  • Nasal, like all neck-through basses. Sell it & buy a bolt-on, like a Stingray =)

  • sweet playing man, is there decent definition on the F# string?

  • im saving up for this bass now

  • I have physical proof of both of you Playing with your moms Fuckstick while rubbing your Fuckbox.

  • fai ridere coglione

  • una lata de almejas...

  • -.- no romanianskill.

the more a bass player has, the more hes willing to make his own styl.

however I dont understand people with 7 strings that dont make their own music

  • romainianskill.you are a dickhead!!!

  • haha you just showed everyone how ignorant you are with that statement...wow

  • bass players are retards

  • I think you are the retard, romanianskill

  • well, i think you are the retard kk2134

  • haha ha hahaha

now i know why you don't have friends...oh and i looked at your profile where i saw this one comment i rather liked it said that i'm with his ex now i can't believe she went out with this guy he doesnt even deserve the gays :)

haha shows that your worthless with your words my friend

  • suck my fat bit

  • the same thing it says about a person who disgraces music and is so sorry he thinks he has to insult others to make up for his pathetic life. thats ok...so you lost your girlfriend to a gay guy then right? right that makes it better

  • i lost my girlfriend to a homeless gay guy actually. not anything to be ashamed of though, let's just say that i'd like things to stay the way they are... for the moment.

  • you're a sad sad man/child roman

  • yea, great

  • is that a groove tool or a custom?

  • his playing or the bass

  • LOL what doesn't suck on this video?

  • the bass is awesome but his playing isn't you good. but i think thats because he is just getting used to it.

  • nice.

  • HE HAS MORE CHINS THAN STRINGS!!

  • But everybody knows that's where the root of all groovyness comes from, the neck.

  • Ooooweee! Nice Bass!!!

  • You look like you partied too much with John E. Zonza Jr. back in the 80's

  • cool, nice palying, great bass, I've been wondering is it worth it to buy a 7_String bass, I've had ppl tell me that its lame and overkill ect. what do you think?

  • You won't be breaking any laws by having one, although just as a suggestion I'd say to explore techniques and songs that utilize all seven strings very often, so you can have an excuse to have a seven string bass.

  • haha, ok, I bought an Ibanez SR506 6-String, its the coolest bass I've played yet, maybe I'll hit up a 7-String next time

  • Well, if you've already played six strings and have gotten used them, a seven string should be nothing serious.

  • yeah, ik, next time :)

  • is that the gt-7 or buddah dickens model

  • BD GT 7, the sound quality on the clips is not good, but the range of the bass is very good. I think that the "snakeskin" strings add alot, I have just fitted a set to a four string ibanez musician and the bas has come alive, especially for the slap and pop style. Very 80's. V Cool!

  • is that one of the older groove tools basses or one of the new century ones?

  • bought from bass central in florida in 2007

  • how did you add this vid in 2006 then?

  • lol pwnt

  • real nice

  • That was funky sweet. I have been thinking about bying this bass, but I whanted a 6 string fretless first. so I bought one today;)

this will be the next one:)

  • That's only pentatonics, but it sounds groovy, dude, don't worry!

  • Way cool bass man, I really envy you.

I was told that it plays like a Ken Smith, by the look of your hands seems pretty darn smooth.

  • For the money I don't this you good get better

    thanks

    d

  • conklin i presume?

  • BDGT7

    :-)

  • Srry, I forgot it was in the title, lol! Can u get those in the UK?

  • Not unless you get it second hand off someone, conklin GT7's or BDGT7's are almost unheard of in the UK unless you imported from the US.

    Nice playing Jago

  • Any import sites for one then?

  • There's a shop on US eBay called beatstreet music who are selling Conklin BDGT7's for £768 approximately with £50 postage to the uk however you'd have to factor in 3.5% import tax and 17.5% VAT which brings it to approximately £900. I got my BDGT-7 from a friend of mine for about £800(Electronics changed). If you play fretless give me a pm and i'll direct you to a guy thats selling a GT-7 fretless for around £600.

  • How about a GT-7 fretted?

  • If your lucky and look around you could get one for about £500/600 but I've only seen about 2 in the UK on eBay or anything like that in the past year.

If you have a friend/relative in the US you could get one from a US store, mail it to them then have them mail to you as a gift so you miss all the import duty and tax.

Other than that, you gotta be patient.

  • and another thing...i hear some damian erskine in your playing. Am i mistaken?

  • damian erskine!!! Where can I hear this bass player? I genuinely have no knowledge of this musician?

    D

  • nice sound, man. I definitely need to try out some different strings.

  • What strings are you using? I can't get my Conklin GTBD-7 to sound ANYTHING like that. Then again, I haven't had the funds to buy a set of SITs to go on it.

Great tone btw. Is that DI to the computer, or are you using some sort of preamp?

  • Playing via Mark Bass combo into the mic on the camera.

    Strings are conklin snakeskins

  • How would you compare the snakeskins to rotosounds? Just a curiosity question...

  • for the seven string bass I would say that the even string tension and brightness of the snakeskins is much better than my experience of rotosounds. Having said that I have only used rotos on my four and five string basses in the past and I don't normally chose that brand.

  • Good Luck my friend, I owned a Conklin 7 for 5 years then sold it 2 months ago. Mucho frustration, too many strings to navigate, back to my 4 string Fender Jazz bass.

  • Nice playing man I need to learn to play my 4-string before I move up to one of those monsters.

  • Nice playing. Is that the Bill Dickens signature or just a standard GT?

  • This is the signature bass BD GT7

  • Certainly has some bite to it. I'm thinking of putting bartolinis into the next bass I'm building.

  • nice playing, nice playing; but what bothers me is that bass players play their bass guitars like cellos in soslo's, but if you watch legends like cliff burton play the bass, he plays it like a regular guitar; so keep up the good work but try to practice on some other stuff

  • very nice man!

I would like to find a bassit who uses more than 4 strings and plays metal

nice music, sounded like Seinfeld :P

  • very good :)

  • I think that you should add gain or some volume to the amp because i could only hear the stressed notes you played, overall it sounded really good, a little too subtle though.

  • Im assuming he had the bass and gain turned down, to avoid any overloading of the mic on the camera.

But overall Nice solo, Ive tested one of those beasts myself and they sound amazing.

  • Nice to see someone who knows how to do funk without slapping! I'm gonna have to start playing bass again, would love to get that good!

  • Can do it slap also, though it sounds a bit old hat. Having said that most audiences apart from the stuffy jazz brigade seem to enjoy a bit of the old thumb antics! All the best JJ

  • yikes man that octave range must make up for so many ideas. I play a 7 string guitar and i have found so many strange ways to tune. Enjoy your bass man and keep the funk alive!

  • Man id love to play some funk with ya!! What do you tune that beast to?

  • LordiscarioT, From Low B in 4ths to F, BEADGCF.

    Thanks for the support.

  • nice, somebody that can just groove!!! I want a 7, but i'm not sure how practical it would be for my use.... and my wallet

  • I have 4, 5 abd 7 all are very different. What I like about the 7 is the ability to stay in the same position and travel from contra to piccolo. Melvin Lee Davis who is playing with Lee Ritenour he uses a fender jazz 4 and a ken smith 7. Both are very different and create very different feel. Suggest borrow if you can then buy, but don't expect miracles overnight as the 7 takes some getting used to. I love it. Peace Jago
