dave i get a email everytime you do a new vid ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,and i have too say that what a wonderful thing you do for so many is take the time out of your life and do videos like this one that helps people in so many ways.
have too give you credit ,,,not too many pros like yourself would give out the info you do every week for free
wonderful job dave ,have a great day stay safe and thank you .mike
I'm really loving the more lesson oriented videos lately. Riffs are great, and keep them coming, but I think having the tools and knowledge of how to create riffs is much more valuable.
I asked myself a year or two ago why my improv doesn't sound too strong and realized that it's because I'm not repeating my ideas and emphasizing them. There wasn't much wrong with the ideas themselves at all. this is a great lesson and a very important note for all improvisers on any instrument
i really dig that les paul. im considering getting one after i get out of the army in a few years. what year model do you think is the best for quality in the gibson les pauls?
your best to look and listen to the sound of a few different guitars before you find one that suits you,you gota feel comfortable it helps.ive got a twenty year old E>S>P-ltd edition+it sounds gr8,but i would like a les paul too!!rocknroll
unless your a professional i wouldn't get one. Gibson has got poor quality control. Check out edwards, burny, and other japanese guitars of this sort. The les paul is a very iffy design in general. but its your decision
I love the quality of your camera, what brand and model # is it?

When you improvise, what rules is there? Stick to the key of course, then? Like timing for each chords, timing on the beats, etc?
Matheus222 2 years ago
No rules, baby. That's the fun of it.

That little improv run you did at 2.40 or so sounded like something Al Di Meola or Mike Stern would do... thats something to be proud of!

ibanezbloke, that's exactly what I was thinking! And the funny part is that it was a bad example.

I never thought of using this "motifs", thanks for this lesson.. It helps me a lot Dave..

really great lesson. i never thought about how motifs are repeated in improvisation. it would be cool to see another expansion on motifs.
