Yeah fair fucks to Sweet Savage for playin not easy with Metallica fans specially being the first support act of the night, This the first in the four times Ive seen Metallica play were the support act have actually gone down well. all you have to do is type Lost Prophets Dublin into the search to see what I mean thats one gig they'll never forget.
what is it with Metallica fans being so hostile to support bands?? i've noticed this too!!!! do they not realise, without a suppport act, they will have nothing to do for a few hours except stand about waiting, i think these guys and Ten D got the best responce from the hardcore Metallica fans that i have ever seen, i thought SS went down really well, Ten D, wasn't quite sure about them when i heard they were on the bill, but they wern't bad.

ok, maybe there wern't 30,000, but the grounds were well over half full. Not really the point, why do Metallica fans have to be so fucking aggressive towards other bands, especially support bands, i thought these guys fucking rocked, even if you haven't heard of them, they deserve respect for not only getting up there infront of a bunch of hostile bastards but also for being one of the reasons Metallica even exist, i think alot of Metallica fans have forgotten where their beloved band came from.
I'm not a hardcore metallica fan, I've seen em loads of times, I went for tenacious d so I'm not being aggressive to sweet savage simply because "METALLICA RAWK YEAAAH!" sweet savage sucked, simple as.
They're old, they had no energy and their music was bland and uninteresting. Yeah much respect for getting up in front of a crowd that size, but we're still allowed have an opinion on them, and mine is that they were shit. You know not every band that YOU love are awesome, get over yourself.
I'm not defending them here. But uninteresting and bland? what did you call Metallica's set, i swear the first 6-7 songs just blended together, no musicianship, no nothing. I'm not saying these guys were the best thing ever and i expect other people to have varied opinions but jesus, they are as old as Metallica. From a musical point of view, their music is much more complex and entertaining than Metallica was, fair fucks to them, i hope they do well for themselves, i thought they rocked.
I was there too, twas indeed a great show, deffinately worth flying to Dublin for :)

the place was barely a quarter full when sweet savage came on and not even half of that quarter were even listening.
Sweet Savage may be good, but they're old and no one knows who the fuck they are.
