I have read the book. It arrived. I liked a lot the story and what I learnt of Warhammer 40k Lore, but it's too short. Waaay too short.

Could simply allude to Fulgrims battle with an Avatar in the novel Fulgrim. I'm guessing its one of the things shown to Lorgar during his time in the eye of terror. But till this is available, we wont know.

And despite the negative outlook, I am going to be buying this. Yes, its massively overpriced, yes, not getting it posted to a PO address sucks balls, but The First Heretic is my favourite HH novel, and if I can get more of it, I'll pay any price.

Just wait for it to be on shelves, eventually. BL will take note of people's dissapointment. On topic, The Word Bearer's are, along with The Thousand Sons, the most interesting legion covered by the series thus far. However, it is when The Night Lords stuff comes out I will be wetting myself, in excitement and fear. Aaron Dembski Bowden is a very talented writer, and BL are improving in their literary fluff, better charactersiation. Wonder how big the whole series will be? o_O

Anybody who read ADB's HH short story "Savage Weapons" there a sprinkle of foreshadowing of Aurelian action... that is if you heard/read extract stuff released in Hammer and Bolter 10.

Those who will miss purchasing Aurelian there always a chance some slipping onto e-bay maybe, and it scheduled to return back in 2 years time, reprinted for the greater public’s paws much like Promethean Sun.

Ah, Aaron's book The First Heretic was alright but it dragged on for long periods. Hope he learned and made improvements for a greater endeavor in the series.

I love the Horus Heresy. I love Aaron Dembski Bowden's books. I hate limited editions that sell for insane prices. Especially when they sell these books at events too...AFTER THE INITIAL "LIMITED" sell date. This isn't "for the fans." If it were for the fans we'd already have Promethean Rising and this collected together at a normal cover price. Or hell, even a $8 eBook rate.

Please stop doing this Black Library. Please.

@dlood I don't know about you, but I enjoyed The First Heretic, despite some really weird story twists - the most remarkable being a big smelly daemon being invited to the Word Bearers battle barge and some weird dialogue followed. And thereafter and an epic and critical event from that meeting that didn't make much sense.
