I had a lot of female figures in my life--my aunt, my teachers, etc. To say a family "should" have one thing or another is actually really hurtful--particularly to children of widowed parents, such as me. I totally relate to your part at the beginning. I got pregnant at a young age, before I figured things out. I thought I was just bi but I realized I was very wrong about a year later. Now I stay married to my husband because I love him... but most people don't get it. I get tired of explaining it! I had a lot of stereotypes about gay people as well. My dad can never know, but everyone else around me does and it feels so good to be honest! :)

I am very surprised and still in shocked that gay bullying actually happening in America. It is just as bad as other countries that publicly against homosexuality. I lived in Asia when i first came out in High school and every single one of my friends and siblings accepted me for being who i am. I have a wonderful experience coming out as i recall.
I really thought coming out and being accepted is such an easy thing for the kids here in America ,but i am dead wrong about this.
It turns out that homosexuality is not such a "gay" lifestyle after all. They have a shorter lifespan, a higher suicide rate, and they are at higher risk for certain diseases like HIV/ AIDS, per CDC statistics. It gets better when you leave the homosexual lifestyle behind. It gets better when we help homosexuals find a way out. Word of encouragement: There IS a way out!
Truly Inspirational. The recent suicides had been very tragic. My school's GSA is also inspired by this project and we were thinking about making a video and spreading it around at school to show other people that HEY! we're here when you have problems. We don't want you to do something stupid. We accept you for who you are and we want everything to be okay.

I really enjoyed watching this video. I'm 25 years old, i came out of the closet at 20 at the same i discovered my sexuality. And because of my parents and family pressure because of me not getting amrried like all my cousins i dropped the bomb. And the explosionw as like an atomic bomb, the reactions were terrible, but i was strong and ignored every single bad reaction. I admire your family, my wish is that one day i can adopt a child, and give everything i have to give from love to education.
By the way, you're living my dream. Sigh... Hopefully i'd get to marry the right guy, a home and a few kids. Thanks again for showing us that it's possible.
I personally was a victim of bullying by my peers when i was in high school (in Malaysia) just because i was dating a dude, i endured it, gritted my teeth, and got through it.
I am now doing my senior year of college in Taiwan, and despite it being an Asian country, it has given me the courage to come out, loud and proud to every single one of my peers, my friends, and even my professors.
Truly awesome message, guys, and a beautiful family. Something like this would have been an enormous help to me 40 years ago, bullied, afraid, and isolated. Proud of you, thanks for sharing.

@ballucanb1 I see that your 60 A really bad misconception is that once you hit a certain age your destined to be single. I can honestly say this is false. I literally live in the middle of nowhere and theres lots of older guys who are both in a loving relationship, and those single guys looking. Many finally find love after many years of loneliness, it's an amazing thing. Never give up on looking for love, no matter how old you THINK you might be it happens when least expected as it did to me :)

I want you to know that I didn't realize taut as I watched your video that I felt like you were talking to me, because I had most of the issues that you mentioned. I was with a girl , tried to see if I could turn str8 but it didnt happen ! She got pregnant last May. Shes wasnt ready or willing to be a mother but shes still having the baby for me ! I will have sole custody. In July I fell in love with a guy and hes amazing !! We are planning to get married here on Cape Cod next spring and he is so happy to be a parent with me when the baby arrives (due Dec 15) .AH happy endings !!! Youre right ...IT GETS BETTER !!

Gay couples can hold hands openly and happily here with being stared at or looked down upon. Almost 90% of people in the country now accept homosexuality, although the law still does not allow same-sex marriage as it is some how a very new thing to Thais. But believe me thousands of gay foreigners love living here. They even said it's one of the place that they can truly be themselves.
I'm 22. And, of course, I'm gay. And happy!

I'm not sure its that the Thai people are accepting of homosexuality per se, however.
I think it has more to do with the fact that Thais generally (in my admittedly limited experience) have a tendency to just mind their own business.
I also believe it may have to do with the Buddhist culture of tolerance, but I may be biased on that account.

@jaginatorpoop they never said WHEN it would get better. Besides, you have to do your part too. Go to AA meetings. They even have meetings that cater to gay men. I too was an alcoholic loner. I'm now over 3 years clean and sober and happy and healthier than ever. Get off the pity pot and go play in the hay!

I am very surprised and still in shocked that gay bullying actually happening in America. It is just as bad as other countries that publicly against homosexuality. I lived in Asia when i first came out in High school and every single one of my friends and siblings accepted me for being who i am. I have a wonderful experience coming out as i recall.
I really thought coming out and being accepted is such an easy thing for the kids here in America ,but i am dead wrong about this.

It turns out that homosexuality is not such a "gay" lifestyle after all. They have a shorter lifespan, a higher suicide rate, and they are at higher risk for certain diseases like HIV/ AIDS, per CDC statistics. It gets better when you leave the homosexual lifestyle behind. It gets better when we help homosexuals find a way out. Word of encouragement: There IS a way out!

Truly Inspirational. The recent suicides had been very tragic. My school's GSA is also inspired by this project and we were thinking about making a video and spreading it around at school to show other people that HEY! we're here when you have problems. We don't want you to do something stupid. We accept you for who you are and we want everything to be okay.

I really enjoyed watching this video. I'm 25 years old, i came out of the closet at 20 at the same i discovered my sexuality. And because of my parents and family pressure because of me not getting amrried like all my cousins i dropped the bomb. And the explosionw as like an atomic bomb, the reactions were terrible, but i was strong and ignored every single bad reaction. I admire your family, my wish is that one day i can adopt a child, and give everything i have to give from love to education.

I personally was a victim of bullying by my peers when i was in high school (in Malaysia) just because i was dating a dude, i endured it, gritted my teeth, and got through it.
I am now doing my senior year of college in Taiwan, and despite it being an Asian country, it has given me the courage to come out, loud and proud to every single one of my peers, my friends, and even my professors.
It gets better, trust me, it will.

I didn't figure out I was gay until very late in life, when I look back it was obvious I was gay but not to me at the time, I was asked a few times but denied it big time.

@ballucanb1 I see that your 60 A really bad misconception is that once you hit a certain age your destined to be single. I can honestly say this is false. I literally live in the middle of nowhere and theres lots of older guys who are both in a loving relationship, and those single guys looking. Many finally find love after many years of loneliness, it's an amazing thing. Never give up on looking for love, no matter how old you THINK you might be it happens when least expected as it did to me :)

I want you to know that I didn't realize taut as I watched your video that I felt like you were talking to me, because I had most of the issues that you mentioned. I kindy still had in the back of my head the feeling that society at large was againest me being gay and that I had to tread lightly around them. I was with a girl , tried to see if I could turn str8 but it didnt happen ! She got pregnant last May. Shes wasnt ready or willing to be a mother but shes still having the baby for me ! I will have sole custody. In July I fell in love with a guy and hes amazing !! We are planning to get married here on Cape Cod next spring and he is so happy to be a parent with me when the baby arrives (due Dec 15) .AH happy endings !!! Youre right ...IT GETS BETTER !!
