you have the right to put it on your ipod. but, if you do it for others, then thats piracy

  • it's not "piracy", but it could be illegal, depending on where you are, and the DVD. Many dvds are digitally protected, and any attempt to copy them, even if you fail, is illegal in the US, and many other countries.

  • stupid dinasour MPAA tried to kill the VCR and the mp3 players for "piracy", later it became its main form of revenue. stupid fuckers just dont want to adapt to new technologiew!

  • so true, all they want is profits. how come you see dumbass singers getting major deals like the jonas sisters and britney spears getting big money for it. i've heard unsigned artist do way better than them. they should be paid less and people would just buy there album.

  • Sure I'm ripping movies onto my computer as I'm watching this video. So Because I already own the DVD that I'm Ripping it now constitues as theft? But I already bought it! That's FUCKED! Yes I admit I have rented out movies and ripped it on my computer. So what I stole data that I rented, but yet the video store still got their movie back. Ok I took the zero's and ones from the DVD and kept it. Holy fuck man! Stop your bitching and take Phillips to court for inventing the DVD! SHIT!

  • I say the hell with copyright! If the people of the music and movie industry are afraid of loosing money because of piracy then DON'T RELEASE ANYTHING! Yes I am a Pirate. I belive in the whole ordeal when it comes to buying milk when all I have to do is goto a farm and steal the cow! HAHA nahh I would buy my cow! But I mean hey DVD's comparing to clothes, come on man! Why buy 50 cent clothing when LEVI's is the contractors for the jeans. Come on it's stupid!

  • Burning DVD's is great. it's so ridiculous how an axe murderer can get more of a fine then someone who gets caught selling a few DVD's.

  • The movie industry can't die. For a start the industry is showing growth rather than signs of dying already. However it won't die because simply if it did there would be demand for it again and it would simply appear again.

  • Darknet. I like that a lot.

  • you can tell the that president guy is technologically dimwitted just by how he talks. "We do need to find new ways, whether it be by Internets, or, whether its iPod or by remotely accessed information. Isn't remotely acessed information from various parts of the world THE INTERNET(s)??

  • Pretty much yeah :)

  • That reporter hadn't got it.

"dodgy quality and dodgy downloads" you'll get everything from dvd-quality to hi-def movies.

  • There are too many of us. They cant stop us. We will destory their industry.

  • I'd rather it change than be destroyed. Having said that, if things were as bad as the MPAA try to make out they are, then at least one big-name studio would have gone out of business by now, but none have!

  • If they cant have their profits hand over fist like they do now, they would rather go out of business than change. Certainly, some will adapt, and they will rule after the rest of the MPAA collapses, and they will deserve it.

  • i agree wit u brother they will never stop us

  • @ShaneKorte Even if you did "destroy their industry" then they would simply stop making movies. Who really wins there? Not you.

  • we're free to buy your crap, that's not a king..

Wanting to make us consumers, without few alternatives is hardly a free market..

It's more like: 'Finally The SCUMPirates, get Pirated

    themselves'!!

  • movie companys just like the music companys have been ripping the general public off for so long that now the boot is on the other foot they dont like it :-) everytime they take someone to court they lose money, customers and popularity

  • If they sold DVD's for £5 each, Piracy would be *wiped* out overnight, they would generate MORE SALES, and MORE CASH for their deep pockets, thus everyone would be happy, But of course PROFITS before VALUE with these big tycoons.

  • Similarly, I would like to buy DRM free XviD/OGG video files too. I know a lot of people want all the cases and extra discs, but I just like having everything on one hard drive. Even the music industry isn't quite there yet, so it'll be a long wait for the movie industry to wake up.

  • They day I see broke producers and rock and movies stars begging in the streets I might consider buying at the inflated rates, but I can't feel too bad for the filthy f'ing rich. besides, they still have concerts, advertising, merchandising, corporate images, box office collections... the industry is far from broke and personally I don't think a little humility would hurt them.

  • I feel much the same. It makes me sick how the only ones crying foul seem to be the ones who make more money in a year than I'll see in a lifetime - for doing what? I think humility is indeed needed, it's not as if they're doctors or anything.

  • This is how i see it. Ok, i understand that the movie and music business want to make a profit, and internet piracy is stopping them from making as high a profit as expected, but there are people who are dedicated to certain films/musicians to pay money for their work.

Look at The Dark Knight last year, that made $1,001,921,825 worldwide. If Internet piracy was as bad as people say, then i doubt that The Dark Knight wouldn't have even made a quarter of that, as everyone would've downloaded it.

  • Power to Piracy

  • If everyone from the middle working class copied DVD's and CD's and the MPAA and RIAA arested all the working class violators and put them in jail then sales will decline even more! Think about it!

  • As long as prices are high so will the piracy! even thou it is not that high as the mpaa or riaa say it is! its bullshit!

  • FUCK the MPAA. Im gonna back up my DVD's rather if they like it or not! Fuck the RIAA! im gonna back up my cd rather if they like it or not!

  • Rock on!

  • They make bittorrent sound evil... "Darknet.."

  • Excellent opening salvo between MPAA's Dan Glickman and and EFF co-founder John Perry Barlow - be sure to check out the detailed text and link from David Gilson.
