Brel is definitely not comparable, much more intense, dramatic and funny at the same time. Creativity, sensitivity, desperation and energy, that's Brel.
I Imagine you must speak and understand french a little to feel the real difference.

I like the intensity of Brel. I believe he lived thorugh his songs before writing them. That makes him unique to me :-)

I love the song but actually this sounds better sung by Marc Almond in English or even in German by Klaus Hoffman
