I have super oily hair, yet if I don't put conditioner on my roots they'll be dry and lifeless. I don't think one rule of thumb can work for every person. If your is dry, you'll need more conditioner. If it's oily, use it sparingly and concentrate on the ends. And he didn't mention you're supposed to rinse your hair with cool water to close the pores. You really can't trust some stylists.

@makeupbykatief The shampoo already washes out all of your hair's natural oils anyway. The purpose of rinsing till your hair "squeaks" is to make sure all of the product (shampoo and conditioner) is thoroughly rinsed out. If not, then you get a buildup of leftover shampoo and conditioner and then you'll have to wash your hair again sooner.

If you've got a really good shampoo and you're concerned about not using too much of it anyway, what's the point of washing your hair again? Is it really that dirty (provided that you don't overload it with styling products)?

Also, hairdressers can't seem to agree on the numbers. For example, in another video, a hairdresser from Saco says that hair usually needs only 1 application of shampoo and that more than this can lead to flyaway or static results or just leave your scalp unprotected.

The shampoo he used was from Kerastase, and it's from the resistance range and is named bain de force. The conditioner is called ciment anti-usure and is from the same range and brand. those two products are for fine or weakened hair due to bleaching, straightening etc.. gl!

I need waay more conditioner because, unlike his models, I have quite curly hair and it would go frizzy if I didn't condtion my roots and leave in the condtioner for a while... Sorry but also that was rly sort of... not properly scrubbed... also I pile all my hair on top of my head when I massage in the shampoo because it helps it get clean! This guy is an absolute clown.

If you don't have really thin hair like hers then that amount of shampoo is okay. I would have use my finger pads a bit more vigorously on the scalp and for longer.

It's the same thing with the conditioner. I need way more condiioner than her, I have a lot of hair and it's thick.

I know many people have already answered the question, but I just wanted to mention that if you wash in really hot water, not only does the heat dry out your hair it damages it. The heat makes your hair much more prone to break and have split ends. Not only that, it takes away the shine and luster of your hair.
