Go look at the UN stats and it shows India per capita is much higher, Human development index is much higher, purchasing power is much higher. South India has 100% literacy and very good human development inde. North India has more Muslims and so there is more problems as Muslims are not progressing. Muslim shave many wives & many kids and go to Madarassa for education. It will take more time to make them change.
