He's not switching between amps. Any guitar player knows that. That's what foot switches are for. He simply combines the amps for the tone he gets. It looks like two of the same amps to me, probably Fenders of some kind.

he's got two amps cuz he switches his sounds from clean (one amp) to overdrive, distorted balsy sound (2nd amp)...that's all great, and the one on the right looks like a fender twin, but what the hell is he playing thru on the left??? can't tell but it doesn't look like a fender..video's a bit fuzzy, and thank god for cell phone cameras...man, plus such killer fuckin tone!

The BEST version is on the album "It's chubby time" just a great collection of studio and live stuff--not Beauty and the beast like some say...the one version on chubby time has a killer B3Hammond organ part that just makes it, plus he really sings w/ some soul and passion!!! This particular version (on utube) has extended solos, which I love since I play the same kind of blues popa does, but his vocals here suck--he's just yellling!!! But it's so fun to see, just like being there...

The version on the Booty and the Beast CD is rather different. That's a good album, but Popa Chubby's playing is far more restrained with no extended soloing. It was published on one of Sony's record labels and appeared to be a latter day Clapton-esque attempt to introduce the artist to a more mainstream audience.

Was there @ the Chester, so many nites. Popa used to start his show 'round midnight, often till 4.00 AM. Only pure blues warriors stood up still so late at night to aplause, or so early in the morning, if you prefer !! We used to get back home around 5.00, sleep a few hours, go to work, and get back to the Chesterfield at the end of the day, exhausted, deaf, but happy. Living, in fact. Living the blues.
