I love how especially in America people will shout "Free Tibet!!" at the top of their lungs without realizing the irony in it. Maybe in China people should shout "Free the Native Americans!!" I don't support China's occupation of Tibet however at the same time I don't think we have any credibility to say things like that since we have occupied the U.S for almost 500 years now not to mention since we are occupying 2 other countries at the moment as well.
What I don't understand is that I hear so many voices calling out to help Tibetans gain their freedom from Chinese government, but I hear absolutely nothing from the same people calling to help the rest of China from the same government. To say the CCP specifically targets Tibetans and treats them badly is grossly inaccurate because they treat EVERYONE badly (remember Tiananmen Square?). If the Tibetans have a right to protest and beat ppl on streets, does that mean other Chinese do as well?

And - remember that your government shut down the line between mainland China and YouTube the other day.

I could easily say the same about you. So, you all think everything that's presented to you on American news isn't propaganda? It goes both ways. China uses propaganda to brainwash its people, and the United States does, too. Both sides claim their version is the truth, information is distorted or manipulated to arouse public support, and the actual truth lies somewhere in between.
Take the war in Russia and Georgia for an example. Fox and CNN are doing exactly what they did with the whole Tibet/China rage. People only look at facts that support their side and look for evidence to refute claims against them. Again, I'd to emphasize that I'm speaking on behalf of both the US and China. I'm not saying China isn't in the wrong. But quite frankly, I was appalled with the Western media's presentation of the entire ordeal. It was completely bias and wasn't remotely objective.
