  • These puppies + Reebok Realflex insoles = MONEY!!

  • great shoe for transtioning to barefoot style running

  • Born To Run.

  • I would never run in these. I would go with something that is proven, like ASICS

    >>> Spartansneaker on line.

  • only work on dirt trail. No on concrete

  • These are great alternatives for people that are in the army where five-fingers aren't allowed, but still want minimal running shoes.

  • @VSUPARHAM there are still alot of leaders who consider "Minimalist" footwear out of regulation due to the lack of protection bulkier sneakers provide. I have been wearing these for about 6 months now and have gotten about a dozen other Soldiers to cross over into minimal footwear. I run about 6 miles a week with these and maybe 4 in the crosstrainer.

  • $99

  • im going to buy a pair soon how much?

  • Presently, I'm training for my 1st Marathon - the San Francisco Marathon. And, I'm training in the New Balance Minimus Trail Shoe. AND, I LOVE IT!

  • I ended up buying the Reebok Realflex.. I didn't like the feel of these as far as Natural Running shoes go.. I've been in the NIke Frees' for 5 years now and decided to give someone else a chance, and absolutely fell in love with the Realflex! I've put about 80 miles on them already and there isn't any noticeable ware on them as far as the feel of the run goes.. Trails, road, whatever! Great shoes! But to market these (NB's) as natural running shoes isn't very accurate..

  • I have these shoes. They're my first "barefoot" running shoes. I've had problems running in the past with regular shoes. They work great on the trail/hard pavement. It takes some getting use to. My calves were exploding after a mile run. It took several times running before my body got used to it however, I still get pretty sore when running. For 100 bucks, it's kinda pricy but it's was worth it for me.

  • oh and, what's the Difference between the minimus TRAIL and the minimus ROAD?

If i'm not mistaken.. i believe the TRAIL is even thinner at the base.. more "barefoot" than the ROAD.

Please share your views. I'd like to understand more on this shoe. I'm a fan. :)

  • you mentioned in your description, "The shoe must be designed to be worn sock-less".. is this your own review/expectation, or is that a proper practise when using this type of shoe?

I'm new to using 'barefoot's.. got first pair yesterday. Thank! n great vid, thumbs up @bopaczewski

  • i just bought this pair of shoes yesterday.. mine's light blue+bright yellow.. and all i can say is: These Shoes Are AMAZING!!

It's the first time i'm using 'barefoot' shoes to run... and never have i felt like i was "gliding" while running... I feel like i've invested my money really well in this one.

    beautiful.. just beautiful :D

  • Man has been running on his bare feet for millennium without a fucking problem.

Those bulking running shoes are crap. I'm going to get a pair of NB 10s for my birthday curtsey of my girlfriend.

  • agree.. lots of them hv awful designs. the bulky track shoes. @flirtwd

  • Birthdays hoes . Com

  • These shoes are the SH*T!! Just bought them a couple of days back. They're my first minimalist shoes and MAN, what a difference. Can't even feel them on my feet! Ran a mile on them today, no problem (gotta ease into them). Combine them with the Injinji Toe Socks and you got yourself Foot Heaven, my friends. By far my favorite shoes. I'm planning on wearing these bad boys EVERYWHERE.Caution: I believe they run a bit small so TRY THEM ON BEFORE YOU BUY THEM. Happy running!

  • @ZenMasterT07 Lol, I didn't see 'the' before shit and I thought you didn't like them. :P

  • Is this good for track/cross country, turf trails?

  • Those look like great advanced running shoe. Not a good for a entry or a moderate runner. I would recommend serious muscle building.

  • @spectrumconsciousnes Up yours, buddy.

  • I enjoy these shoes a lot actually! I use them primarily on the road and they feel great to me. You have to run with a mid foot strike, or on the balls of your feet to feel comfortable running in these shoes. They are very light, and look great! I love them, but they might not be for everyone.

  • Great shoe. First 8km were put on today. Awesome transitions between trail and harder packed surfaces. They really respond when ran down a stretch of cushy dirt/mud. Watch your Achilles when first using them, they'll get a little chewed up. Maybe a little bit of sport tape can help.

  • I bought these shoes and returned them the next day. My toes were very crowded in these and I even bought a half size bigger than I typically wear. I exchanged them for the Merrell Trail Glove. Very happy I did so. I do run in them and it's my first experience with quasi-barefoot running. The Merrells definitely work your muscles differently: foot and leg. With my Merrells I've said goodbye to shin splints.

  • do they fit wide feet

  • I love these shoes. I run both road and trails and I couldn't decide which to buy. SO I bought both :) Now I can switch out and they will last twice as long. Did a 10 miler on trails the other day in them and I felt great afterward.

  • this shoe has a 4mm drop, not the greatest shoe and not natural at all sorry, i rather put on my vibrams or run barefoot

  • These are not real barefoot shoes. I bought a pair, tried them on, and sold them on eBay immediately. They have way too much padding (the 4mm drop is significant) and they fit tight around the midfoot. I run completely barefoot. And if I'm on trails I wear my homemade huaraches. The New Balance Minimus are genuinely underwhelming. Having said that, I do look forward to the rumored 0mm drop in the next generation Minimus. If that eventuates, I'll buy another pair.

  • @SuperApparition Good reason to always try on a shoe BEFORE you buy it.

  • @SuperApparition Please enlighten as to what a 'barefoot shoe' might be. Chances are if you bothered to make huaraches and you normally run completely barefoot then yes... these shoes will have too much cushion.

  • @SuperApparition it's funny because you bought a shoe and sold it because IT FELT LIKE A SHOE. people are funny, you made my day man, keep on doing whatever the hell it is that you do, you little barefoot runner you.

  • @SuperApparition why not just return them?

  • @SuperApparition

Your opinion is much appreciated and respected but everyone is different, Thank you.

  • I wanna see them on your feet to get a better idea how they look. Thanks.

  • @bopaczewski Thanks for your input. I really appreciate it. I've only put about thirty miles on my latest MT101s. I was out with a stress fracture for two months and just started running again. But I might have to buy the Minimus trail as soon as they're available and just use the MT101s for trails. Thanks again!

  • So would you say these are fine for road running? I'm on my last NB101. I've used them for trail and a lot of road work but my next shoe is going to be the Minimus. I like the design of the Minimus trail shoe as opposed to the road shoe so I'm wondering if what you described with your experience was a good thing (as far as road work). No rockstop makes me a little nervous. My trail runs are pretty rocky.

  • @mt2ube I actually love them on the road. I have put probably 150 miles of road-running on them in the last month or so. I ran 3 road marathons last year in the M101, and loved that too. I will probably wear the MInimus for a few road marathons this year as well. I don't think I like the Minimus Road shoe as much as I thought I would. The Minimus trail feel fast on the road, since they are so light, and I will definitely be wearing them for a few fast 5k's this spring as well.

  • @mt2ube As far as how they do on rocky trail, i'm not so sure. I think the 101 may trump here, for the reason of the rockstop. I will find out soon enough. All in all, you simply can't go wrong with the Minimus Trail, it is an amazing shoe. It's about time!

  • I know this shoe is marketed and sold as a "trail shoe", but can you say how it performs on the road? I've heard it kinda has that "cleets" feeling because of the little pods.

  • @jobersjobe I have run on the road with them for 40 miles now, some in snow, but the better half was on solid pavement and I did not feel this at all. It is so minimal on the bottom there really isn't enough material sticking out to impose this feel. The Vibram soles are a trademark rubber compound which doesn't feel stiff at all. When I got on the road it really surprised me. The little cleats are not very thick, maybe as thick as a quarter (1.5-2mm.) Looking forward to Minimus ROAD.
