i have a 29 gallon biocube. i have some kind of gunk that is floating around on the surface. u can see through it into the tank, but i think that a protien skimmer will get rid of this. do you think so?
you could use a skimmer,, but good surface movement will help keep it mixed in and you would need that even if you had a skimmer.. watch what kind of foods you feed ..a lot of flake and some pellet's tend to be oily.
Thank you, I may now have to reconsider rescaping due to your generous comment. My Cleaner has been in my tank for over a year, he has been very happy until just 2 days ago I inherited a 6 year old Bannded Coral Shrimp, not sure how this will all work out, but I will keep my eyes open for any trouble.
what kind of lighting is that?

Fantastic! I love your aquascaping. How long have you had your cleaner shrimp? I've heard that they don't live too long in home aquaria.
