What a kick ass song!! Love how they take their time building up to chorus. Whenever it's on sat radio I find I'm turning it up a little more every 20 to 30 secs and when "rock me" finally gets sung its wide open and kids are screaming "dad! Turn it down, it's too loud" but now they like these good old tunes as music is in a bad way these days.
One Dislike REALLY? musta been my girl friend cause i listin to this song OVER and OVER and OVER! haha GREAT WHITE ROCKS!!!!! Sure wish the 1980 never ended
i once read a review for great white that said these guys never really got famous during the 80s rock explosion...that i agree with. but then they said there only good song was "once bitten twice shy"...then i SHAT out my ears drums. definitely 1 of my favorites from the 80s. goes to show that its not all about talent. not only did they write kick *** songs but they performed em justs good as they recorded not a whole lot of people in any band or genre of music can say the same about themselves.
@pruzman - There are many other Great White songs I would put ahead of Once Bitten, Twice Shy. Rock Me has always been one of my favorite Great White songs.
Saw them live for the first time in May, after 25 years! Was off the radar. Have you heard Tesla's new "Twisted Wires" album? It's absolutely amazing....grab one:) Rock on!
Show how old I am, they opened for Judas Priest's Defenders of the Faith tour in Baltimore, spring of 1984. What a great show. Just before JP "jumped the shark" with Turbo. G/W were no names then but still rocked.
the one two punch. I played save all your love by great white and then rock me for girls. This has twice got me lucky. you can't argue with results. It turns out the ladies have good taste in music as well.
I saw these men in March 1991. My wife was 6 months pregnant with my daughter. They put on a FANTASTIC show. My daughter even rocked that night. Still love the music! It gives me goose bumps that they build to a thunderous climax. Almost better than sex.
I saw these men in March 1991. My wife was 6 months pregnant with my daughter. They put on a FANTASTIC show. My daughter even rocked that night. Still love the music!
This is what REAL ROCK is all about! Brings back great memories of ice cold Coors Light overflowing outta the cooler, jammin' in the basement with a few buds in the neighborhood, driving the neighbors crazy.I saw these guys in '89 with Tesla and Badlands. My buddy caught a towel from Jack at the show.Makes me sad,to see/hear what today's "music has become.I can't believe how this horrible rap shit has brainwashed and distorted society. Thanks for posting this vid! It's fucking amazing!!!
I've listened to this video about 3 times over and over and I keep waiting for this guys voice to crack. It never does. What an absolutely AMAZING vocal display.
@mizzouborn - 80's hair metal/bands are kickin ass bro!! Cinderella and Great White were, 'and still are,' proud to be part of that, KICK ASS DECADE!!!
@tlw6224 A good friend of mine Lorne Doyle AKA: Lorne Black who palyed bass for Great White back in the 80's (when Great White was Great) was the guy who wrote this/ your favorite song, "Rock Me". When Jack and Niven got rid of Lorne, they (in my opinion) got rid of the Great in Great White. I happen to know that Lorne has some kick ass music that he has made ever since then, I know this because he re-recorded the album at my house, so I have them all on disc, and they're GREAT.
Shit Audie is a busy boy on those drums!!! The whole band was badass!!! They never got the attention they deserved. They were always shadowed by G&R and what a shame because Great White was much better and talented.
I love these guys..their music is sick, it rocks and all the good stuff about the music and band.. EXCEPT..This guy must have had the WROST hairstyle in that era..There's no way...I mean were the hair stylists on dope everyday they cut his hair.. GEEEEEEEEZZZZZ..Everyone els in the band looks like a rocker..This guy's hair make him look like Mr. Gruesome from the Flinstones... c mon.....
I was trying to figure out what kind of guitar mark kendall's playing i thought it was a charvel but it looks like an aria pro here? great song miss the 80's music. probaly the best era.
@5150rain I think they are made by Buddy Blaze both this red one with the woman portrait and his lightning bolt strat. I saw an interview with Mark that was recent and he said someone showed him their BB custom made guitar and Mark had him make a few for him.
I saw them at a club back in 97. I caught an empty water bottle that Jack tossed into the crowd. He autographed it for me. They rock live. I listen to their stuff all the time. I miss the 80s.
Sounds really great live! I would have loved to be there! Unfortunately, I was born in 1983 and I was only 5 yrs old in 1988. Anyway, I've been watching this concert here on Youtube and I'm really enjoying it.
Glam rock, big hair bands or whatever - these guys are one serious bunch of live musicians. Who can sing live like that these days? 80s metal/hard rock forever
Great White is one of my Favorite groups ever..Jack Russel can sing like Robert Plant and that is not easy at all.."Rock Me" and "House of Broken Love" are my very favs of theirs..Mark Kendal's guitar playing is so underrated....awesome band..The 80's were the best..I have 820 records started collecting 1962..and 300 CDs..Music is my best friend.
Compare their live sound to the live sound of Aerosmith or Van Halen--especially the vocals (thats right, Dave). And I am a huge Asmith and VH fan. But these guys totally kick ass.
Never fails, every summer I pull out the Great White albums. They put me in such a good mood. Jack Russell is one of my favorite singers from the 80's for sure. So much energy and excitement in his voice. If you guys have time check out my channel and our bands original, very 80s sounding, and yes I am using Great White video on youtube to promote myself. hahahaha.....big influence.
So sexy. This song gives me goosebumps all over. Whew! And matters are not helped by my sexy Michael Lardie playing his harmonica. That lucky damn harmonica!!!!! haha. I love this.
1983 ,i had the privalidge of attending a court ordered drug class, and the lead singer was in this meeteing for the same reason. He introduced himself to me,but at that time,I didnt have a clue who Great white was.
Great show. Did MTV record/air this one? I only remember the GNR and White Lion shows from the Ritz. Not sure how I missed this one, but damn I wish I hadn't.
I was at this show, just turned 21...they SMOKED...NOT hair metal, these guys were straight up blues based kick ass rock n roll, lots of booze, and girls girls girls everywhere, all young and beautiful, not covered in tattoos and body hardware, and no fat/old chicks whatsoever. Man those were the days....
@chokonacock I remember those days. I was a rock and roll kid stuck in a dead end job in a dead end town. I watched this show on MTV back when they played music, not the shit that's on there now. I agree with the comment about the ladies. Seems like nowadays, the women make an attempt to look like shit. 80's chicks ruled.
They make fun of "Glam Metal" but any of them are insane live. True musicians unlike the garbage put out today and the trashy grundge era that ruined good rock.
97% of teens would cry if they saw Robert Pattison(Edward Cullen from Twilight) standing on top of a skyscraper, about to jump. If you're one of the 3% who would sit there eating popcorn screaming "DO A FLIP YOU SPARKLY FAGGOT!" then copy and paste this =D
Thanks..Guy's like Russell, lardie and Kendall especially do not get enough dues!,,,,,,They Rock!....Hey the Whole group friggen rocked!,,,I miss these day's and that woman that Rocked me!
awesome song & band too bad 1 of the guitar player's burned up in that bar fire in R.I . a few year's back,I think it was the blonde guy with the red guitar .. So sad 4 all that died that night .... csc/09 in Lynchburg V.A. (U.S.A.)
Nope, the blonde guy is Mark Kendall.... still alive and still in the band. The guitarist you are talking about is Ty Longley, who was also in the band playing guitar at the time of the fire.
I was born in 1988, shitty i didn't get to enjoy this shit when I was a teenager. It sux now cuz all the music now is corporate manufactured, catering to an audience in order achieve max profits. I view music as an art form where artists make their own music and the audience comes to them. It's the other way around now, the pushing the music on us!
Yep, i was a 70's 80's teenager. We are lucky we had that music. Kids today have Jonass brothers and what not crap. I was these guys in concert around 88. They were hipped up and warmed up and that guitar player was so pumped up he was like a jitter bug, yet smooth as silk. Hes got great hands and if you think he sound good here, you should hear what it sounds like standing right in front of his Marshall stack. I will never forget it.
I hear you, So gratefull you and I grew up with decent music not like todays music. Im surprised to hear alot of todays kids realize that and listen to music of our generation. Hopefull music of this caliber will return. Thank you YouTube!! for the memories...
Yes, some kids, some of them, go back to our time because they want the good music. There ear tells them what is good. When you we didnt have time to go back generations because there was so much new music every single day we could not keep up with it all. Plus, it was better music than some of the older stuff. I hope music gets better. It is ill now, or even dead already, but I hope it will get better soon, It has too, its so low now there is no place to go but up. LoL
if they had the flu then they really got themselves together for that show, almost perfect, the only problem i had was the fans shouldve been booming!
Oh my god!!!!!! This is so amazing!! Thanks so much! I miss seeing them its been almost two years, I wish I could go to EVERY show these guys put on, but my age restrcits that, ughh, especially when they keep having over 21 shows!!
Axe kicken band!.Seen them 4 times and they never disapointed.Mark Kendall is easily one of those underrated guitarist and he can kick axe!...The vocals all the way through....drums,bass etc.....They Rock!
LOTS of talent in this band, AND sorry but hafta sey that Whitesnake got a ass KIKKIN haven great white as an opener!! *no offense "holyMuscle' but Queensryche is the most under rated band, (not seyin they better "russel and co"
I'm a big Queensryche fan, but I would say maybe Queenryche gets a little more respect than Great White. They are both underappreciated by the masses.

Dam I miss the 80's, being a 80;s teenager was the best years of my life!!
soulseek1111 2 years ago 5

Thank you YouTube!! for the memories...
soulseek1111 2 years ago 4
Yes, some kids, some of them, go back to our time because they want the good music. There ear tells them what is good. When you we didnt have time to go back generations because there was so much new music every single day we could not keep up with it all. Plus, it was better music than some of the older stuff. I hope music gets better. It is ill now, or even dead already, but I hope it will get better soon, It has too, its so low now there is no place to go but up. LoL

LOTS of talent in this band, AND sorry but hafta sey that Whitesnake got a ass KIKKIN haven great white as an opener!! *no offense "holyMuscle' but Queensryche is the most under rated band, (not seyin they better "russel and co"
herbiedrumr369 2 years ago
I'm a big Queensryche fan, but I would say maybe Queenryche gets a little more respect than Great White. They are both underappreciated by the masses.
waldonewman 2 years ago
Totally agree. Queensryche needs MUCH more attention.
blacksabbathmetal 2 years ago
sorry i love great white but whitesnake's 1987 is the best album of the 80s followed probably operation mindcrime or appetite for destruction.

beatitbuzzkill 2 years ago
This is the most underrated band in History!
Were are the other 5 bands that sound just like this?
You're not talking about the called "hair metal" bands, like Poison, or Warrant (great bands too).
stevieVantanna, try Tokio Hotel, or maybe, Elton John.
A band with a pure rock, like Great White, isn't for sensitive hears.
HolyMuscleOfLove 2 years ago 4
that`s the way music should be: passionate, thrilling, rocking!!!! great, great white!
