what do u feed a catfish when it gets big? i want to buy a catfish that gets 10inches big, right now its about 2 inches. what do i feed right now and when it gets big? thinks
@xenrah its not necessary to put a thick layer of substrate .because .your peacock bass and others will be scooping it up into their mouths when feeding
Well of course I love the tank, but I probably would done a thicker layer of sand. The visibility of the bottom of the tank glass takes away from the "natural habitat look"
And here I am, taking care of two betta fish in a 2.5 gal each... *sigh*
I'd love to some day have a tank that big and with that kind of lighting in my house. The room it'd be in would be the most relaxing and mesmerizing place ever. I'd just try not to crowd it as much.
Excalty how was this built? I am getting ready to build a home and plan on doing something huge. By the looks of it... Wood framing with extremely thick glass. Love the Motoro, have 3 in my 370. An amazing tank you have.
datnoids, arowana, p bass, motoro rays, pictus catfish, silver dollar, airapima. and i think i saw a bichir and spotted gar, tarpon. and what no pacus or red tail cats?
Larger aquariums have less obstructions around so the fish have the most possible room to swim (in most cases) only reason I can see not putting anything down like slate is because of the stingrays, they will scrape their disc on the sharp edges of the slate which will then cause more problems from there. But otherwise this tank is really clean and the fish are amazing. Only thing I can see outgrowing would be the aripima but that's a lot of room for a lot of fish.
One thing I notice about large tanks is that the aquascaping is always kinda lame. I think one thing I'd do is put some black slate under the sand, I've seen people do tile, its ok but plane black slate would look best when the sand gets pushed aside.
i had my basement turned into a 11500 gal. freshwater aquarium for $70000 and ive been looking for an arapima for a long time i want to know where you got it iwould gladly trrade a 3ft 6 inch. wolf fish and a 6ft ??inch 60 year old red philapeno eel or a school of 11 full size black piranha or a 9ftlake sturgeon for him
All my dream fishes! STs, P14s, Azuls, Kelberis, Orinos, Australian Lungfish, Emperor Blue Hooks (Black bar silver dollars), Arapaima, Dorados! You just need a few Asian Arowanas to make it a perfect comm :)
@MrEdarruda...I think the owner of this huge masterpiece knows what he's doing with his Fish...None of the Peacock's look as if they are starving do they?!...He's hardly a beginner to the hobby that needs every Tom, Dick and Harry trying to give him 'useful' advice, just my opinion but i reckon he knows what he's doing!!!

@AugustousKing No I know they are not salt water! I am saying if it was my tank I would have made it a saltwater aquarium and put saltwater fish in there. But the tank is still REALLY awesome!
@Lilsaintaz That looks like de-shelled cocktail shrimp. Those are good food for smaller fish, too, you just have to push the shrimp through the small holes of a cheese grater.
nice tank but its really overstuffed.. lol get rid of half the fish or so and it would still look amazing and they could live much happier lives?... either way nice tank mate
What are the dimensions of the tank? And do you feed them so much everyday? @everybody else- lol in my country these fish are easy to get... only the datnoid and tigrinus are hard to find...
