ur the most awesome and simple teacher ever omg yesterday i can speak a little japanese and now i can just go to japan and like comunicate with everyone!!!
I'm a little confused on the context of when one would use Konbanwa and Oyasumi. Which one do you generally use for good evening and a greeting? Does anyone know?

yay! Now I can learn some actual Japanese besides a few words here and there, for when I take Japanese with my friends next year xD ARIGATOU Asakura-san!!
yes but that is like konichiwa, its use when you meet someone, oyasumi nasai its used to say good night but in order to wish them a good rest, hope that helped =D
The word for english is "eigo", just thought I'd impart some wisdom there lol. Now you can say the full sentence in japanese (which is nihongo if you're wondering).

@Funkthefunkyfunk konbanwa is used for good evening/ greeting someone during the evening time
evon22163 1 year ago
@Funkthefunkyfunk Konbanwa for an evening greeting.Oyasuminasai is when u are saying goodbye at nightime or tucking ur children into bed.:-)
fr1zz1y 1 year ago
@Funkthefunkyfunk
Konbanwa is a greeting used at and after evening.
Oyasumi is a "last good-bye for the day" (used only past evening)
So you use Oyasumi when going to bed, or for the last time you will talk to the person because it is very close or past bedtime.
Did I help?
