@Floodlezoot You have to realize that Europe isn't just having a small decrease in population, our birthrates are so low that if allowed to continue we might actually go extinct. And a small amount of people doesn't mean a better quality of life, just becuse Haiti has around 10 million people doesn't mean that they have a better life then people from european countries. I'm against further immigration but if we wan't to hold our economy then we need to have a stable population not a smaller one.

They will enjoy their 5 minutes of fame, then a new power will rise. My only predictions are that Europeans, though they will lose a vast amount of their power, will never fall to the levels of poverty associated with the third world, and that long-suffering Africa will be the last to escape the cycle of poverty.

I don't know if this is just me, but to be honest this doesn't sound like such a bad thing. Europe is getting too crowded in my opinion, and addressing the issue of overpopulation should see an improvement in environmental welfare and a decrease in poverty.
