So yeah, I live in London, but want to get the Skyrocket. I've checked online and found few people selling it (eBay). Do you think its a good idea to buy it there? will it work in the UK, it say GSM so it should be fine. The phone should work by taking calls and receiving them, but will the internet work here?

@mndi89 well i don't think its a good idea to get it on ebay. But that is just me. If its a good deal. Go for it! And it should definitely work over there. But are you going to be on ATT or a different carriar? cause i think it is considered roaming :/ my dad took a trip to London and he was able to make phone calls, text, surf the internet. But he bought like "international texts" yeah thats werid. BTW this was on the Galaxy S Captivate.

@JoshAngelsberg hmm... well, it is a good deal, it shows AT&T but they're saying its unlocked, it ran out a few times from the same person, asked the people if it was ok, (if i was lucky to find someone outside the US) via looking at the sellers feedbacks, not bad. its just that, i was worried if the internet didnt work.

i think your did used the he originally had and added an international tariff.

so what do you think dude? I might wait after xmas, it was about $579.99

only down side,I've contacted samsung in the UK,Ive spoken to alot of phone shops, they have no clue "what this skyrocket is" lol, they're like "what the hell is that? never heard of it dude, youre at the wrong place" and i'm like wtf lool. idk dude..advice? should i maybe wait?or grab after xmas? :s

@mndi89 hmm im not sure! Would you want to just get the Galaxy S 2 LTE the officall phone by samsung? That might be something to look at. Its basicly the same but is made striaght from Samsung.

About the internet. ATT is always stating that they have the most coverage world wide. So I am pretty sure it is going to work. But you are definitly not going to get Att Lte. lol I am not sure what you are planning but i think it would be in your best interest to talk to some one on the XDA forums....

I've checked the LTE out, better, but no sign of it anywhere, found on on ebay, but its from japan :s and its £599 thats about...$940 :s sucks living in the UK lol we always get everything last.

@theBrUnOcTaVIO well the galaxy phones music players are very nice! I love that you can pull down the notification bar and change songs right there. But if you don't like the music player, its android so you can download other music players from the market like winamp or cloudskipper. I personally love cloudskipper :)

So which phone did you get.. because thats my problem too! The GS2 is faster than the Skyrocket as far as speed (internet, loading programs). Also I herd a lot that Skyrocket battery life also is bad! BUT it has LTE! So Im confused!! Which one?.. Which one did you get??

@RockJay2NayMe I havent got one yet :((( But i think i am going to get the SKyrocket. Because: -Bigger screen -Bigger Battery -LTE -Just a tiny bit slower than Exynos (the international LTE Gs2 uses same CPU) -If you type *#*#info#*#* in the dialer you can set it to 2G, 3G, HSPA+ only and save i think tons of battery -Feels better in the hand -Its ATT flagship -Its already gotten an update, even thought the orignal hasn't and it really needs it! (home lag, secuirty flaw) -its $150 in so cal

@JoshAngelsberg the volume and power are good. nothing special, but at least they are very responsive. OH! and just a heads up, Im pretty sure that because the network is under construction with the whole 4g & LTE tech going on, you MAY experience some network failure once or twice. But as far as im concerned, this phone is damn near perfect, so you have any other unusual issuse, i would say exchange it. But other than that, you will love this device as much as I do :))

@JoshAngelsberg aha, no prob! umm, saddly i dont really know what or how to root. but I love what the what phone has to offer on its own. what i love i love new about it is that im able to transfer my movies onto the phone without having to convert them first. Im more attracted to entertainment, so i have all the music games and movies i want. along with online videos to watch with no lagging. its like having a portable laptop! only thing missing is a burner. lol :)

@JoshAngelsberg Yes, it poped up on my screen so i hit yes and it updated on its own.. but as far as the ics update goes, we might have to do that manually..which either way, i aint tripping bcuz as soon as i read that the update is available, i am going to be on it! lol and yeah, for being one the first LTE devices, i feel they should keep them updated real quick. altho ics wont be released for another few months, i just hope that at the end of this year, Cali will get LTE service :))

But I had a question...on my phone the back cover when it is on the phone in the top left corner makes clicky sounds and like goes in and out. Is this like that on yours? @JoshAngelsberg No the back shouldnt be lose at all. Take the back off and put it on again. When you put it back on, start from the bottom and snap your way up. if it still lose, and it still bugs you (which it would totally bug the H outta me) exchange it for a new one. Happy to hear you got it! it is amazing! Enjoy bro. Lemmie know how the exchange goes, and i'll give you a cool app you can use to make it more awesomer! ;D

@JoshAngelsberg Yeah its strange bcuz thats how i find out if i can update or not..but i actually got a notification saying an update was availible, and i click yes on it, and it updated itself. So idk, maybe give it about a week or two after using it? but theres not a huge different in the update, it still seems the same to me. the 2.3.6 is just a fix. nothings added or changed

@JoshAngelsberg Really?? well one thing that can prolly help, is the Kies software. Install it to your computer; once you connect your phone, the Kies will connect with your phone, and once loaded, it will say if an upgrade is availible.

DO you want a bigger phone or smaller? I would probably go with skyrocket cause LTE is the future and your going to have the phone for 2 years.

@mndi89 haha sorry...do you get ATT there? whooa lol. Well i think i am going to go with the skyrocket cause of the bigger screen and it still runs butter smooth. But i still want to take it through more test. This has been the hardest decision ever hahaha. **See here is the big thing for me. ATT wants people to have the skyrocket more than the orignal. That is a plain fact. The original is on 2.3.4 and needs an update to 2.3.5 (home lag amd security fix)

@mndi89 and the skyrocket has already been updated from 2.3.5 to 2.3.6. It makes me feel that they care more about the skyrocket then other phones. Rolling out updates and such. The home button lag on the SGS2 killed it for me. And from my personal time with it (wish it could have been longer) it seemed to be awesome and it just has that perfect feel in the hands. I played with a reps personal phone. So he had tons of apps and a custom launcher and no lag!

(he has a tendcy to drop pohones) so it could just be that one. Need to find out. But its like a great phone. And when ICS it should optimized that 1.5 dual core crapdragon lol

Guys, ladies, anyone interested: I am a phone freak, and I havnt been so stoked to have such an amazying product. Even my friends dad was amazed by this phone, and he is not easily impressed by material things. And Im pretty sure i will fall even more in love with it once LTE is brought to Cali, and an official upgrade to IceCream Sandwich is installed. I highly recommend this product to anyone. :))

@KatiushaVN4 : Skyrocket is faster as in Internet speed. California does not have LTE yet, but I feel once we do get it, the speeds will be so fast my special eyes wont be able to catch up *lol* and as of Processor, I feel it is just as fast, except it is SO much smoother than the regular GS2. I had the GS2 & exchaged it twice during my 30day trial, was not as satisfied. Had the Skyrocket for a month (on Dec 8) & so far so freakin good!

@JoshAngelsberg : The battery life between the two i feel are about the same. I can honestly say that the Galaxy Capitvate battery life lasted longer, but of course we are dealing with bigger screeens, dual core, & 4g. I use my phone pretty heavely & i manage to make it last all day on one charge.

So, just because you are/were as interested as I (was). I purchased the GSskyrocket, had it for 7days already, & its by far was better than the GS2. Skyrocket is so much smoother, faster. I juss love it more. I am actually glad to have returned the GS2 & get the GSskyrocket. Pretty much the same as GS2, except its faster, smoother, has LTE & 2.3.5Gingerbread and will be upgradeable to 4.0IceCreamSandwich. hopes this helps tho ;)

@KatiushaVN4 im not sure what he ment. But this phone is very fast and smooth. I heard that it has a different version processor of Snapdragon compared to the T Mobiles version so that might be why. But after playing with it, it seems awesome.

I heard that if your on LTE its like being on a very good wifi network. Which is awesome! But i only have 200 mb data plan :((

I went to att the other day and i held the skyrocket and i feel in love....it feels perfect in my hands...i remember holding the INFUSE for the first time and was like this 4.5 in screen is amazing...i wish it was faster tho. And the skyrocket is that phone. a 4.5 in screen with a dual core processor. :D

i couldn't get the thing to lag. i played with it for about 10 mins (a workers personal phone) and it was really fast and smooth. the screen is gorgeous!

Also i dont care about LTE, so if you go to the dialer at type: *#*#4636#*#* it will take you to a secret menu. BE VERY CAREFUL. but you can go to phone info.scroll down to network type and change what service you get. if you change it to GSM it will be 2G haha and stuff like that :)

i'm on the same boat as you are, however, reading somewhere the benchmark results came back higher on the sr after a reset on the phone. also i saw that there was a 100 dollar drop on the new sr and vivid. making the sr the obvious choice.

hey, i tried the 4G LTE at malden MA, not the area of Boston, about some miles away from the centre area. I got 0.7M down and 0.3M up, seems that it's not running on LTE, but on the top of the screen shows the 4G icon........... i have no idea. i may get the original one since the speed is enough for video chatting....... but i do like the 4.5 inch screen and the battery though~

1. its only in like 5 states.

2.most people have a data plan...

@JoshAngelsberg i got the skyrocket and the reason for the processor is that it plays better with 4GLTE. its a software thing, and new results of real time use in processing speed are showing favorable results. i love ihe phone and i get 46lte in atlanta thankfully. i would get it
