Too heavy on top but it works and a good job by the maker. Couldn't it be made of two fans, one on each side mounted on pontoon- like floaters shape of torpedoes for added stability and control. I noticed he almost tipped over but saved by the paddle.
Check out "air powered kayak" if you thought this was good. I hope you reconfigured your throttle / steering control, terrible arrangement. I thought you were gonna flip towards the end of the video.
You might need that second directional flapper on the back to gain more power in turning corners..... There r white water kayaks that have square ends, flat bottoms. Then u might b able to use the propeller setup from the motorized para-sailer's to power your boat. Hydro plaining here you come.
@ScoutCrafter Could you not get a muffler for a small engine instead of using your neighbors weed wacker? LOL And if you steal your neighbors muffler make sure your boot is open and empty first...lmao
i can only imagine how the people along the canal love that low muffled noise. wouldn't be surprise if you get hot dogs thrown at you from those trying to enjoy some peace and quiet is such a lovely setting.
Great for static display. possibly a little top heavy. Looked as though you almost did a half roll there a couple of times. maybe a 4 cycle mounted low as ballast and belt drive the prop?
Thanks! I think the next one will need more power though, 1hp wasn't exactly warp speed!
I really like you gas turbine by the way. I was very impressed, now I'm thinking I want to have a go at making one! I imagine it took quite a while to get it working that well though. How much thrust can you get out of it? Any plans to attached it to a vehicle?
I havnt measured the thrust. but there are vids of these powering gokarts and bicycles. It took me about 100 hrs in all ,mostly research and development. I only plan on using it as a static display at the mo. Cheers
@woody753397 1 HP is plenty. You were moving along at a really good clip.
I thought I wasn't going to be impressed based on your statement but that's a really setup you got there.....make sure and wear hearing protection. LOL
It's pretty cool and fast. Love the invention! The main thing that seems a little out of place in my opinion, is the noisiness of the motor. But I guess folks who put motors on kayaks aren't too concerned about freaking out wildlife. lol awesome. I think you deserve a patent!

That is absolutely genious! I can well imagine its fun going with that. Noise is quite high, but honda has 4-stroke trimmers

Put a T into the hose that feeds the carb then rig a hose hooked to the T & a bottle of 2 cycle oil. Squeeze the bottle & wa-la, you can make clouds!

This is actually pretty awesome! Most vids I've seen of trimmer engine powered boats are really unsuccessful, but you pulled it off!

a regular 1hp outboard could not have achieved those speeds, well done

Awesome but people in the UK hate noise!
Now if you were state-side people wouldn't mind so much! ;)
