Schumann is so great. I have read 3 bios and only know the piano music .So ready for the overtutes and ensemble music1 The vocal songs esp. Liederkreiss are revelatory!

Good interpretation.

I liked it a lot! But one thing to improve on is raising your viola higher.

I also play viola, and I know how heavy it can get when you continually try to raise it while you play, but it also helps with performance as well as the appeal. It helps keep the bow straight, and the sound rich. Just a thought.

I absolutely love this Schumann composition, I have it on a CD called "The Romantic Viola". My favourite of the four Maerchenbilder would have to be the third - do you happen to have a recording of that as well? I'd love to hear you play it, your playing reminds me why the viola is my favourite instrument!

I AWARD THIS 1 3/4 CLARAS...I found the big picture you set a lovely place of serenity.

AND, I particularly like the way you play with each other as you seem to melt into the music as 1.What I didn't like was that there wasn't a variety in feeling,which was result-ing from a lack of individuated episodic approach in articulation,tone,timing & affect.By the way your retards & tenuti are luscious...but you've got to have accelerandi & brusque sforzandi to balance that out,even in this.
