Book Review House of Night Series

I haven't read the book , but a review of the first book in the series by a reviewer that i respect brought me here.

he pointed out that it contains some plagiaristic elements , (i'm not trying to offend anyone's feelings here, you can like what you want to).

like the vampire school is similar to another book called vampire academy, and the girl has a crescent moon on her forehead(ahem ahem, potter reference).

but , hey that's just my opinion ,

You know that there isn't just Marked, Betrayed, Chosen, Untamed, Hunted and Tempted, there are also Burned, Awakened, Destined - and; Nyx in the House of Night, Fledglin Handbook 101, Dragon's oath, Lenobia's vow and Neferet's curse. :) I really like the House of Night books but I read them in Swedish, so I havn't read Destined yet.

This book, is the WORST book I've ever read. Even worse then twilight. The writing is horrible, and lacks depth. I honestly want to just smack the characters upside the head. Our main character is an idiot: She's a girl that whores around with any cute guy, including a teacher, is whiny, perfect, and lacks any relevence. This series is garbage.

its not only about the sexual references and the swearing. it was just horribly written. No plot. Zoey was too perfect and got everything she wanted and no teenage girl could relate to her. She was whiney and so slutty and a hypocrite. did not enjoy this series.

@FashionLovesMe1 Awwww thank you :))) practice makes you read faster. the more you read the faster you will get. Some people speed read which means they jump some sentences all together and just get a general feel for the story rather than reading each word in their minds :)

Ok one i think Tempted was absolutly fabulous it fit in perfectly well with the rest of them and was quite depressing though it happens to be my favorite out of all 9 which includes the fledgling handbook. And im like Zoey too but for other reasons. I have omega boy trouble, im always lost and confused on what to do cause im always trying to do whats best for my friends, i hate geometry, my cat thinks he owns his world and im down to earth kinda. Lol. im very similar to Zoey actually!

I get what you mean. I think this story is very unique and very good but I don't think it's well written. I agree with animegurl66 that some words are overused but I understand why Anna liked the books too. I love them too and I really hope Z ends up with Stark(Lol. @kimberlyjonas86 Well ... There are stickers on the books saying not suitable fir younger readers here in the uk. the books do deal with some sexual content but not a lot. As a teenager now I guess u should be ok with reading about this level of sexual content. But be warned. It's not all innocent in this series of books :))

@teamPeeta4ever Well, in my opinion I think you may be a little young yet to read them as it contains some sexual scenes. The books come with a 'not recommend for young readers' here in the uk. However, if you're an 'old' 12 you might me ok with it :))

I was really begininng to respect your opinion on books. But now I cant believe you likee this series! Its so immature, the authors overuse the words poopie and boobies. and the stereotypical gay character gets so annoying. I was really hoping you were gonna say you didnt like this series, the authors try to hard to relate to teens. Ive just read Marked...and it was enjoyable but the whole use of the elements and summoning rituals / circles were a bit overused in the book in my opinion. I was bored of them. I was like...your a vampire, kick some butt! Also I felt that some of the attempts to make the characters to sound teenage was lame... But Im going to keep reading and hope the series gets better!

I agree with you. I enjoyed the series from books 2-5. Then I read book 6. It was terrible. Everything I didn't like about the other books was multiplied in the 6th. So now I don't like the House of night series anymore. Pity.
