  • remember when Brown grew that sweet stache last year on the Leafs?

  • clean hit

  • You pussies need to shut the fuck up. Its hockey not some bullshit faggot sport. get this bloody bitch off the ice.

  • @ilovetoskate90 shut the fuck up, u never wanna see a player go down hurt, i would like to see u get up from tht hit

  • @ilovetoskate90 areyou kidding me? thats why they have rules, it was dirty. arrogant idiot.

  • To be clear, Pronger is probably the biggest 6'5" puss that ever played hockey. Yes, I know it was a ht by Mike Brown....but just look at his face in this vid. Go watch ever other hit by Pronger on youtube or anywhere else....he's not a tough guy....just a cheap shot sissy.

  • Fucking scumbag.

  • Soooooooooooooo "LIKE"

  • hes lucky hudler didnt have a gun

  • heads up

  • Pronger gets sexually aroused by blood. the guy is a dirt bag even by anaheim standards.

  • Watch the CBC camera angle of the same hit. It's all shoulder and his elbows were tucked. No stick either. I watched all the angles of this hit before I formed my opinion.

  • I don't know but if you listen like before the hit you hear a hockey stick tap the puck. I think by the boards the wings player gets a peice of it before the ducks player gets possession of it. I think the wing player must of tapped the puck to avoid a icing if it gets behind the ducks net. I guess listen right before the hit you hear a stick getting a piece of the puck. but you can't see this happening unless we get a cameria angel from the other side of the ice.

  • Rule 56.1 "The last player to touch the puck, other than the goalkeeper, shall be considered the player in possession. The player deemed in possession of the puck may be checked legally, provided the check is rendered immediately following his loss of possession."

As to the calls of charging, he stopped skating towards him and coasted the last 20'. You need to skate or jump into a player for charging to apply.

  • @xtoad666x : so lets say a wing player has the puck and he clears it down the ice and it's at the other end. Can the oppsite team player still hit the player that cleared it down the ice when it gets to the other end??

All I am saying that when I played hockey we were told that the puck had to be near you even if you didn't touch the puck if your near it you can get checked. if your not near the puck you can't get checked.

I ask becase I didn't know this rule. Thanks for the reference.

  • @xtoad666x : Maybe the refs think the players got the puck. before the hit???? Still I think their restarted. To me I know the hit occurred before the puck got touched. I could see how the refs could call a penalty for elbowing. Their elbows needs to be touched in before a hit.

  • @xtoad666x Agreed. I am a Wings fan and I'll admit, after this hit I was pissed. But after watching the replays, hearing the actual rules, and watching the replays again, this was completely legal. Hudler should've kept his head up and aware, instead of admiring his pass. Brown hit him about a full second after Jiri let the puck go. Elbows tucked, hit with the shoulder....nice, clean hit. Shame that Hudler got as fucked up as he did though, but....it's a rough sport.

  • This is what's called headhunting.

  • It's clean because the last player to touch the puck is considered in possession and can be checked legally.

  • @xtoad666x : your wrong. You don't need to have possession of the puck. You need to be in the area of the puck. The refs are retarted. It shouldn't be a interfering call. It should have been a 5 minute major for elbowing.

Look right before he hits the wing player. His elbow rises. No clean hits draws blood. Unless the player gets hit and runs into the boards or something but still it wouldn't draw blood because of clean hits.

You can only hit a person with your shoulders and hips.

  • @shyhockeyboy he bled because he was wearing a visor (as he walks away you can see the red line on his face from the bottom of it, with the cut on his nose). Brown's elbow didn't rise before, it rises upon impact.

There was less than a second between release of the puck and the hit. It's called admiring your pass. I'll say it again, the last player to touch the puck is considered in possession of the puck and can be checked legally. I'm not making this up. It's directly from the NHL rulebook.

  • @xtoad666x I'm curious about how you look with a nose where he is bleeding.

The bleeding is over to the left of his left eye.

You can also see that Brown has his stick right where Hudler had his face during the hit.

But then again, you clearly didn't look at what happend.

  • no matter what all these haters say about redwings fans being cryers yoou guys are just bad that our fans actually have something to cheer about year after year and they can actually pull through year after year like all these duck fans maybe you guys should cheer on some other team so your not trying to take it out on other teams fans that are actually good

  • this game sucks... why this shit game always like this??? explain??? why not fight in the ring so it will be a real man to man fight,,,

  • ah yes... hockey. You gotta love it when someone pulls a stunt like that and either gets an insignificant warning or a 5-minutes penalty then comes back in the game.

this is why i stopped watching ages ago. i watch soccer now where people care more about the game then the fighting wasting our time.in soccer at least, you get one warning only then you're out of the game.

  • @anakin11380 Are you kidding me? Soccer is full of the biggest bunch of overpaid, whiny fakers in any sport played today, Every soccer player is a giant pussy who goes down as if he has a broken leg when someone steals the ball from him. In hockey at least, no one wastes your time acting like a giant fucking pansy.

  • @anonymousLeroy

First of all, the best soccer teams don't fake falls or injuries (manchester united, barcelona, real madrid,... with the exception of ac milan). So maybe you need to watch the popular teams that everyone watches and you would realize people actually watch soccer for the game and not to see players fake falls or fight on the field.

Second, hockey wastes WAY MORE time than ANY soccer game if you take into account all the pauses, commercials, referees checking videos, etc...

  • @anakin11380 : soccer is a sissy sport. You don't need any skills to make a goal. The net is huge so you must be restarted if you can score a goal on that net. This guy didn't fake a fall. He got hurt. If your hurt you have to fall to the ground to get a whistle otherwise you skate to the bench. Anyone can play soccer so why watch them? Not everyone can play hockey.

  • Welcome to the NHL. Stop admiring your pass and keep your head up. Its a game, not for the weak. Way to finish your check.

  • @mayno9 thats not a check it's an open-ice headshot....

  • @mayno9 sounds like you've been on the receiving end of too many of those, internet tough guy....

  • @mayno9 : your retarted it wasn't a check. Do any of you know the rules in hockey? you can only use your shoulders and hips to check. You can't use your hands nor elbow. This guy gave a elbow to the face.

No clean checks draws blood. That is why the refs knew they had to call a penalty of some sort. Because blood was drawn. That is the code in the rule book. You usally get a major for that. Yet it's the refs call.

  • @shyhockeyboy Drawing blood gets a double minor for high sticking only. There's no provision in the rulebook for drawing blood on a hit. You can get a major for intent to injure, but Hudler had his head down after a blind neutral zone pass. As a player you should be aware it's a contact game and you need to watch where you're going to avoid getting your bell rung like that. Hudler was low as he was cornering too. It didn't help his chances.

  • @xtoad666x : no I am not saying on clean hits... I am saying in most illegal hits like boarding etc.

If you look at the guy he dosen't check leagally... you only can check with your shoulders and hips. To me it looks like a elbow to the face. yes, hudler should of seen it coming... I played ice hockey for 5 years. All coaches tell you to keep your head up... for 3 things... to know where everyone is.... to know who to pass too.... and to watch the checks coming to you.

  • dirty

  • The only thing dirty about this hit is that he charged him.

  • @m0s3pH : are you stupid??? he didn't charge him... he gave a elbow to the face and watch the guy again.

  • the puck was away - penalty for this agressive hit

  • WHAT A HIT!! next time he won't admire his pass so much

  • watch it in REAL TIME, NOT SLO MO

and you will realize its not that late

  • clean hit , it was a penalty because everybody knows the wings are protected by the refs, hudler is a pussy

  • @harryo13 LOL! Most retarded comment I've ever seen on YouTube. Ever.

  • we don't need another Jamie Mcgruffy incident, god rest his sould

  • Why does Mike Brown have a full beard.....................?

To hide the stretch marks. Fucking coward pos cocksucker.

  • A dirty hit for sure, but those damn wings sure deserve it.

  • FAG!

  • how the fuck was tht legal he hit went straight for the head

  • thts not legal if somebody is bleeding as much as jiri was

  • CAN U SAY SMOKEDD

  • Pronger licking his lips after seeing the blood...wtf

  • @relam13 LMFAO, Pronger is like a fucking lion stalking his prey. See's blood and starts licking his chops, gotta love my man Pronger.

  • @relam13 i have a theroy pronger is a vampire. he sees blood licks his lips thinks to himself "yum yum woudnt mind some blood " :P

  • Comment removed

  • That was a boarderline call, if the Ducks where at home it wouldn't have been penalty.......and yes I'm a Wings fan

  • Say what you want, but at this level guys should be able to pull up off a check when the puck is that far out of play...perhaps in peewee they can't stop...but come on

  • Dirty Bow

  • WOO! Mike Brown the next tough guy for the Leafs!

  • i dont like brown but it really wasn't dirty. You people saying it was a full 3 seconds after he got rid of the puck are exaggerating a bit. It was borderline late but the hist itself was clean. Had hudler not been cut so bad i don't think brown woulda got a penalty. That's just how the NHL is now.....Hudler gets rid othe puck at the 6 sec mark and is hit at the 7 sec mark

  • clean beauty of a hit on a soft euro sissy

  • @whoabundy It seems like someone thinks they know something about hockey...

  • rule number one: don't admire your pass.

  • i dont care what you morons say this was an ILLEGAL hit to anaheim fans go fuck yourselves! mike brown is WELL known as an aggitator he does dirty shit like this.

  • @icpfuckingsucks That hit was clean one.

Not trying to hurt a player physically.

  • @icpfuckingsucks the puck was gone dumb ass

  • Comment removed

  • @icpfuckingsucks It was a dirty hit. No doubt. It wasn't because the puck was gone. It literally looked like Brown cross-checked Hudler in the head. Brown has to keep his stick down, no matter what. I am surprised Hudler didn't lose any teeth.

  • Yes but most hits happen right after the puck is passed like not even a second after and they are along the boards. This one happened like 3 seconds after and occurred at center ice.

  • charging is what? 3 steps after the puck is passed? he didnt take any strides, but it looked like it would of been 2. clean hit

  • @SubWooferBass that may be true but brown used his elbow

  • it was ILLEGAL i don't care what you idiot duck fans say mike brown is a dirty ass player he tried to cheapshot milan lucic that didn't work he got his ass kicked anaheim is the dirtiest team in the nhl apart from the flyers

  • Chris Pronger smiling, fucking loser.

  • he shouldnt have been admiring his pass

  • This penalty cost the Ducks that series. NHL mafia got the team they wanted to advance. Great job refs, you made history here.

  • That wasnt a "late hit". The guy was gonna hit him, Brown met him half-way and Huddler stayed there. LOL

  • @DonzeJ ur a blind fuck! hudler wasnt even playin the puck, how bout i catch ur punkass comin across the middle? all 220!

  • Clean hit. He had gone for the hit LONG before he gave the puck away.

  • thats duck hockey baby! get your fing teeth broken in if you try to oppose!

  • _

    A

    N

    Hudler watched his pass,

    he knows he deserved that

  • Brown can smd. We dont want of these fag in the nhl

  • it was a clean hit, just didn't have the puck so you can nail him on interferance but not elbow or dirty check

  • Almost a year later, it's still a dirty freakin' hit...

  • he was just finishing his check...that's good hockey...

  • @MurphGiovanni he didnt have the puck man thats interference.

  • your a complete moron. That was an elbow from hell.

  • @chelsiemalka....you're the moron...you can even fucking tell the difference b/w the usage of "your" and "you're"...remedial public school educated motherfucker...i was simply giving my opinion...if you disagree, then cool...no need to make personal insults, you low-brow piece of shit...and i don't know what constitutes an "elbow from hell" in your feeble mind... lol fucking dork...but that was hardly a blatant elbow...any elbow contact was incidental

  • the red wings need an enforcer. when hudler got hit, nobody was there to back him up or have a go at brown. Look at the blood! there would have been a huge brawl if it was any other team.

  • cuze its the playoffs.. in season sure but not in playoffs

  • wow. the playoffs are even more intense than the season

  • u get susspened when u fight smarty tell me when ur in gr1

  • holy fuck bud. ur the one using smarty as an insult. can u get more pathetic? ur the one tellin me i'm in grade 1, ur a fucking joke. go home and cry to ur mummy and play xbox live all day, u cunt hating piece of shit.

  • what are you talking about?....

  • Hudler's head was down, but Brown shouldn't have brought his elbows up. Could have made just as good a hit with the body instead of the elbow.

  • Red wing players are crazy i did he get up from the hit if it was me i would have been lying there for hours and taking of stretchers

  • hit form behind. brown i hope go uot of the game

  • The hit is fine but it was a hit to the head, plus a stick (maybe elbow) to the head

  • It was fine to hit him*

  • @FatStaxofcash

your'e dumb, doesnt make contact with his head, arms elbows and stick down!! perfectly clean hit!!

  • @1manband25 To hit was fine and his head was low, but an elbow or stick hit his head and thats not cool. Dumbass didnt even read my post or what?

  • elbow to the face.i play hockey 50 years now,the elbow pad is like a rock and he elbowed the dude square in the face, that's bullshit hockey.

  • wings fans are brutal, quit crying it was a clean hit, hudler got destroyed

  • bullshit it was a stick shot to the face.mofo should have gotten game misconduct.that's bullshit.buttend stick shot.

  • That's hockey haha!

  • AWESOME HIT!!!!

    PWND

wing fans crying bc it was their guy on the receiving end. If it was Kronwall on any Duck, they would all be boasting what a great hit it was, and calling it clean.....

  • @LOKISlog7 Because Kronwall throws clean hits, this was all elbow with even his stick making contact at the end.

  • @LOKISlog7 I'm a Wings fan. I think that was a good hit. Hudler had his head down. Guys who do that put themselves in bad positions to get injured. And by the way, Kronwall does hit clean.

  • @LOKISlog7

Kronwall has never two handed a guy in the face with the stick like that. It was an incredibly cheap hit and I dare you to come up with anything Kronwall has done close to this.

  • @matt61387 See Kronwall Jumps on Hits - TSN Panel - Wings Ducks Game 2 May 3 2009 Where unbiast hockey people have their say.

btw; Thanks for feeling the need to send a personal inbox msg........

  • @LOKISlog7

Are you stupid? I didn't send you any message and it is completely pointless for you to say I did. You're also an idiot because the video you just referenced is completely idiotic, it's full of clips in which both players leave their feet after contact, which is not a penalty, and even if Kronwall were leaping in the air to throw a shoulder at someone's face it's still not close to two-handing a guy in the face with a stick, try again troll.

  • @matt61387 TROLL?????? You say that as if its a bad thing..........

I stick to my previous comments; and your message came as a personal inbox msg. TAKE IT UP WITH YOUTUBE'

  • Wow, it's not an inbox message, it's a comment notification, I don't think I can ethically debate with a person that cant even figure out how the site he's using works.

  • Comment removed

  • @LOKISlog7 Its listed as a "comment notification" AND a personal inbox msg. But I suspect that you already knew that; but just tried to make yourself look clever with your response; in order to garner some support from those here who also may disagree with my comments or beliefs on this issue. I dont think i can or want to; continue to debate any issue with anyone who would stoop to such a childish or immature tactic; especially to something as unimportant as a YOUTUBE video. Have a nice day.

  • @matt61387 , ummmmmmmm two hand to the face? what hit were you watching? get your eyes checked. Watch "Mike Brown Crushes Jiri Hudler", they have a clear angle that shows shoulder to shoulder, oh and another thing...you said it isn't a penalty to leave your feet on a hit? It's called CHARGING moron...

  • @kurtisvandieen

Yes the bloody cut on his face came from nothing hitting him at all. Oh and it isn't a penalty to leave your feet after contact is made, otherwise every halfway decent check in the history of the game is charging. Learn the rules before you open the hole beneath your nose. Way to make yourself look like a complete fool.

  • @matt61387 Also, I watched the vid you suggested, are you really that stupid or do you just not want to see it? Stick, in two hands, the butt of the stick was smashed in to Hudler's face exactly where he was cut(must've been a coincidence, he cut it on the ice right?). Two handed him, hit him intentionally using both hands to drive the stick in to him, again you are a fool.

  • @matt61387, you need your eyesight checked, the cut came from Hudler's own visor when it made contact with the ice. Yes, it shouldnt be a penalty if you leave your feet after contact but in the video @LOKISlog7 is talking about it's quite clear that Kronwall jumps into those hits, which is an automatic penalty, but apparently you have selective eyesight or are just a really big wings homer... it must be nice to see everything through rose colored glasses.

  • @kurtisvandieen

You are a believer in coincidences apparently, get a life troll.

  • @LOKISlog7 Kronwall would have never taken a cheap shot like that homeboy... Brown saw the puck hit the other Wings players tape and still decided to hit Hudler. Kronwall's hits are on players with possession or those who pass the puck right before the inevitable boom hence clean.

  • brown is gay.

  • he's certainly in the two second rule, but i think he could have stopped. the problem is - do NHL players ever stop, especially in the playoffs

  • fuck that dude is tough

  • he hit him with his shoulder. Clean hit.

  • I was there and right exactly behind him. It was squriting blood. Cheap late head shot. Case Over. WHACK

  • It was late and you can tell he aimed for his head

  • stupid hit

    why would he do that

  • It was a LATE HIT. Player A can only hit a player who doesn't have the puck (call the latter Player B) if Player A was already in motion towards Player B while Player B still had the puck, and if Player A definitively was past the point-of-no-return as far as the hit went. While Brown was in motion, HIS ARMS SHOULDERS WERE NOT; he made a definitive move toward Hudler with his upper body significantly AFTER Hudler got rid of the puck.

    VERY dangerous, and markedly illegal.

  • two second rule

  • The whatever second rule exists because at times players are already past the proverbial point of no return on a hit when the player they're targeting has gotten rid of the puck.

This was not the case here. Brown could easily have broken off. Worse, he actually turned INTO the hit.

  • watch the video, he was gonna hit hudler when hudler had the puck. he just followed through with his hit, any good hockey player knows to follow through, and everyone thinks its a late hit, thats bull! if you watch a video with the time clock displayed you will see the time never changed from the time he passed the puck until the time he got hit, it was less then a second, how does that make it a late hit? use player A and B on that one,

  • there was definitely enough time to stop. hockey is all split second for one thing. his shoulders were down until half a second after the puck was gone and then he went for the check. in hockey you have plenty of time to change. reflexes are millisecond reactions. you are being nonsensical if you really think this was fine. hudler wasn't even facing the guy!

  • funny how someone said "hit him with an elbow wtf" it was more like brown shoulder blackman4550. if you want to see elbow to the head watch Kronwall Leaves His Feet & Elbows Carter 5/1/09 and James Wisniewski Injured + Holmstrom Elbow? - Wings Ducks Game 3 - May 5 09. the wings fans say that brown hit was dirty "wtf" Kronwall and Homlstrom these are dirty hit and elbows.

  • reminds me of the time scott stevens leveled paul kariya

  • me too

  • That hit was less borderline than this one; Stevens did not rotate his upper body towards Kariya as Brown did towards Hudler.

  • very true, i was more talking about it being an intentional hit to a vulnerable player with an attempt to injure. so even though legally you could call the hit clean, it was still a fucking dick move

  • the two announcer suck ass they need to get Don Cherry or the other people that are on Hockey Night in Canada. they just kiss to much ass. the two r like the announcer that call the baseball game for the Angles. if you get Cherry or someone from hockey night in Canada they will not kick ass they call it like it should be.

  • Clean hit, but very late

  • >2 seconds is very late?

  • He rotated his upper body to hit Hudler considerably after Hudler got rid of the puck. It was a headhunter.

  • I can't believe Mike Brown scared him out of the NHL though...Thats how hard that hit was.

  • Just a little earlier and that would have been clean

  • only a red wing would start bleeding and have to be helped off the ice for a clean hit. oh, and that was a pretty good call by the ref, kicking out brown for a clean hit, but the wings should be very accustomed to that

  • it's a penelty checking to the head...

  • LOL where is Jiri Hudler?

  • russia ahaha

  • ouch...lol

  • Hi

I think it was a cheep shot

  • clean hit just a pussy redwing

  • brown did not even see the puck move from his stick that was clean funny but clean

  • This was definitely a clean hit. Hudler starred at the puck after he got rid of it, not a good idea. Had Hudler seen the hit coming he would have braced himself. Had he braced himself this would have just been two players bumping at center ice. CLEAN HIT.

  • that was definetly clean

  • CLEAN

  • you're thte biggest moron in the world that was no where near a clean hit

  • yea it was clean

    hudler is a pussy

he saw brown coming and got dropped

  • it was clean it was never late and he didnt jump of use his elbows

  • Umm, it was actully pretty late AND it looked like he aimed right for his head. It was a cheapshot.

  • @wingnut000003 if you look at a video that has the time displayed, you will see the time didnt change, the time the puck left his stick and he hit him was less then a second, so it was NOT late and it looked like he aimed at his head because brown is bigger and the way hudler was positioned. no cheap shot, learn hockey before you talk

  • It doesn't matter how much time ran off the clock, it was like a second, but the puck was obviously gone and away from the play, which makes it a late hit and it doesn't matter how much bigger brown is than hudler he still hit him right in the head. So don't tell me that I know nothing about hockey.

  • so everyone that gets hit after they play the puck is a late hit? in that case they should take hitting out of hockey cause 90% of hitting is when the guy plays the puck then gets hit, the refs better start calling every single hit that happens in a hockey game.

  • He has to be playing the puck, if the puck is obviously away from the play like it is here, then thats what makes it a late hit, because the puck is away from the play by the time Brown hit Hudler.

  • he played the puck so he put himself in a position to get hit, brown read the play the whole way and did what any grinder/player would do. anytime a player plays the puck, he is vulnerable to getting hit, its a part of the game. i have played hockey for 17 years, i know what im talking about. ive been hit countless times AFTER playing the puck, the play end up on the other side of the ice and i didnt start complaining or anything, got hurt lots of times too, broke my collar bone once also

  • @07rappy700 Collar bone is one of the least painful things to break my friend, dont wave it like a purple heart, this is coming from a guy thats snapped his fibula, broke his ankle in 3 places at once, broken 3 broken three ribs and a fractured sternum at the same time, and a broken hand. Anyways, you must admit, the hit was a big headhunt, look at the Messier hit on Modano, very similar, tell me this isnt dirty after that

  • @07rappy700 I am not trying to argue, but you can see that there was an intent to injure, you can see he blatantly lowered his shoulder (if not elbow) so that it could come into contact with Hudler's head. And bud, I play hockey too, stop whining, it's a contact sport, everyone gets hurt, I've fractured my neck playing, and you're whining about a broken collarbone? Cool.

  • everyone needs to realise that hitting is a part of the game and hudler got hit really f*kin hard. what if he still had the puck at that point and got hit like that? what would you have to say then?

  • I get it that Hudler got rocked, and yeah, I agree that hitting is a part of the game and I like that it is. If Brown wouldn't have hit him in the head and Hudler still had the puck then it would be a clean hit. The call really could go either way, if it was a dirty or clean hit, but in my opinion it was more of a dirty hit but thats just me.

  • @07rappy700 It's not about the hit being late. It's about Brown going directly for Hudler's head. It was absolutely intentional, and you're nothing but a biased fucktard if you disagree.

  • @07rappy700 :

dude your blind and so is the people speaking in the video. Watch the guys elbow. It rises before he hits... it's a elbow to the face. I don't understand why the call was for interfering and your right it shouldn't be interfering he was finishing the check even though it was an illegal move.

    Clean hits don't draw blood.

  • I hate hudler, biggest pussy ever

  • you can go fuck yourself how many games have you seen him play? he plays hard and dishes some hit every once in a while

  • for a "hockey town" they sure do act like they have shit for brains when it comes to hockey.

  • That was Brown's reaction to the announcers calling them "the Mighty Ducks" all series long. Detroit fans; I gotta respect the skillful team that you have, but your announcers are terrible.
