this is my favorite song by the most talented living rock'n'roll composer (and owner of the most horrible head of hair), Adrian Belew. if only most young people were able to grasp just how deep and lush his music is, especially this incredible track. his talent flies over the heads of most of the american youth, unfortunately. nevertheless, if you can understand his complex composition and performance methods, you wont find a more enjoyable listening experience. my humble opinion, of course!

My goodness, he became pretty old in face......In my memory he is the young guy on guitar in the band of Frank Z. in the 70ies. Ok, I became older too, over 50 now. But Adrian became pretty old in face - ok, the last time I have seen him with Frank Zappa in the late 70ies in Vienna. I had 1 record - he is still very good on guitar.

I have a Fly Deluxe.

I absolutely LOVE the way it feels. Both hands feel perfectly placed, the guitar is balanced and extremely expressive, touch sensitive.

But the tone... it has this "metallic" character, and I can hear similar tone in this vid. Some days I just go with it, other times I put it down for weeks and gig with LP, Strat, BC Rich or PRS... but my hands love the feel of the Parker.

Does that MOJO of yours sound more... like it's made of wood? I so wish 4 a middle p/u...

Hi Harry - I hear what you say. Mojo def sounds more 3-dimensional than Deluxe - not sure if its the wood, the Duncan pickups or both. I assume u mean the mag tone. My piezo goes thru an Aura into an acoustic amp. U seen the new Parker DragonFly? It seems deeper/heavier - more wood IMHO = more tone + more options on pickups.

Steve - yeah, the mag pickups. I went so far as pulling out all the Park electronics. I pulled the pickups and had a custom builder re-wind those, since I didn't think any standard unit would defeat the issue. I tried different pots, a mid boost, other things. I still play it now and then, it's not the worst thing. But one day I think I'll have to get a Mojo, the design is too good to walk away from. I will go chk out a DragonFly, thanks for the tip!

I have a Fly, a Nightfly I liked them better. I put a DiMarzio Tone Zone and Air Norton into it and the metallic sound went away. I know what you're talking about it got annoying after a while, its just the stock DiMarzio pickups Parker uses.
