  • Sowell is easily 100 times your intellectual superior, so joke's on you dumbass.

  • I don't think the poster of this video has any idea who Dr. Sowell is.

  • The idiot who posted this video demonstrates the very problem Sowell is being criticized for describing.

  • what a terrible preface to this video. i mean for fucks sake Thomas Sowell is one of the deepest thinkers in the political spectrum, there is far more reasoning behind what he's saying than what's in this short video.

  • Generalissimo Thomas Sowell??? Really??? Have you ever read anything this man has written?

His autobiography is one of the most inspiring stories I have ever read. He is one of the greatest intellectuals in American History, and he speaks nothing but common sense. I will never understand the hate for this man, he is one the smartest people I have ever had the privilege of reading or listening to.

  • How can all you Cons say he is so brilliant when he gets so many easy to fact check quotes wrong.

    Sowell is a pseudo-intellectual.

  • @MsZeitgeist85 Name some of them. Name some facts he gets wrong.

  • @AlexJKirby Google Thomans Sowell Politifact. Also read what he says about health care in Canada and the UK.

  • Neo and paleocon are misleading attempts to separate the two Januses of conservatism. One looks forwards to a future run by amoral heroic businessmen (Ayn Rand) and the other looks to a past that never existed (the supposed values of the Founding Fathers). Both are defined by the ideology of hierarchy, religious mysticism and inequality. Those are the hallmarks of conservative ideology where ever you find it in the world (Saudi Arabia, Iran or Arkansas).

  • I love Dr Sowell but I would say Mitt Romney mould make a much better candidate than president. he's an opportunist, another neocon that says all the right things but understands none of them, practicing more precisely the ideals of progressives than lovers of liberty. both conservatism and progressivism are illogical doctrines; one praises the virtue of economic freedom, the other social freedom. but in reality neither group respects the rights of individuals to life and liberty.

  • You're right about Alan Colmes at least...

  • sknabt you really need to do some research before you post another video like this because you made yourself look like an idiot here.

  • All cheer the Charles Krauthammer/Ann Coulter Republican ticket for 2016!!! These two would be the perfect pair for the job. Get your nominations in now!!!

  • Sowell is not a neocon however he is an extremely well respected intellectual, historian, economist and deep thinker. This is coming from a leftie as well

  • I guess you missed the part where he said he didn't think it would happen in his lifetime.

  • I was looking forward to ingesting your vid here, but as soon as I saw you referring toThomas Sowell as as "pseudo-intellectual" in your description, you lost all credibility. That's all.

    FF -Ty

  • Neocons? You mean the New Conservatives? The only coup thats going to happen already did in 2008. But thats going to change come November.

"Watch pseudo-intellectual Thomas Sowell"? Thomas Sowell is a an American Patriot. What a misleading video. Sknabt, your a fool.

  • whoever calls Sowell a pseudo-intellectual is pseudo-coherent

  • Professor Sowell's farts have more intellectual ability than the creator of this video.

Do you realize that the person you called a pseudo-intellectual is a Professor of Economics for over forty years who has authored well over 30 books; is a senior fellow at Stanford University's Hoover Institution; and holds a Ph.D. in Economics from University of Chicago, an M.A. in Economics from Columbia, and a B.A. in Economics from Harvard University?

    You are a complete RETARD!

  • Thomas Sowell is utterly brilliant.

Funny to see a schmuck like Alan Colmes try to put him on the spot.

...Oh yeah, and it's funny to see some C-student slack ass you-tuber call him a "pseudo-intellectual".

    LOL

  • As we move away from individual rights towards collectivism, freedom loving people will revolt. Sorry. The more you and your lot force us into your paternalistic, fake altruistic society, the stronger we will become.

And Thomas Sowell a pseudo-intellectual? Give me a break. When will socialist "intellectuals" like yourself finally understand that collectivism doesn't work? Do you honestly believe your ideas haven't been tested already?

  • @sknabt

Pseudo intellectual? Hmm, a doctor of economics that served as an economics professor at UCLA, Cornel, and Brandeis (three iv leagues colleges) an understudy of Milton Freidman (one of the most significant economists of the 20th century) and author of over 30 books.

You don't even have the brainpower to understand Sowell's tone. I suppose you are the product of an American populace educated by comedians (Jon Stewart, Bill Maher, Rosie O'donnel.

  • Combs is such a waste of oxygen. Sowell... as good as Uncle Milty sknabt you are a moron. go live in cuba if you want liberal... leave america alone.

  • "Pseudo-intellectual" Thomas Sowell ? He has published a book a year to rave reviews for decades. "sknabt," on the other hand, hides in his mom's basement

terrified at having discovered Americans can be black and conservative.

Grow up; grow a brain while you're at it.

  • When asked about his remarks, Sowell 's first observation is about Iran acquiring nukes. Is a nuclear Iran part of the left's agenda? I wasn't aware of that, but will take sknabt's word for it. As to what leads to such degeneracy Sowell mentions the political system becoming evermore irresponsible, increasing degeneracy of education and race hustlers. If these are part of the left's agenda, I must plead ignorance. I for one, am thankful that sknabt is honest enough to set the record straight.

  • The Rosie O'Donell comparison is faulty in a number of ways. 1.) Sowell did not say

The country is too far to the left. We need a coup to fix this.Rosie has no degree has never been involved with any research or government policy. The best you could say is she has a degree in gumflapping. If Alan Colmes finds Sowell's statement to be absurd, why should he be outraged? Now you see who is "spoiling for a coup" Liberal purity is measured in terms of "outrage" anything less is considered feckless.

  • Either with liberals or neo-cons you will tend to an off-shore corporates-owned bolshevik state...

The difference is that the "liberals" use vaseline and the neo-cons use force..

  • Hats off for Thomas Sowell! He is truly brilliant!

  • Pseudo-intellectual? Really? Isn't amazing the first ones to poke fun at people's intellects are always so stupid. Agree with him or not, Sowell is one of the sharpest minds in the world.

  • The guy who posted this video is an idiot. Thomas Sowell is a pseudo intellectual?? I guess anyone with common sense is a pseudo intellectual.

  • Its great how everyone watching this video intended to smear Sowell is bolstering him.

  • love the smarmy voice over for this video. pretty unnecessary.

  • A "neocon" is a word used by leftwingers to describe anyone who disagrees with them. It was made popular by the great political intellectual Mick Jagger

  • Sowell back hands all liberal idiocy with a brilliant calm once again.

  • Thomas Sowell is brilliant and the guy who posted this video is dwarfed by him in every sense. Fuck the left!

  • Calling Thomas Sowell a "pseudo-intellectual" is like calling Edison a "pseudo-inventor"

The man is practically a genius

Just finished reading his book "A citizen's guide to the economy", he kills political and economic myths where they stand

  • I have some disagreements with him economically, but I think he's very strong as a critical thinker. He clearly recognizes the difference between economic power (voluntary relationships of trade) and political power (coercive). The Founding Fathers would most likely agree with his argument (which is why they added the right to bear arms). Though I think Thomas Jefferson would prefer secession (and I would to)....with lots of guns to maintain it.

  • @Sam26100 dude i agreewith you 100%. sowell is a genius

  • What is a neocon? Would someone like to explain that?

  • some1 who likes to export democrazy thru the barrel of a gun. A big government conservative

  • Attacking the neocons is nothing but thinly disguised antisemitism. America-hating socialists hate Black Libertarian Conservatives like the great Thomas Sowell. sknabt sucks Obama's socialist milk.

  • the statement in the beginning of the video, about what hannity would say to odonnel, and what he says to sowell, is based on the notion that hannity pretends to be non partisan. and that he pretends not to take sides.

that notion is not true. he is a republican, he pretends to be nothing but a republican, and he agrees with other republicans.

    this video is misleading.

  • That you would even consider him a pseudo-intellectual is very telling of your ability to 'read' intellect. Which in turn doesn't say very much about your own.

  • I dont get how Sowell could even be serious about Giuliani...I admire the guy for his economic insights, but as far as selecting the right candidate he is far off. Besides, his stance on the "iranian situation" really took me by surprise. Seems to me he is on AIPAC's payroll...

  • of course chokin2 hates Rudy Giuliani's pro-Israel stance. that is because chokin2 is a shitler-loving, gay antisemite who wants America destroyed and all Jews murdered

  • who said something about hatred? mmm I smell the typical zionist smear..."gay antisemite"??? LMAO! So, being gay is an insult? you seem like the typical jewish zealot who'll put all gay population in front of a firing squad. Good luck with all your hatred against non-jews and homosexuals...

  • chokin2 reveals his hatred. mmm I semll the typical, shitler-loving, gay antisemite in chokin2. nothing funny about that. chokin2 is quite proud of his gay homosexuality. chokin2 is a typical shitler-loving, gay antisemitic zealot who would put all Jews in front of a firing squad. bad luck to chokin2 with all his hatred against us vastly superior Jews

  • The narrator needs to study up a bit huh?? Not a clue.

  • The guy who made this video thinks he is smart. But all he did is show his failure to grasp the situation that America is in.

  • exactly! have you noticed how the socialists are forever calling us stupid racists, when it is the socialists who are the stupid racists?

  • A kick ass ticket would be Sowell/ Gingrich.. and every idiot commie in America would shit their pants.

  • No Gingrich would be labeled a neo-con (although he isn't). I would say Sowell and Ron Paul!

  • Bingo. That would be a formidable candidacy that could actually both understand and clearly explain all aspects of public policy. And could reel-off pithy one-liners to assure being covered/quoted by the media.

However, both should show more concern for restoring our Manufacturing base in America, because otherwise we've a pseudo-economy of 'retail sales'(of foreign products) , money-lending, and semi-parasitism. Restore the (traditional GOP) National Tariff/ Import Tax against predatory trade.

  • Everyone should read Sowell's 'The Economics and Politics of Race', an international comparative study.

  • If everybody would read anything and everything by Thomas Sowell, the United States would become even greater than it already is. Nobody would ever be fooled by the socialists again.

  • America is leaning toward the right? The last time America leaned toward the right was about 200 years ago.

  • i like to bash a good neocon as well as the next guy, but Sowell is NOT some Bush-Rove type interventionist fake intellectual NEOcon. He is a true conservative/libertarian and a deep thinker. I suggest you give some of his writings a once over.

  • Totally agreed. However, I still dont get his stance on the "Iranian situation"...seems more like neoconish

  • chokin2's stance seems more like nazi-ish

  • Ugh. Childish.

  • Pseudo-intellectual? Have you even read anything he's written? Keep riding the bandwagon and bashing Fox News for being the least liberal news network on TV.

  • you are a idiot and a pawn of the communists!

  • neocons..haha. i love that word. funny how labels get twisted around..

  • stop paying taxes

  • Well Mr. sknabt. You don't deserve this great country you have been blessed to live in. Revolutions are not an unheard of possibility sir. What we have going on today is somewhat of a left wing, liberal, attack and a redefining of what our founders intended America to be . A coup would be necessary if the the constitution was under attack by the elected officials the people entrusted to protect it. And if that were the case I hope a coup would talk place.

  • This goes to show you how clueless you are, attempting to compare a brilliant man like Thomas Sowell with a self absorbed mouth the like of Rosie.

  • Bring on the coup!!!

  • Thomas is right when he says we are living off the capitol of the past. But....he is crazy in a way that only an old Republican can be. Obama is the change that will grow new capitol to feed upon.

  • How will Obama "grow" new capital. Contrary to your belief, capital, does not "grow" on trees. Capital can only be created through production and savings, of which the government has neither. The maker of this video calls Sowell a pseudo intellectual, I find Sowell to be an honest and plainspoken scholar that looks at all sides of an argument before voicing an opinion. Unlike Paul Krugman, who ignores all evidence that contradict his idiotic beliefs.Krugman defines the term pseudo intellectual.

  • Big gov't is here. they've just bought America's fate with $780 billion of our children's money. We will have a revolution again, against taxes and for our freedom. The worst thing about the democrats are the liberals. If only the left would read Thomas Jefferson's writings. America is gone, the welfare state is now here, with millions relying on gov't for money and jobs - progress is taxed and media has attacked free speech. Prayer is no longer needed as long as dems rule DC. truley scary!

  • Thomas Sowell is one of the most qualified political thinkers in America. Sorry he didn't say what you want him to say.

One more thing. Why is it that when others (liberals ?) disagree with a conservative, they use derogatory terms ?

  • while not even being able to pronounce pseudo

  • LOL at calling thomas sowell a pseudo-intellectual

  • Thomas Sowell tells the truth, unfortunately a great % of the world today hates truth. Most people are unwilling to admit that a nuclear armed iran could cost millions of lives all over the world....and that's the truth.

  • Wow, that's because they are categorically poor, so the truth must be racist. In terms of relative #s, about 22% of blacks live in poverty. Compare this to whites w/ about 12%. In terms of absolute frequencies, whites have higher numbers. Tom Sowell hides racism and justifies it for bigoted whites. He believes in a mythic meritocracy. The truth is that ascribed status is more influential than achieved. His belief in the free market has theological undertones that would make Bolsheviks jealous.

  • I hear what you are saying but frankly your percentages are theories that mean nothing in the face of overwhelming death & destruction. My point is that in facing the truth we can easily avoid these calamities by being brave enough to take the necessary actions. As a proud African American I had an interesting choice. I could have chosen to blame the negative aspects of my life on racism but instead I chose to get off of my butt and do something to change my life for the better. IT WORKED!!!

  • You're an idiot. Like China, Pakistan, and India wouldn't be more at risk than all of us. Also, those countries have nukes too. Open up your mind. Stop believing these pathetic authority figures.

  • Thanks for calling me an idiot just because I don't agree with your world view; that really makes me want to support your cause. Nice job!

  • Sorry man, I was out of line. It's just that I am so full of rage w/ the lies our media and gov. put out there. Don't listen to these idiots, big gov. and big business are so in bed together that they should get gay married. I'm sorry man.

  • Thanks for the apology! I really appreciate it! I agree with you wholeheartedly about government and big business but it doesn't look like the government is going to change any time soon; our elected officials seem to like things just the way they are; all they care about is getting elected; so we are going to have to take matters into our own hands and not wait for the government to bring about meaningful change.

  • You are really mature and an awesome person. Forgiveness and understanding are virtues that this world needs. Except when standing up to the abuses that we discuss here. I guess I could forgive the elite if they were to go to work for minimum wage in a factory for a couple of months.

  • I agree wholeheartedly! I will pray for their souls but their actions are pure evil; I find it interesting that God does not forgive anyone who is unwilling to repent. Their are not many of our elected officials willing to do that. Right now they are actually considering taxing farmers for livestock because according to them pigs and cows tend to FART which contributes to man made global warming. I'm truly convinced that some of these people are closet santanists; many of them hate Christianity.

  • Or maybe just forgive them for providing minimum wage jobs for those who aren't qualified for anything else to have...

  • Or maybe just forgive those very same business elites for employing their stupid, frat boy sons who never really learned anything in life and aren't qualified to drive a beer delivery truck. "C'mon Bro" -Dean Larrity

  • People, businesses and politicians should not be blamed for doing what they feel is in there best interests. In fact, it is one of the staples of economic freedom to be able to do what is in one's best interests. The problem is that the people don't know how to make the best interests of business and politicians aligned with their own interests, and that is likely to be the responsibility of our degrading public education, and incredibly biased and opaque media practices.

  • What if what is in one's interests is harmful to others? What if it's against the law? What if one's interests lie in deceiving consumers by sending 70 corporate lobbyists per congressman to Washington? What if what is in one's interests is to take subsidies and government contracts, which are paid by tax dollars? While at the same time eschewing the possibility that government might raise a corporations, or rich persons', taxes.

  • You make some excellent points but I still have a problem with politicians because they lie to us & pretend they r looking out for us when they r looking out for themselves & their own world views. I already understand that businesses r in business to make money but politicians r supposed to be representing us. It's the intellectual dishonesty that drives me crazy.

  • I have a problem with people who lie as well. The fact is that they are doing it because they feel it's in their best interests. The point is that we need to correct their interests to correct their behaviors. If citizens indicated that they will not tolerate behavior that does not favor their interests, then their behavior would change. So people lobby. If lobbying all of a sudden had a very negative associative context, politicians who took them would be looked down on very severely.

  • There are two things about which Sowell is unquestionably right: affirmative action doesn't work and schools are going to shit. The fact that he holds degrees and professorships at Ivy League schools demonstrates both points quite graphically.

  • He got to Harvard pre- affirmative action you asshole. That is one of his fundamental reasons for opposing affirmative action, as it calls to question the legitimacy of black person's academic accomplishments in the eyes of society.

I don't agree with him on MANY issues, but his intellect is undeniable. If you ever get a chance, try conversing with this man without having read works by Popper, Kant, Adam Smith, Jefferson, Descartes, Plato, Aristotle and etc and you will be verbally disgraced.

  • I've read secondary and primary sources of all those authors and I can say that I am not one bit impressed w/ Sowell and his bland generalizations about human nature. I see him as a suck up to rich people of all colors. I wish they would remove the social programs that he wants removed. Then poor people and minorities would stand up for themselves. People like Sowell, who justify the existing power structure, couldn't build enough prisons or hire enough cops to put down their rage.

  • people like you seem to always be in love with other people's perceived righteous rage.

  • I've got enough "righteous rage" of my own. I won't rest until hypocrisy and lies are smashed. Face it- we live in a punditocracy where people like Hannity (corporate puppets) have more power than any politician ever has. Of all people, Mike Huckabee has noted that their are 70 corporate lobbyists for every one congressman. Big business and gov. are so in bed that they should get gay married. The dominant myth, espoused by right wingers, is that they are more often opposed to each other, smart.

  • Yea, but Sowell is convinced that the US is meritocratic. That people who work hard will be justly rewarded in a capitalist system w/ little gov. assistance. The truth is that is a myth. Many people, especially minorities truly get what they deserve for their efforts. To achieve success in the US, you have to sell out your social class (Sowell), cheat the system, or just get plain old lucky and be born into wealth (Bushies). Poor and blue-collar people are picked on by people like Sowell.

  • intelligentsia? fuck off man, since when is being educated a bad thing in this country? who the fuck let the crazies walk in and redefine everything?

  • Thomas Sowell=very wise man

  • Sowell is not a "pseudo-intellectual." He's the real thing.

And I agree. A military coup is the likely only way to return the Federal government to its original, constitutionally limited form.

  • Hahaha. "Pseudo intellectual" you wish.

  • "pseudo-intellectual"

This poster is just another product.

  • Most of Dr. Sowell's works and publications deal strictly with facts and statistics which really transcend an opinion. You can't just dismiss the man by throwing insults at him. His ideas, views, opinions, etc. are a result of a critical look at our history, which he lays out clearly in his books and other works. In all the comments against him that I've looked at, I haven't seen anyone debate his insights with evidence or relevant information, merely insults.

  • Sowell is a talented and articulate scholar and academic.

I may not be a conservative, but when it comes to economics and related fields he is absolutely correct. To argue against his work is to argue against a professor who has written comprehensive books on these subjects. In no way is name-calling going to somehow discredit him.

  • Nobama would be a first catalyst for a military coup. If he does indeed take the US where he would like to take it with a Senate and House running a muck. Pelosi and Reid?

  • Are you kidding??? Sowell is one of the most respected philosophers on earth. What are your credentials? I can only imagine. I'd like for you to even define neocon.

  • Pseudo-intellectual huh? And your list of published papers and books is ...?

Thought so. Ya gotta be careful about projection.

  • The liberal bias in the media is rampant. What do you hear about Obama's voting record? What do you hear about his doings in Chicago? All you hear is this 'change' and a 'new way of doing business'. BS! Obama gets elected and it will be change alright. The worse kind.

  • Everything in moderation...including moderation.

    =)

  • "Heaven knows I don't want to see a military coup." - Thomas Sowell

And the use of the word "pseduo-intellectual" with respect to Thomas Sowell really flags you as a moron. Read any one of his books.

  • Oh yeah, dingaling (Naomi) like the Dems AREN'T going to do THIS and worse.

    Third party.. Third party...

  • in a debate, michael eric dyson would kick the ever loving shit outta thomas sowell, pseudo-intellect.

  • "in a debate, michael eric dyson would kick the ever loving shit outta thomas sowell, pseudo-intellect."

Only for an audience of complete friggin' morons.

Dyson's a small mind for even smaller minds.

  • plpfctn, LOL!

  • Wow. How would you find yourself more credible than Sowell again?

  • It's quite simple, really. I know, because common sense tells me, that there is no such thing as "liberal media bias", that there is no "war on faith" spearheaded by radical liberal judges, that Saddam had no WMDs, that the War in Iraq has not made America safer, and that Ronald Reagan was not a genius. Sowell argues the opposite, therefore he is wrong.

  • common sense? Sowell apparently has a TON more than you.

  • you're right, there is no "liberal media bias"... it's a COMPLETELY liberal media!

  • In the first column of Sowell's I ever read, he argued that the "surest consequence" of a Democratic-controlled Senate would be more murderers walking the street. Since then, my intellectual and political education has been determinedly Sowell-less and I feel confident that I am no less richer for it. What I have read of his over the years-endorsing the war in Iraq, the PATRIOT act, the Terri Schiavo nonsense, has tended to confirm that. I'm not impressed by his educational resume, don't bother

  • calling Thomas Sowell a neocon makes you an idiot.

  • whoever made this video is completely a f#cking idiot....

  • Whereas some right-winger droning on about America needing a military coup is really smart. I'm so glad the video starts with the theme from the "Twilight Zone."

  • If someone would have told you thirty years ago that the Soviet Union would be completely gone by the early 1990's, you would have never believed them. Countries are almost always destroyed internally, and I believe that there are just such inseparable divides in this country that I don't know what else it can come to if this pattern continues.

  • Dr, Sowell is the best! I love him, a fantastic american!

  • Thomas Sowell is fantastic, and Colmes looks like Dexter from Dexter's laboratory minus the fact that he is a moron. God Bless Thomas Sowell.

  • pseudo-intellectual?? i'm puzzled. o wait, no im not. im witnessing the classic far left response. dismiss perfectly rational thought as ignorant and unenlightened... it also seems the person who posted this needs to figure out what neocon means. it doesn't apply to sowell.

  • Have you ever read any of his pretentious drivel? He's Anne Coulter without the swear words. Listen to his mush-brained rationalization for America needing a military coup. Rabble rousing idiocy.

  • In response to the first question: Yes. I've read 4 or 5 of his books and read his columns regularly. I don't find it to be drivel because his arguments are fundamentally sound and quite compelling. He also never said America "needs" a military coup. In fact, he hopes to never see such a day. He is arguing that if we continue to see the erosion of individual liberty and constitutional government in favor of judicial activism and ill-conceived economic plans, the army may one day intervene.

  • Ah contraire, Alan quotes him from an article he wrote claiming he thinks the day may come when the only thing that can "save" America is a military coup. We can parse words all day but he's suggesting one may be needed to purge America of - oh my - liberalism. Kick to the curb his pseudo-intellectual rubbish about the intelligentsia and you have your run of the mill Rush Limbaugh wannabe stirring up the angry white male angst for a buck. His entire thesis is idiocy. Harvard degree be damned.

  • He doesn't believe this country "needs" a military coup in itself. If one were necessary it would imply that the state of affairs in this country has deteriorated past the point of no return and all available options have been exhausted. He hopes we never reach that state of affairs as it would be the last thing this country "needs."

  • So you, like Dr. Sowell, you think liberalism is sewing the seeds to a coup?

  • You use the word "liberalism" as if it conveys some positive connotation in and of itself. What I do see is that the policies of people who call themselves liberals have failed across the board, from economic policy to justice system reform, to educating our youth. Will this failure one day snowball to the point where a coup is necessary? I have no idea. Dr. Sowell is making a rhetorical point urging us to consider the long-term ramifications of poor policies.

  • I've said this before and this may sound extreme... but there is obviously an enemy out there that wants to cut our throats. They want to kill all of us and throw us down wells. There are Americans like myself who wish to protect ourselves but there are others who are getting in the way of our self-defense. When someone prevents you from defending yourself against an enemy, what does that person become? I would suggest that they become an enemy.

  • Have you ever read his books, sknabt? If so, which ones?

  • Alan colmes sounds like he hasnt swallowed all the man juice in his mouth when he talks..

  • Pseudo intellectual? Are you out of your mind?! Do you even know who the man is or what he's accomplished?

  • "Pseudo-intellectual" huh? Let's see, B.A. from Harvard, M.A., magna cum laude, from Columbia, and Ph.D. from University of Chicago, all in Economics. I don't agree with a lot of what he says, but lets give credit where credit is due.

By the way, playing Twighlight Zone music over a video clip does not count as intelligent political commentary.

  • The Far Left LOON's inability to discern a Neo Con from a true conservative shows just how intolerant they are.

  • So true.

  • thomas sowell isn't even a neoconservative. he's much more of a libertarian. bill kristol and norman podhoretz are neocons. there are huge ideological differences.

  • Amen !

  • And he's secular, which should stop some of the panty-twisting radicals on here.

  • In her book "The End of America," Naomi Wolf wrote how there were ten steps would-be dictators always seem to take in their effort to destroy freedom and democracy in creating a "fascist shift." By my count, the current US administration has taken 9 of these 10 steps (but only baby steps so far). There are several videos on YouTube of Wolf discussing this, and they're worth a watch.

  • All that I have witnessed here is sknabt asking viewers to ignore the reality of what was actually said by Thomas Sowell in the video.

What a childish way to approach inquiry.

  • Calling Thomas Sowell a "Psuedo-intellectual" is like calling the Sun Cold. Thomas Sowell is brilliant, eloquent, and backs up all of his arguments with hard data. His Book basic economics should be required reading for every school child. And his philosophy of independence, civic virtue, personal responsibility and pursuit of excellence should be adopted by everyone.

  • And "Knowledge and Decisons", and "Is Reality Optional?", and "Marxism", and "Controversial Essays", and "Ever Wonder Why?", and...

  • "Sean Hannity laps it all up like mother's milk."

    More like daddy's milk.

and sowell looks like a white man, painted black. anyone else notice this?

  • Pretty damn racist. Sure Sowell has departed from libertarian views but you're still pretty stupid.

  • my girlfriend is black. furthermore, i don't care if sowell's a fucking anarchist or a neonazi, if you say stupid shit, you get called on it.

    big fucking deal.

  • wow...you have a potty mouth. I have to admit though you sound pretty manly. Pretty cool too. I think that swearing is an underated way to gain respect. You sure gained mine.

  • What, another coup since 2000's? Unnecessary. All they're doing is just putting the finishing touches on the Police State. Don't wake up sheeple, it's scary outside the bed.

  • Fascism is in the wings.

Every time the left gets its act together, even half way, then they start plotting coups.

Just like plot that Smedley Butler revealed that was going to happen to FDR!

  • Sowell didn't say we needed a coup *now* you ignoramuses, he was talking about a future scenario where decision making has been removed to the hands of unresponsive bureaucrats.

Only a know-nothing bedwetter would even get upset about this.

Further, Sowell isn't even close to being a "neocon" unless you define that term as anyone to the right of Dennis Kucinich.

  • Oh. Sweet Jesus! How on Earth is demanding a government that DOES NOT tell you what to do fascist? How is LESS regulation fascist? How is DEcriminalisation of drugs fascist? Dictionaries are inexpensive. Invest in one.

  • retarded uncle tom

  • What allegiance does a person owe to their race? Your racial collectivism is disgusting.

  • How the hell does he think a military coup would save our nation?!? Coups weaken countries, not strengthen them. This is the exact same apocalyptic hocum that fueled the Nazis. We should worry about minority pundits who shill for the Man, lament the disolution of the Whig party, and accuse the government of living in the past.

  • Was the American Revolution a military coup?

  • So, a coup against Hitler would have weakened Germany, Fawksian?

  • Are you saying you think a coup against Hitler would've strengthened Germany? If so, you're naive. There was a whole party to retaliate and succeed him had such a thing happened.

Anyway, I wasn't talking about a coup against Hitler. I was talking about a coup against Washington, which is what Sowell is talking about.

  • Thomas Sowell>sknabt... sway to miss Sowell's point.. it was not that their will be a coup. He was actually illustrating how far this country has slipped and how it was running on fumes. To bad Alan Combs did not ask any real questions about like how is this country degenerate.

  • Thomas Sowell is as much a neo-con as Ted Kennedy is thin.

  • Vote Ron Paul '08

  • American People know anyone on the Fox news show is just wanting to make money. Who cares what they say. Fox was outted for being the laughing stock of news shows.

  • Is that why Fox's ratings are so high?

  • Thomas Sowell is brilliant, you idiot. Fuck you and go to hell, you piece of liberal shit.

  • Dr. Sowell is right. If you listen to the entire interview, you'll see that he is making a straight line projection into the future based on the current American culture and politics. That doesn't deserve Twilight Zone theme music!

  • Pseudo-Intellectual?..what are your qualifications sknabt? Here are Dr. Sowell's:

Senior Fellow at the Hoover Institution, Stanford.

PhD. in Economics, University of Chicago

    A.M. in Economics, Columbia University

A.B. in Economics, magna cum laude, Harvard College

Over 30 books written on topics from economics, history, race relations, and education.

I don't know that we have enough room for all the experience.

  • Yea, Sowell is about as good a political Philosophers as any in the Western Hemisphere... is intellect is way to big for that show... Sowell's common sense is a gift to this country.

  • Holy crap, just watch the bottom news ticker.

  • Thomas Sowell isn't a NEO CON,

he's a classic conservative and a brilliant one at that!
