@kilerstaskis Well, The Wall of Flesh spawns when you throw one is lava. And to my knowledge, the guide is not connected with the Wall of Flesh in any way. However, the Guide MUST be alive to summon the Wall of Flesh, if thrown in lava without the Guide alive/spawned, the Guide Voodoo Doll is wasted and the Wall of Flesh remains hidden. Funny thing is..people that just get the patch and haven't read things, throw it in lava cause they dun need it. And shit them selves XD.

How to get rid of guide FOREVER.

1. Have all NPCs except the clothier

2. Make sure all the NPCs have houses (except for the clothier which you haven't got yet.)

3. Defeat skeletron.

4. Kill the guide with the voodoo doll

5. The clothier will move into the guide's house. Since there is no spare NPC houses, the guide won't spawn.

@honeycrumbs Let's be fair; In the current version, the Guide isn't completely useless. Show him a material, and he'll show you everything you can make with that material. Hell, show him a Muramasa, or a Blade of Grass, etc, and he'll give you the Night's Edge recipe, as well as telling you that you need to make it at a demon altar. And so on.

Sure, he's still a pain in the ass, but a little planning in your home makes him more useful than he is annoying.

I have the guide voodoo doll, and I just put it in a chest and never bothered.
