Let's pretend that Palin is a historical genius; that Palin answered the Revere question with such accuracy and finesse that she received an honorary doctorate in United States History from Harvard University....

Her answer isn't what irks me; it's the fact that a reporter kindly asked her what she did today, and she claimed he shouted a gotcha question.

@pendragonshall She has been derided by Conservatives as well. To be clear, she's been criticized by the entire spectrum. Is it fair? That depends on the criticism. I am not saying she asked for it. I'm only saying that if she is willing to place her and her family in the public eye, it comes with the territory. In my opinion I find it unwise to claim that a person's political affiliation dictates their actions. We're all individuals and every political party has it's fair share of bad apples.

Nothing much accurate about it in the least. She said Revere was warning the British regulars when in fact he was riding to warn Hancock and Adams that British troops were crossing the Charles to arrest them and seize the munitions at Concord. Revere never made it to Concord, he was arrested by a road patrol. But his friend, Dr. Samuel Prescott, did and warned the colonists there. Palin sounded like an ad for the NRA.

Have you noticed that even Chris Wallace, a very conservative Fox News anchor, is telling her that she was wrong and laughing at her claim that it was a "shout out, gotcha type of question?" Palin's COMPLETE response, she talks about what "NEW" things she saw--something that is probably "new" to the vast majority of people: "We saw where Paul Revere hung out as a teenager, which was something new to learn. He who warned the British that they weren't going to be taking away our arms by ringing those bells & making sure as he's riding his horse through town to send those warning shots & bells that we were going to be secure & free."

That isn't a lie. Her comment was inaccurate. She made a slight mistake. Big deal. Why does it matter if she made a small error? Paul Revere never rang any bells nor did he fire any shots, His mission was a clandestine. Nor did he "warn" the British DURING his "ride", he "warned" them after he was captured. Mrs. Palin never states that. She just went on a small tangent. It happens. I'm not saying she lied. I'm saying she misspoke. Is it really that big of a deal? It happens.
