  • Pff.. no way I'm gonna look for ranus42's comment >.>

  • the way that he played a whole entire sermon, with the focus being the preacher talking about "playing house" = amazing!! Never before done, back then. And when you really think about this song, when you really "Get It" you see that he's turning it on its head. Here's this outraged preacher, desperately trying to save souls from a life of sin, & Green Velvet took it and made it into a celebration OF sinning! Since this music was always played at 3am in spots filled to the rim w/sinners on drugs

  • "I dont care, the BIBLE IS STILL RIGHT!!!!" This song is effing brilliant. I saw people lose their minds, when this was played for the first time. OldSkool Represent!!!!!

  • that was excellent.

  • this is the real house music i remmber playing this jam

  • I wish green velvet would play this every now and again in his set. One of my favourites but I've never seen him stick a needle on it. Mabey its just bad luck

  • O.O

i was in a club 'KOMPLEXUS'' Portugal

  • awsome

  • green velvet isn't a they, it's a he. It's just one dude.

  • @genewitch

Yeah it's the alter ego of Cajmere, if I'm not mistaken

  • @ibuprofen303 You are correct....but both are pretty out there so I think "The other personality" is the best term.

  • Lord, please send forth the accapella down to your humble servants. Amen

  • i wish i could find the ass wipe that swiped the crate where this record stood.......... imagine what else was in there.. fucking ass hole....... a genuine classic house track.

  • Green Velvet? Think they did a techno tune with a voice sample going, something bout those little pills, unreal the thrills, they heald until they kill a million, brain cells.

  • @TheReddwarff100 yes, green velvet - la la land. Check out the Dave Clarke remix!

  • Love this track It's in my Relief Records pile all right for this post.

  • I heard this on a Relief Records disc, from the UK, that my friend's sister brought home, after spending a summer there for college. I always liked that it was Chicago House printed in Europe and brought back to a couple of Chicago-area kids.

  • Is there any link for the whole speech or something...i´m searching for the acapella!

Hope somebody can help me :-)

  • I remember when this was underground and the kids back in the day would go crazy at the clubs, sweat flying all over place, people dancing in front of speakers, weed smoke and incense's flowing through the air. The energy back then was nothing like today. I recently went to a club and I was bored, no energy, the dj was trying too hard and the music was unimaginative nothing made me want to get up and dance I fell asleep in the couch. House music isn't about being politically correct.

  • @ranus42 Dude you honestly haven't been to the right parties today then haha sorry for that. Check out HARD events. Nightclubs suck these days, it's unfortunately that masses upon masses of people (douschy ignorant guys) who are only there because it's in right now. Hit up HARD, house has changed and evolved into something epic. Imaginative is an understatement.

  • @ranus42 blah blah blah, not as good as in my day, whatever mate, you sound like a cunt...

  • @tigerarkan88 Why thank you sometimes I can act like one but so what.

  • @ranus42 Come to Berlin, you will change your mind about clubbing in 2011.

  • Comment removed

  • @ranus42 Did it ever come to your mind that you probably saw a shitty dj at an equally shitty club or that your mdma was bunk?

I was around when this track came out. I don't go clubbing that often anymore, but when I go I don't notice anything that has changed ever since.

  • @derpif then you're blind because a lot has changed and I come the era of disco's in the late 70's and early 80's.

  • @ranus42 I'm born 72 and started clubbing 89, so that's probably why I don't notice any change.

Also I'm from Germany and things may be a little bit different here.

It's as good as it can get.

  • @ranus42

..that time, there was a special spirit on the dance floors,- it was a revolution and we were hungry :) I like to say, that the doors to a higher consciousness were open & we moved through

  • @ranus42 I'm not saying your wrong, but did you take to account that your 13 years more dead now?

That said I also have the notion that the kids are more conservative these days. The children and grandchildren of the 68 generation are having an adverse reaction to the liberation of the sixties and seventies. Lets just hope that todays toddlers will grow up to oppose that again. Cant wait to see what music that will bring xD

  • @ranus42 its called getting old lol. Although I cant stand the music that is pumped out today.

  • @ranus42 go to berlin

  • @KOKETTIERTEN

    Sorry impossible, we´re full here.

  • @ranus42 Then you don't know what places to go.

Don't get me wrong I'm not saying the energy is the same... Defently not.

But saying that you where bored....

  • @ranus42 you are going to the wrong clubs ranus.

  • @ranus42 its cause you're old sucker

  • @discoowl I'm not mad at you for calling me that because I am :) Hell, I go back too the disco days and I don't regret that at all wish I could go back their now but I'm just not happy with a lot of the House music today; it's boring.

  • @ranus42 where have you been the past 5 months?

  • @czerrnla it sure hasn't been hanging out in clubs; 'been there and done that' when clubbing was fun and unpretentious; we didn't have cell phones and stone tablets aka ithinkpads.

  • @ranus42 you're absolutely right. It's somewhere else now. Not at clubs. It's somewhere YOU are not at. And to be honest, I think you're jelly.

  • @czerrnla "jelly" ha not by a long shot, honey I've always been lean and fit even during my hard clubbing days way before you we're born chile.

  • @ranus42

dude, u just have to know the right clubs ;)

  • @ismoketherainbow Not at my age and unfortunately mother nature has rendered her wisdom on my body. :)

  • @ranus42

keeping in mind the track was released in '95 your ar at least 30 years old. so maby, just maby, not the music or atmostphere changed, maybe you are just too old?:)

  • @ranus42 maybe in america... here we still dance in front of speaker smoke weed and defenitely sweat a lot

  • @ranus42

Come to London, Amsterdam, Paris, Berlin or Lyon and see for yourself.

  • @ranus42 Find a better club dude! There were boring clubs back in the mid 90s too from what I remember. Green Velvet used to be king of the afterparty back in the day, but I'm sure there are some new kings now.

  • @ranus42 Berghain.

  • @ranus42 wow you went 1 time to a random club and judge about todays music? congrats!

  • @ofm2k7 yeah, maybe it had something to do with my age since I'm from the disco era.

  • CHICAGO HOUSE!!!!!!!

  • EPIC!!!!

  • I bet this is were Uwe Schmidt got the idea for Geeez n Gosh.

  • YEAHHHHHHHHHHHH..........VENGAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!

  • You know, i was the only cat in dublin with this in 93, got in on whitelabel,,and this is the US re issue, the original..had a mighty one called,,, They came from outer space,, it is hugeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

TEMple track you pup,,, how you keeping, my little guy means i dont get to yak so much..hope your well bro..

  • @71dubfreak only cat in dublin?????? i guarantee you ya dont talk like that to anyone in dublin you fucking sickner fuck over to america if you want to be a wigger

  • @gt2e There is a village somewhere, missing an idiot,, go there find employment,, you appear to fit the bill..do not allow the way i talk be of any concern to you,, get on with your life, dont concern yourself at all with someone you dont know, never will meet, disregard all you read here, walk the dog, find a girl, get an interest, throw a frisbee, get out,, more..it is not a rehearsal, this is it, live it..

  • @71dubfreak will if i shouldnt concern myself with somwone ill never meet,if i should disregard everything i read here then why the fuck did you bother your self? you fucking retard you cant even follow your own advice,as for walking the dog or playing frisbee are these things that fulfill you????haha sounds about right for someone who thinks they're american but chill cat yo the man up in here i aint even tryin to beef with y'all, peace out biatch

  • @gt2e you dont seem to have the required wit or intellect of a decent enough troll,, you seem to be stuck between tourettes and youngest childs syndrome, most trolls develop their craft before they use the internet to bring their stupidity to a world audience,,i dont doubt, you could be funny, i dont doubt, wit could out weigh random banal mediocre insults,, just not today it seems.

  • @71dubfreak my my havent we changed our tone since we were the only "cat" in dublin!!haha you geek why do you contradict yourself? im gona break it down for you i can tell your slow,Q.what makes a good troll? A. someone who's so annoying people cant help but argue with them, now if i have'nt "the wit" or developed my craft enought why the fuck are you still replying? you fucking idiot and by the way no im not a troll i just hate false, fake people who cant come up with their own identity

  • God is a metaphor for 'having to live with yourself in your old age.' Every man at 50 years old has the face he deserves, they say. The song makes that observation... and decides to immolate the future on a pyre of hedonistic orgy. See you in la-la land, party people. (from a safe distance.)
