  • the correct V8 to put in that is a powerstroke i got a ford tractor with a powerstroke running on biodeisel b20

  • Looks great and sounds awesome. But could it actually utilise the power, say on a plough or is just a engineering show piece. Either way I like it.

  • Love the way that tractor sounds....It sounds like a big block on steroids.

  • I have seen that tractor in a Ford & Fordson Magazine issue No 35

  • am sure i have seen that tractor around at steam rallies

  • Looks great mate I have one also @ 235 hp she goes like a train!!!

    is your still 24volt start?

I would like to get your commets on mine

Are you going to do another?

    regards

    Megashawy

  • @MegaShawy i will say mate this is not my tractor. i saw it at a show a couple of years back. as far as i know it still has the 24 volt system on it. its a perkins 540 i gained permission from the owner to put this video on here, but i will definitely leave my thoughts on you videos cheers

    wayne

  • @MegaShawy

V 8 Diesel, is OK. Were is the Turbo ?

    Gruß Eifel Jety. GRINS.

  • @bangersfuzzy there is no turbo man were talking old school diesel power dude

  • The owner of this tractor is one of my mates Dad, the tractor is named the Beast, it has a Fire Truck engine and goes about 60mph EASY. I've been on the back of this while bombing around a field, it's safe to say it a scary monster.

  • @gemo57 i daresay its a little hair raising! one hell of a tractor though. thanks for taking the time to look at my vids

  • very nice tractor

  • yoyojoe0072 knob

  • Fordson power!

  • hell yeah! fordon and perkins are like bread and butter

  • 180 hp thats nothing my moms toyota 2001 land cruiser has 236 hp

my dads subaru wrx sti 2004 has 450 hp

    after market.

because stock it only has 300!

  • @yoyojoe0072 thats as may be were talking 1950s technology here its still a lot of power and tourque

  • @yoyojoe0072 this could out-pull either of your cars any day

  • @yoyojoe0072 ah, horsepower simplefied is torqueXspeed. that perkins is running about 2400-2600 rpm, making that power. your toy motors need to be buzzing about 6000 rpm to make their rated power. Let's see em do that hooked to a plow all day long.

  • @yoyojoe0072 We're also talking diesels here. Diesels have relatively low HP compared to their gasoline counterparts, but they have shit-tons of torque. Horsepower sells vehicles, but torque wins races.

  • @thegreatkingdaniel i couldnt agree with you more!

  • @thegreatkingdaniel

I love torque...Not a lot of people know the difference between torque and HP...

  • i know the person who owns that wonderful machine. His name is Malcome and he lives in a village called Slawston in leicestershire.he also has a couple of the 4 cylinder fordson diesel majors but this v8 is awesome.

  • good video,nice tractor

  • Sounds to me like a cylinder isn't firing

  • how hard was this engine to adapt to your tractor? I am thinking of swapping out the engine of a 1955 International school bus

for a diesel, and i am undecided as to wheter the swap will be a Perkins, like the one in your tractor, or a 6v71, or a 6v92

    Detroit Diesel.

  • fiest off i would like to day that i do not own this tractor. i only saw it at a show last year. but it is not difficult to adapt an engine to fit a different gearbox. all you need to do is make an adapter plate to fit you engine behind the flywheel that bolts to the crank case. then on the outer or inner( depending on wether the gearbox bell housing is bigger or smaller)you need to drill the holes to put the two tohether.

  • Thanks, i'll remember that.

  • fuck you then

  • this is a perkins 540 V8

it is 8.8litres and produces 180HP

    NOT 180 BHP

BHP and HP are different measurements of power.

  • No they're not.

  • please explain?

  • BHP is simply an extension of HP. They call it that because a dyno acts like a brake when measuring horsepower.

  • Love that sound

  • nice (Y)

  • ennit cool! thought id shoot a short 1 of it cuz it was a little out of the ordinary :D

  • What speed does it do with that engine?

  • i honestly couldnt say... id think it wouldnt be any different because of the gearing but ill never know :p

  • thats the one!! :D

  • father ted big frobber
