I used to go to Klooks Kleek (spelling ??) in West Hampstead around about 1967 or 68. FM had a residency there for about 6 months. I used to stand right in front of the stage watching these guys. Quite often Jeremy Spencer either wouldn't show up, or he'd turn up pissed. There was a lot of booze and drugs around and sadly it took a devastating toll on all of them. But what music .... The English Blues !!! Ah memories.....
@psychoprosthetic Thanks. I'll listen out for more examples of Danny's singing. Strangely enough, although Jeremy is better known, and has a lot of support here on You Tube, I would have been happy with just Danny and Peter. Just a personal opinion, and I'm not trying to offend anyone who supports Jeremy. This is a matter of taste, not right and wrong, and anyone with different views from mine has an equally valid viewpoint. They all did great work but Jeremy seems to me the least sincere.
I am not sure Jeremy Spencer is more 'famous' on YouTube or the internet than Danny - who still is indeed very underrated. But on the rest of your post I can nothing but agree. Danny was an original talent (gifted guitarist, singer, songwriter), while Jeremy was mostly just an impersonator, who came more or less redundant after Danny joined the band - although Jeremy played some really nice slide on Purple Dancer.
yes, thanks for sharing this, I personally think Danny was the most underappreciated member of PGFM.... Although, I love Jeremy and Peter.... Danny had such talent as well...
Jeremys slide, Dannys Vibrato, and Peters, well everything lol... made for one hell of a blues band......
I'll come out and ask; Does this have anything to do with Peter Green's successful return to the stage this year? Afterall, this was recorded at Peter Green's home. The home recording sounds so clean, and clear it has to be first generation. Thanks blueice0170 for this great find!

Every time I think I've heard it all, I find a new one. FM's early output is huge for a band so underrated.
