Skeletal findings relaing to Hobbits indicate that Hobbits descended from Australopithecus, like the Homo-Sapiens, and migrated out of southern Africa about 70,000 years ago. The Hobbits ranged widely, as their remains hav been found in Flores and modern day Romania, for example. Hobbits declined in range and numbers. Hobbit genes may well be in the Homo-Sapien genome, in the form of dwarf-ism and midget-ism - even though the Hobbits are probably now extinct as a separate species.
@allisonpita Everything Ive seen from u so far was uploaded on the 16th May 2010. Must have well and truly thrashed that upstream connection that day :)
Sorely underestimated the Australopiths. The similarities with Lucy's skeleton are astonishing. I wouldn't call this species "Homo" just yet. In this very documentary they refer to savannastan, steppe-hill-grassland which to stretched from Africa to China. Anthropologists have arbitrarily put imaginary boundary between Africa and Asia when in reality no geographical bound existed. Australopiths were not as well suited to walking but that does not mean it could not have gotten as far as Erectus.
@deadman1144 I was kinda thinking they're half way between a Dwarf and an Orc. Dwarf can refer to just a stunted human though and they Neanderthals ate a lot of meat so I went with Orc. It's also another Tolkien created race that way. *shrugs*
@Arikiel They have far more in common with dwarves if you ask me. Especially D&D dwarves. I have always thought that D&D and similar games would be more interesting if you kept all the creatures true to the fossil record.
You wouldn't have a chance against them, they would be like ewoks with little spears and nets to catch you in. Plus they most likely lived in cubby-houses in the trees.
240p... Really!

@Yodawodadoda ...that's a good point,...even profound! Also on aeroplanes it would be difficult for them to use the overhead luggage compartments.

@Yodawodadoda Yeah, but they'd be at just the right height to bite your balls.

@Yodawodadoda yeah but they would come back and rip off your privates lol that would be scary XD
I find this an amazing discovery. I doubt they are still alive, but I hope so. Personally I would like to believe they are. :)
