  • this guy came all the way to ohio and played Gonna Fly Now with my marching band and it gave me chills i was honored to be able to perform with somebody with such skill

  • Tasty trumpet solo.

  • im confusecd, why did they blur out the tenor sax on the close view?

  • GO TROMBONES!!! Amazing solo. This is called "The Light at the End of the Tunnel" for all aspiring trombone improvisers.

  • all band directors should be trumpet players! mine was!

  • same

  • mine too lol

  • @DiVeronica I disagree - my band director was AWESOME and he was a long-time sax player.

  • Wonderful! I've enjoyed many a video to ATB here but this has one of the best audio although not the best video. One comment, leader Ed Morrison seems to rarely take a Jazz solo. Too bad, as here's the proof that here's another thing he can do & do excellently. Don't be so modest, Eddy; spread your wings and fly!

  • Oh,Howard....stop!

  • Nice tight ensemble sound!!! Great support from the lead trumpet!!!!! Do you by chance have a copy of the lead trumpet part???

  • Its not the lead trumpet playing the lead part. Its the solo trumpet playing Lead.

  • Actually, we both have lead lines. Solo part goes to a B and lead part to F#....

  • Completely agree, lead trumpet plays most of the F#'s and the solo trumpet has the option of playing or laying out. Wayne usually lays out on the unison parts, but the G at the beginning is usually the solo part, but I think the lead part played it. Great lead trumpet playing on this video!
