I enjoyed a lot your irony about the current status of Aegean Macedonian! And the music is great, I have it in tape, too. There are recordings of Tale playing clarinet with an orchestra in the "chalgija" style as well, for the same part of Macedonia.

tale ognenovski is the best for traditional Macedonian clarinet. Guys like Ferus mustafov are amazing, but they specialize in Gypsy and European Turkish styles.
Can't get enough of his music. Love Macedonia and the music!

:o) The recording is from the beginning of the 70´s. It says Jugoton 25 years. And I think Elektroton became Jugoton in 1947-48....
