So what exaclty is so special about a professional cameral like this? Tell me ALL the differences in why you or anyone should buy a professional camera for certain things and what extra features and specifications it has. Like why you need a P2 card for HD when you could just get a Fh1a Sanyo which records 1080p 60fps with a class6 sd card priced way lower and other stuff too. Thank you
I think we're getting ripped off with these Prosumer HD cams. We feed into the hype and think we have GREAT equipment because the web and some magazines tell us so. The direction in this video is very nice (I'm taking nothing away from the director). But HVX footage, still looks like DVX footage with an anamorphic lens and some polish (follow me here). They promised us some revolutionary camera.
HI there! can anyone tell me... what is the size of the brevis threat? 72mm or smaller.? I have got hv40 and I wonder if I can use this adapter? If its 72 mm threat so I can use step rings cant I? Thanks in advance:)
nice work. DOF is also greatly affected by aperture. More open = less depth. By using a fast lens it's possible to achieve shallow depth of field even with short focal length.
DOF is directly related to the length of the lens, not whether it is a zoom or a prime. The big debate between using zooms and primes used to lay in the sharpness with Primes winning hands down. With modern lenses, you'd be hard pressed to notice a difference, with most being overly sharp and needing some sort of a light diffusion.
As far as the primes go, they are the Zeiss Nikon mount ZF series. They are pretty lenses but a bit tough to pull focus on since they are still photo lenses!
Beautiful camera work! I'm trying to figure out when to use primes and zooms for a music video experiment I'm doing in Jan. Which shots did you use the zoom for, because most of the shots have that great shallow DOF I would normally associate with primes. I'd love to know which primes you used to, if you're willing to share that info. Thanks in advance!

@MrGiladG 720P. Most of it was shot between 48 & 60fps.

@jderango primes can often open wider, so I wouldnt say that primes aren't related to DOF at all.

I used a Nikon zoom and a set of Zeiss Primes. Sorry for the delay in answering you!
