@gohddigeanixa Do you mean the "modern football system" that was invented by Rinus Michels at Ajax in the late 60's and introduced to Barcelona/Spain by Johan Cruyff when he became the manager of Barcelona in 1988? Oh that one. Yeah its actually a Dutch system implemented by Johan Cruyff and continued his country men Louis van Gaal, Frank Rijkaard and most recently one of his former players, Pep Guardiola. Cruyff is real the daddy of this Barcelona/Spain team. He fathered their style.
Spain?? need`s at the least 16 years to get Brazil it`s only won once and it was very hard against Netherland, Holand, something like that. look how we beat Italy very easy and it is a great team. even against Germany wasn`t that hard We can`t win all, but we will always fight on the field for it..
In those day, it wasn't common for a player in South America to go to Europe. The best football wasn't necessarily in Europe, like today. This only began to happen more often from the mid 1980s onwards. For example, the best players in the world, who played for the Brazil 1970 squad were ALL playing in Brazilian clubs. So, how could the best football be in Europe if the best players were all in Brazil? Think about it.
come on how the fuck people dare compare spain with brazil??? brazil is the best soccer team in the world why people compare spain that win the world cup by the refs helps and fifa helps come on people
@DarkSoldier1992 Well, Spain has a good team, but my heart starts fluttering as soon as the Divine Canaries enter the field. They are actually the only ones, although Argentina, Germany and Italy are of course great. When that deadly steam roller moves forward it is like a different game. Said by a Dutchman who remembers Brazil - The Netherlands 1998.

1970 Pele was the lynchpin player, and Brazil DEFINATLEY would not have won the 1970 world cup without Pele. He scored 4 goals in 6 games and unlucky not to score double that. He also directly assisted 5 crucial goals also: i.e.the winner for Jairzinho against England, one for Tostoa in the quarters, one for Riveline in the semis, and one each for Jairzinho and Carolos Alberto in the final!!
@opera123 you never heard such bollocks? lmao do some research and google best brazilian team in history, they will mention 1970 brazil squad, you just telling me facts that are obvious because he indeed was in the squad so obviously he influenced the team with his skills or else he wouldnt be remember today, but it has been said by many that Brazil could have won 1970 world cup without Pele, he wasnt the backbone like Xavi, Maradona Johan Cruyff and Franz Beckenbauer

Pele was THE key player, he scored 4, directly assisted 5, won the freekick against Czech which Rivelino scored from, and won a free kick against Romania which he scored. He also linked between Jairzinho & Tostao who then set up Jairzinho to score the crucial 2nd goal v Uruguay in the semi.
@opera123able ok I understand your facts on 1970 and I know what Pele did during that specific world cup, my point is that Pele is not much of a leader and Im saying that if Pele wasnt in that squad Brazil still could have won the world cup, besides you are wrong 1970 was the strongest brazilian squad in their history every sports writers and bloggers agree with it as well...Pele is extremely overrated thanks to his stastistics and not skills...1000 goals or playing in usa dont prove ur the best
@Anton21Soto Pele only scored more goals for 1000 was 6 times Brazilian champion, 2 time champion continental club, continental champion numerous selections, won more than 100 titles by the Saints and was the author of the most brilliant moves in football history.
For me, you know nothing about football.
It only remains to say that Maradona, Messi, Xavi and others were better than Pele, hahaha
@TheFreddyDay yeah here we go again with statistics after statistics, Pele was lucky enough to play along with really good players who actually helped him go all the way on the top, he played in brazil and usa....but what about europe? no? also he played for Santos for a long time so obviously he built a strong chemistry with the players and Santos is a top team in Brazil, and usa back then you know there werent much competition, just like in Brazil so it was quite easy to earn those titles
@TheFreddyDay I would respect him more if he had played in Europe since its more challenging there and yes based on skills plus titles Xavi, Maradona and Zidane and others are better than Pele, these players were leaders, Pele was simply a player who sometimes gave assists and score goals, oh btw offside did not apply back then oh and back then defenders werent as skilled as of today and stop with that lame excuse of' ''you know nothing of football'' its annoying...and plz stop with statistics..
Santos won the World Club Champs in 1962 against Benfica (champs of Europe). The score was 8 - 4 for Santos, Pele scoring 5 goals -he scored a hatrick in Lisbon which is in Europe
In 1963 Santos won it again beating AC MIlan, Pele scoring twice in Milan which is in Europe. 1958 world cup Pele scored 6 goals against European opposition. i.e a top Wales team, hatrick against France and 2 against Swedan in the final
This all proves Pele was better than the Europeans.
@Anton21Soto hahahaha, man football has evolved, all evolved and doors, you should not compare their player based on these arguments, but the difference was that player for the team and the selection ...
Pele is fired 100 times better than any player and the way football goes, will never have a player like him ...
Hang on a sec, Pele scored 1281 goals in 1363 games, thats 94% goal scoring ratio!! His international goal scoring record for Brazil is 77 goals in 92 games, which is 84%. He's the 3rd highest international goal scorer of all time, but the number one guy, who is Iranian, scored all his goals against the weakest international teams. Puskas is no.2 and he was a pure footballing genius.
There is no way that the 1970 Brazil team would have won the 1970 world cup without Pele. Pele attracted 2 to 3 man markers per game, which freed up team mates extra time & space to benefit. esp Jairzinho & Rivelino
Brazil lost Gerson for the games against England and Romania and it showed cos they struggled more, Pele was the difference with 2 goals against Rom and the direct assist against Eng
In the final Pele scored 1 and directly assisted 2 in a 4-1 win, need I say more?
@opera123able you just giving me facts on what happen....I know that all you saying I know that!!, everything revolves around Pele when he was on the squad, he was the football superstar so he obviously influenced in the game, but he had it so simple thanks to the players around him, look at Messi for example...top assist and top goal scorer for Barcelona...why? thanks to the players he has around them such as Xavi and Iniesta, but why he isnt that lethal for Argentina as he is in Barcelona? ...
Messi cant do as well for Argentina than Barcelona because he doesn't have as much talent as Pele. Messi rely's on his Barca teamates who he is used to playing with. Pele never had this luxury when he played for Brazil, because very very few of his international colleagues from 1958 to 1970 played for Santos as well.
@opera123able and remember Pele spent a long time in Santos, and most players in the 1970 Brazilian squad played in the Santos so by the time they went to the world cup they had an incredible chemistry that would destroy team after team just Like Spain with Barcelona
@Anton21Soto THATS ABSOLUTLEY FALSE!!!!!! YOU'VE JUST SAID THAT TO TRY AND WIN THE ARGUMENT, BUT ITS WRONG.
Only THREE memebers of the 1970 squad EVER played for Santos, and only TWO of those actually played for the first team, and they were defensive players i.e Carlos Alberto & Clodoraldo.
Pele NEVER, EVER played at club level with the really key players of that 1970 team i.e. Tostao, Jarizinho, Rivelino & Gerson.
Pele has way more talent than Messi. Messi is the overated one, not Pele!!!!
Messi is great for Barcelona, but I saw him in the 2010 World Cup and found him very mediocre considering how people rave on.
I've lost interest in Forotball in the present, hence why I like watching the old days with Pele, Jairzinho, Eusebio, Puskas, George Best etc on youtube.
@Anton21Soto Pele did not go to Europe because the top teams in the world were in Brazil: Santos, Palmeiras and Botafogo, both led by football geniuses, Santos (Pele), Botafogo (Garrincha, Jairzinho) and Palmeiras (Ademir's Guide)!
This was back when Adidas were the king of sports goods... Today, the football they used in this match and those World Cup boots are absolutely class!
Football is now a lot better then in 1970. Respect to Brazil, but they would not beat the Spain from 2010 and Barcelona would rape the Brazilians from 1970!
Quite simply the best ever team the world has ever seen to date.Gerson scored a fabulous goal in that final but the "poetry in motion" in the build up to Carlos Alberto's goal summed up the incredible skill and class of that Brazilian side and put the "beautiful" into the beautiful game as we call it!!
This is one of the best teams to ever win a world cup but Pele and mant brazilians say that the 1958 team was the better team because they had Dede (best passer in the world at.the time
anyone else love how small the world cup trophy is (even todays modern one) compared to other famous trophies. All these heaping hunks of metal like the stanley cup and champions league pale in comparison to what a small golden ball on a single gold stand means.
if i ever get the chance to touch one trophy it would be the world cup.
Wow joga bonito!!!!! :0 goal #4 is got to be the best most beautiful teamwork goal of all time!!!! Pele...the greatest fucken player ever!!! The azteca stadium looks marvelous! Viva mexico! :)
...STILL, PELE SCORED 4 GOALS AND ASSISTED ANOTHER 6 TO HIS TEAM-MATES. UNFORTUNATELY, ONCE PELE STOPPED PLAYING, HIS '70 TEAMMATES COULDN'T MAKE IT AT BOTH 1974 & 1978 MUNDIALS (4TH & 3RD PLACE RESPECTIVELY)..IT WAS OBVIOUS THAT WITHOUT PELE THEY WEREN'T THE SAME PLAYERS..IT WAS PELE WHO MADE THEM BETTER AND GAVE THEM THE INSPIRATION THEY NEEDED. ESPECIALLY, IN 1974, THAT WAS VERY PLAIN AND SIMPLE : BRAZIL DID NOT SCORE EVEN A SINGLE GOAL AT 3 GAMES!!! THREE MATCHES WITHOUT SCORING...LOL :(
THIS IS THE BEST OF THE BEST NATIONAL TEAM THE WORLD EVER HAS SEEN ! GOD PELE INSPIRED VERY GOOD PLAYERS LIKE TOSTAO, GERSON, JAIRZINHO, C.ALBERTO, RIVELINO ETC AND THE RESULT WAS THE BEST FOOTBALL THAT HAS EVER EXISTED. PELE DID EVERYTHING : THE HEADER IN THE "CENTURY'S SAVE" BY GORDON BANKS, THE "CENTURY'S PRETENDING" AGAINST URUGUAY IN THE SEMI-FINAL AND OF COURSE THE "CENTURY'S PASS" AGAINST ITALY IN THE FINAL, IN WHICH HE DID NOT SEE BUT ONLY HEARED THE UPCOMING CARLOS ALBERTO!! STILL..
after world cup in the 1966,italy must play a good world cup.it became the champion of europe in the 1968.but in the 1970 italy played one of the most beautiful world cup of his history.it doesn't matter if it lose the final but how it played the world cup final
@AstonVilla82thebest yes but at least they made it to the final unlike another team I will not mention who blew a two goal lead against Germany in the quarterfinals. I see that many years later you still celebrate Aston Villa's win in the European Cup which was not even called the Champions League yet well I guess you have your old memories.
@AstonVilla82thebest yes I know all about it. It was changed to the champions League in 93 though it was better before as it was only for champions back then now even teams that come in third and fourth can play so how can they even call it a champions leauge when not all teams are champions? If anything now it should be called the European Cup
@truvianni Why should it be called the 'European Cup', when hardly any of the promoted clubs from lower leagues don't stand a chance of winning it. I say keep it as it is and wait for FIFA to be 'kicked out,' and exposing the corruption before even contemplating that.
@AstonVilla82thebest I told you why because now a day a team does not even have to win their own league to be in the so called Champions League back in the European Cup they had to win their league to be allowed to participate in the European cup
@AstonVilla82thebest As for FIFA being corrupt his is not news the only difference is that before England used to benefit from this corruption but now that they do not they call it corrupt. The English are just sore about not getting either the 2018 or 2022 world cup
@truvianni FIFA never minded when: Le Championnat, Serie A was getting successful through foreign players, and now those leagues have distinctly become average the Premier League is doing the same. [Michel Platini & Sepp Blatter] can't stand to be onlookers as English teams get more 'successful' through its foreign imports. ''they're just jealous!''
@AstonVilla82thebest Well actually you are right about foreigners but I would not say that the Premier League is better than the Serie A and not because I am Italian but becaue I feel that they are about equal of course right now more English teams are getting to the finals but Italy still has 12 titles while England only has 11 over all so Italy still has more. Also playing in Italy is very difficult even good players like Mendieta and Gascoigne did not play well in Italy
@TobyisXtremelycool dani alves and adriano from barcelona , oscar from internacional, giuliano, willian, douglas costa from shaktar donestk, and definitely elias ex-corinthians now in atl. madrid him and ramirez protecting the central defenders and helping on counter-attacks...
The strongest Italy team ever, together with the one of Spain 1982. On the other hand that Brasil was the strongest team in football history, with five number 10 playing together... wonderful match...
Carlos Alberto goal = best goal ever scored. Team play, skill, control, vision and an outstanding finish. Incredible tournament. I urge you to watch the other games on YouTube from this World Cup. Italy vs. Germany is another great match.
@koncsaj It was a nice goal but it was the game basically over. Brazil were winning 3-1 with 4 left and Italy knew at that point they had no chance what so ever of getting back in to the match apart from being very tired from the match against Germany. I think anybody could have scored against Italy at that stage of the game.
@truvianni hey dude, in copa america 2007 brasil defeated uruguay in penalties shoots after a dramatic and tough game. Argentina on the other hand had it easy with mexico to whom they beat 3 to 0. In the final brasil (who was supposed to be very exhausted from their previous match)beat the crap outta argentina with a cathegorical 3-0., so please give me a freaking break and don't make silly excuses, all right?
@Taikamya his pass was nice, cute but 16 years later Maradona did it much better so many passes, plays I wont even mention his icon of a goal against England or his goals against Belgium yet that brilliant pass against Germany in the final and like you said Pele was god like but Maradona was god. Pele a mere king. I also think of Maradona had not been fouled so much how much more he could have done
Beautiful! Back when football was about passion, skill and determination. Not like today were its all about money and who dives the most. Hopefully football can be beautiful again and return to its roots.
@1RadicalDreamer it is funny how old people always believe everything from their time was better, I bet people from the 50s said the same thing about football in the 70s and back then it was also about money. Players just didnt get as much of it as they do today but money was also a factor and players did dive just that they did not have rule against like they do today.
teams like brazil and holland will need about 3-4 years 2 rebuild but i don't really see how the azzuri are gunna do the same. they have some nice talent in certain positions but at this rate i can see guys like pirlo & gilardino going 2 rio de janiero (& starting). & that would be a disaster..........
riva was the second top player in that match after pelè

Hang on a sec, Pele scored 1281 goals in 1363 games, thats 94% goal scoring ratio!! His international goal scoring record for Brazil is 77 goals in 92 games, which is 84%. He's the 3rd highest international goal scorer of all time, but the number one guy, who is Iranian, scored all his goals against the weakest international teams. Puskas is no.2 and he was a pure footballing genius.
opera123able 2 months ago
@Anton21Soto
In the final Pele scored 1 and directly assisted 2 in a 4-1 win, need I say more?
opera123able 2 months ago
@opera123able you just giving me facts on what happen....I know that all you saying I know that!!, everything revolves around Pele when he was on the squad, he was the football superstar so he obviously influenced in the game, but he had it so simple thanks to the players around him, look at Messi for example...top assist and top goal scorer for Barcelona...why? thanks to the players he has around them such as Xavi and Iniesta, but why he isnt that lethal for Argentina as he is in Barcelona? ...
Anton21Soto 2 months ago
@Anton21Soto
Messi cant do as well for Argentina than Barcelona because he doesn't have as much talent as Pele. Messi rely's on his Barca teamates who he is used to playing with. Pele never had this luxury when he played for Brazil, because very very few of his international colleagues from 1958 to 1970 played for Santos as well.
opera123able 2 months ago
@opera123able and remember Pele spent a long time in Santos, and most players in the 1970 Brazilian squad played in the Santos so by the time they went to the world cup they had an incredible chemistry that would destroy team after team just Like Spain with Barcelona
Anton21Soto 2 months ago
Messi is the overated one, not Pele!!!!
opera123able 2 months ago
@opera123able
calling Messi overated..are you stupid? Both are legends!

Messi is great for Barcelona, but I saw him in the 2010 World Cup and found him very mediocre considering how people rave on.
I've lost interest in Forotball in the present, hence why I like watching the old days with Pele, Jairzinho, Eusebio, Puskas, George Best etc on youtube.
opera123able 1 month ago
@Anton21Soto Pele did not go to Europe because the top teams in the world were in Brazil: Santos, Palmeiras and Botafogo, both led by football geniuses, Santos (Pele), Botafogo (Garrincha, Jairzinho) and Palmeiras (Ademir's Guide)!

@AstonVilla82thebest yes but at least they made it to the final unlike another team I will not mention who blew a two goal lead against Germany in the quarterfinals. I see that many years later you still celebrate Aston Villa's win in the European Cup which was not even called the Champions League yet well I guess you have your old memories.
truvianni 8 months ago
@truvianni The old European Cup way was the "proper" way to declare yourself CHAMPIONS.
AstonVilla82thebest 8 months ago
@AstonVilla82thebest yes I know all about it. It was changed to the champions League in 93 though it was better before as it was only for champions back then now even teams that come in third and fourth can play so how can they even call it a champions leauge when not all teams are champions? If anything now it should be called the European Cup
truvianni 8 months ago
@truvianni Why should it be called the 'European Cup', when hardly any of the promoted clubs from lower leagues don't stand a chance of winning it. I say keep it as it is and wait for FIFA to be 'kicked out,' and exposing the corruption before even contemplating that.
AstonVilla82thebest 8 months ago
@AstonVilla82thebest I told you why because now a day a team does not even have to win their own league to be in the so called Champions League back in the European Cup they had to win their league to be allowed to participate in the European cup
truvianni 8 months ago
@AstonVilla82thebest As for FIFA being corrupt his is not news the only difference is that before England used to benefit from this corruption but now that they do not they call it corrupt. The English are just sore about not getting either the 2018 or 2022 world cup
truvianni 8 months ago
@truvianni FIFA never minded when: Le Championnat, Serie A was getting successful through foreign players, and now those leagues have distinctly become average the Premier League is doing the same. [Michel Platini & Sepp Blatter] can't stand to be onlookers as English teams get more 'successful' through its foreign imports. ''they're just jealous!''
AstonVilla82thebest 8 months ago
@AstonVilla82thebest Well actually you are right about foreigners but I would not say that the Premier League is better than the Serie A and not because I am Italian but becaue I feel that they are about equal of course right now more English teams are getting to the finals but Italy still has 12 titles while England only has 11 over all so Italy still has more. Also playing in Italy is very difficult even good players like Mendieta and Gascoigne did not play well in Italy

@koncsaj It was a nice goal but it was the game basically over. Brazil were winning 3-1 with 4 left and Italy knew at that point they had no chance what so ever of getting back in to the match apart from being very tired from the match against Germany. The head-pass that Pelé gives to Jairzinho score the 3:1 was AMAZING, OUTSTANDING.. and later on he gives a Godlike pass to Carlos Alberto.
Pelé nº1 forever. The King. The Man to still be beaten. The living Myth.
ps: I firmly believe that if Pelé played all worldcups as a striker, he would have scored a lot more than 12 goals.
He played 1 half-time WC(1958), 2 games in '62, 1 game in '66 and played as a midfielder in '70.
He could have scored like 30 goals or so.
